I tried countless time to get this game working, for me the game booted but kept crashing on the prologue (swinging letters when doom is near)

Block with your firewall

I have norton 360 so for me, i opened device security, clicked settings(next to help), clicked on firewall, clicked on program control, I then searched for typoman which was allowed connection in my firewall. I change from allowed to block and hit apply.

I booted the game and hey presto its now working without fault.

I have read another solution which i haven't tried but apparently works, which is to run the game in steam offline mode.

to launch steam in offline mode simply click steam in the top left corner and then click go offline, it will ask you to restart click yes and there you go.

I don't recommend this solution because if your like me and like to 100% game achievements you won't get any in offline mode, it will also show no game play time etc, i learnt this the hard way with elden ring and only showed just over half my play time and i had to re-do a lot just to pop my achievements.

I'm not guaranteeing this will work for you but it worked for me, please refer to your own firewall solutions for blocking an app/game. if you don't have a 3rd party anti-virus software then refer to a windows firewall solution heres one below

my solution works with other games such as Deus ex the fall so please keep this in mind for future games that have problems.
