Bomber tips (more in the german side)

Hello dear pilot, have you ever wanted to use those magnificent planes that were notorious in WW2 like the Lancaster, the B-17 or just a tech tree bomber line that apeals to you.However you don't know where to start or just that you are in a bit of a pickle because you get killed emediatly. well no worries as I have some tips that I learned after almost playing for more than 80 hoours of being a bombadier. I won't say I'm a pro but I at least feel confident enough to give some light for a much underestimated line. Because for me I believe that a bomber is the heart of the team and if used well you can lead the team to victory, or at least gave an advantage.

Bomber tips
1) Bombers aren't useless
I think the biggest problem about a bomber is that the community don't seem to see the importance of being a bomber. The biggest reason is that they think it's a waste of a player that instead of having bombers it should only be fighters. Why ? Because the gunners are ♥♥♥♥! And they can't defend well. yes true, but that's the thing you are the one that has too control the gunner and when you control the gunner well things change quite a bit. However I will explain it in more details later. The Bomber is useful, because one primary thing it can give a turn to the outcome of the battle. You see in many of the defeats I had was the main reason that the bombers of my team either died too fast or did a bad job. However the enemy didn't thus the enemy had an advantage.That advantage was the soul reason that the enemy won the battle, thanks to there bombers. They did it so quickly and efficient that my team had no time to react and without realizing that bombs where starting to fall in the airbase.
That's why they are useful that advantage that only bombers can have. Bombers are also one of the most resilient things you could ever fly with.If used well it will reward you and the team greatly. However there are certain atributes in certain bombers that I think are very important.

2) Attributes that you should look for
In my opinion one of the biggest attribute you want is speed and a good bomb load.
Let me explain, the faster you are the faster you will be on your targets. the faster you are the less chance an enemy can catch up and thus lose interest. good bomb load means the more damage you can make or targets destroyed before coming back to the airfield. In short efficiency
now granted I know that theres no true line that has this however some bomber do go in this criteria and they are lethal. and if not you got your gunners.Because you will at least have either one of those good bomb load or speed. For me I think the germans is perfect they are fast and have a good bomb load why? becsause they have powerful bombs and most importantly accurate. And slow or fast my, my they have quite a good AAA defence. But German,British,Japanese etc... it will be more you who will decide I suggest watching a youtube video or in google to have a idea of the aspects that nation gives to the bombers. but whatever you chose even if you are fast or high in altitude sometimes you can't get away of the inevitable.
3) How to fight back
so you see bullets flying near you or got hits. You know now that you are someones target. So what do you do ?
-Track
-Evaluate
-Aim
-Shoot
In Short TEAS. You want first to go at gunners view F6 is the default button and track the oppressor. When you have found the oppressor you will evaluate and listen well because this is very important. You have to have an idea of how fast he is ? how far he is ? and where is he heading? then and only then you can aim. with this it will give you an idea of the enemy. Now the real question is when do I shoot ?
Shoot when the enemy is as close as possible,between 500 meters to 1 kilometre to ensure an accurate hit and to preserve ammo. if possible make him shoot behind you. why ? because it's where you can deal a lot of damage you see the weakest part of an enemy fighter is his engine, when he is at your six he exposes his engine and you can then shoot easily and also that's where you have the most powerful guns on your bomber. now you have also another advantage the enemy fighter will mostly underestimate you.For ammo type I would suggest the the one that has some sort of explosives to make more chances of a fire or critical hit so universal or Ap-T. and by the way you can still control your bomber while on gunners view.
4) crew management
on crew management focus on defensive armement especially for number of experienced gunners. Fire accuracy, Fire precision and vitalitty for the gunner.
Then the logistical service for reload speed and weapon maintenance. For the pilot it should be your least priority except vitality and awarness.
5) bombing
For bombing I would suggest to slow down a bit to 80% throttle and if possible put your combat flaps. Then go to the bombers sight a bit before the target to have time to aim
6) learn from your mistakes
I think in many domaines in life the biggest way to learn and to be better is simply to learn from your mistakes.

And that would be the tips I give you to hopefully be a better bomber but also I hope that this guide was useful and that it gave you an understanding of the role and importance of bombers in warthunder. I wish you happy gaming young or veteran Pilot. And we might see each other in the battlefield.
