This is part of the old works of one of the SITER SKAIN devs.

The original. The one and only. First there was dark, then there was SITER SKAIN. Before Touhou, before everything, there was already SITER SKAIN. Ok, not exactly like that but I mean its main member was already cranking out games.

This one is pretty much the lost episode in the series, later remade under the SITER SKAIN branch as ALLTYNEX Second in 3D form and with the ship going into a Gerwalk-like mode rather than full-on mech. But it's all there: big lasers, the guided laser missiles, the cool enemies, etc.

The original concept was here: a transformable ship that could deliver both long range and melee attacks and was tasked to launch an almost suicidal attack against the All-Purpose Administrative Computer ALLTYNEX, which went rogue and launched a massacre so terrible almost 80% of the population was wiped out in the initial attack.

Humans, we never learn not to trust A.I.s, right? Of course, there is so SO much more behind the reasons ALLTYNEX goes gaga. And all that is explained in the Tale of ALLTYNEX book, heh: http://www.alltynex.com/

But, yeah, you can tell the dev knows his business, to think 17 years ago some people weren't even born and he was already creating stuff like this, which really is incredible for the hardware it's running on! (A PC that literally had no hard drive per se but units you could mount on it, some of them came with TownsOS.)
