What you want to do...
UPDATE 2015-01-03: It appears that the site used in this guide is no longer being hosted on the internet.
This means that to create badges you'd have to create one by hand using Photoshop/GIMP or by finding a premade one.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

UPDATE 2015-05-09: Badge site is back although the owner mentioned something about server issues.
If the site is down for you, retry it a few minutes/hours later and see if it works then.

Hello there fellow SWAT chief!

This simple guide will help you create your own squad badge, visible at the main menu.
First of, the following site allows you to create a badge easily without the use of Photoshop/GIMP:

http://says-it.com/badge/

Select the badge type, badge symbol, write down your own text, choose your colors and then hit the 'Go' button.
Below the badge a small download link will appear, click download and save it in your picture folder.
(I named my badge 'Door Kickers Badge'.)

Now, what you want to do is open up paint and select the 'load image' option, select your badge.
When you've done that, open up the options tab (top-left) and hover the cursor over 'Save As'.

Select .PNG format.

If you've done this, you've now converted the badge from its default .gif format.

Open up your image editor of choice, either GIMP or Photoshop (i'm using GIMP), click new, make the empty canvas the same size as the badge and then choose the option to make the background transparent.

Select the background and the watermark then remove it, your badge should now have a transparent background.

Example:

Open up STEAM/steamapps/Door Kickers/data/badges and make a new folder called 'My Badges'.

The Door Kicker squad badge needs to be of the .tga format, your badge is of the .png format right now, to change this we need to download VTFEdit:
http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?c=178

When VTFEdit has been installed, choose the empty paper icon to the top-left. Find your badge. Load it, don't change any of the loading options.

Open up the options tab to the top-left, select export and then export it to your pictures folder. Make sure to save it as a .tga.
Copy your custom badge (.tga format) and drop in that folder, then copy it again and put it in the general badge folder.

Rename it to 'squadbadge' and then you're done!

I hope that this guide was of use, thanks for reading!

@Joey That was a rank name. You can change rank names as well in one of the documents to, for example, "LAS VEGAS SWAT".

How do you change the name of your squad, like yours says "The Great Cornholios".

Yeah, the registration for the domain appears to have expired, and since the side doesn't allow crawlers, we probably can't grab an archived version.
