Tips
  • Some basic early game tips: Buy Peasant Stew or Fried Cabbage from the first vendor to boost your Stamina which tend to be quite low early on. Do some some quests at the town which boost your XP much faster than killing rats! Clicking on Signposts set your entrance location on the map for next visits and can also be built for your towns. Sell scrolls that boost Professions for some easy early cash.

  • You can craft directly using ingredients inside chest inventory. Outer limits of the container must be placed at up to 6 tiles from the crafting station for this to work. For a typical two-size chest this leave 4 tiles between the crafting station and the chest.

  • You can sprint by Double Tapping the direction you want to Sprint.

  • Tiles can be rotated used the "E" key.

  • Use Alt-Click to reserve an inventory spot for an item. This square will turn blue. This work for your own backpack as well as containers. To remove the reserved spot, remove the item and Right-Click.

  • You can mine & place terrain blocks on the second layer of the game world. To mine simply select your multi-tool and Right-Click a second-layer block. Similarly, to place a block on the second layer, select a terrain block normally then Right-Click.

  • Speaking of the second layer a combination of background blocks and the hour determine Dark Elves "in-the-dark" regeneration bonus, where 9pm is mostly enough to grant the full bonus even with next to no background tiles being present. The bonus is multiplicative. This is very good.

  • If left to their own devices free roaming chickens will sometime lay eggs on their own.

  • High enough Herbalism & Farming skills allow you to sometime farm multiple seeds at once.

  • Crafting Stations of the same type only vary in appearance, not in function. This mostly goes for containers too. All barrels hold exactly 20, drawers 30, and chests 50 items. There are a few exceptions. While most Wardrobes and Cupboard hold 50 and 40 items respectively, the Pine and Oaken versions both hold 10 items less... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • A food bonus value of 10 turn into a bonus of 100% to the relevant stat.15 = 150% at maximum. Sleeping help build it up from 0%, but at very higher level (food value over 10) sleeping a long period of time (12 hours) tend to set it back a lot depending on the hunger value.

Tricks
  • Bind "Interact" to MouseWheel Down (or Up) to easily harvest in mass while Sprinting (only work with Double Tap sprint). Left-click at the same time for simultaneous planting and harvesting.

  • The above also allow to loot/bury multiple corpse in a split second if the loot windows is properly placed.

  • You can't directly sort Crafting recipes by most experience given. However if you use any of the filters (icons to the left of the crafting window, under "All") the various sub-sections themselves will be largely ordered from least to highest experience given. Useful to level up your crafts.

  • Earthshatter (Lvl10 Mace mastery passive) has an hidden propriety: If you hold your weapon back for 2-3 second you can Earthshatter on your first strike/skip the build up to the third attack.

  • Shear your animals before butchering them for twice the wool.
Below is one of the many possible base designs to ensure every crafting stations has access to at least two chests for (almost) everything needed for crafting. By example the Workbench has direct access to two chests of Woods+, Ores, Fibers and Treasures. Meanwhile the Alchemy Station share the 4 Fibers and Treasures chests but also has access to the 2 Leave chests. I'm definitely interested in seeing your own designs! (fruit chest should be next to vegetables oops)

Press interact key on a corpse to bury it so you can just double click a body

sadly the "place and mine block" thing for the tutorial areas doesn't work any more

As for compact base design, the inventory is so huge, you can keep 1 stack of everything in inventory and only stack up full stacks into the chests. This tactic is more efficient (less inventory management), but will require more chest than on the picture, I had nearly 20 full chests at the end of game ;)

"Don't hold on to books they are almost exclusively for lore" - poor advice, you will regret at the very end of the game for not keeping few books needed for "The Library" quest.
