Popis
Stellaris 3.13.*
First JWST Deep Field image:
"A flurry of bright white galaxies is stirring up this scene – captured in high resolution by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope. Known as galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, the group of galaxies is also bending and warping the light from more distant galaxies behind them, stretching and repeating their appearances. Webb’s near- and mid-infrared imaging – and highly detailed data known as spectra – will allow future researchers to finely catalog the precise compositions of galaxies in the early universe, which may ultimately reshape our understanding of how galaxies changed and evolved over billions of years."

JWST Stephan’s Quintet image:
"In an enormous new image, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope reveals never-before-seen details of the galaxy group called "Stephan’s Quintet." The close proximity of this group gives astronomers a ringside seat to galactic mergers and interactions. Rarely do scientists see in so much detail how interacting galaxies trigger star formation in each other, and how the gas in these galaxies is being disturbed. Stephan’s Quintet is a fantastic "laboratory" for studying these processes fundamental to all galaxies. The image also shows outflows driven by a supermassive black hole in one of the group’s galaxies in a level of detail never seen before. Tight galaxy groups like this may have been more common in the early universe when superheated, infalling material may have fueled very energetic black holes."

This is a token of appreciation for all the scientific efforts made by Earth's James Webb Space Telescope Team.

It replaces Stellaris galaxy background with the first JWST's deep field image, and if you look behind, as a bonus, you can also contemplate Stephan’s Quintet with as much resolution as Stellaris allows.

@Maschinenmensch Absolutely, is just a graphical change, don't worry about the game version (I've forgot to update the version number).

Woah, I've been modding Stellaris for a while, but this is definitely the prettiest Background I've seen yet. Can this be added midgame? I'd think so, right?

Thanks! :selphinehappy:

What a neat idea!

Background revision!

- Increased depth of field.
- More defined black and softer white.
- The size and luminosity of the objects make more sense.
- To avoid confusion, the player view is less crowded.
- Noise reduction.

I'm pleased with the end result; I'm also aware that not many folks look for galaxy backgrounds, but for those who do, I'll keep sharing this mod. Enjoy.

Ah, I see, thank you for the constructive feedback and yea... We are kinda in the same boat, I'm by no means a gfx pro I just do this for fun but I learned a little bit from someone, there is a few things that I can try like noise reduction filters, blur and sharpen stuff. I'll have to play it by ear, nonetheless, thanks for passing by to check out my mod!

It's, for lack of a better word, grainy. It looks like a photo, not like 'space'. Things like Immersive Beautiful Stellaris edits the Hubble stuff to get rid of it, or at least does a better job of hiding it. I don't know *how* they do it, or what needs to be done.

Hmm what would you do? I already made it darker and added almost seamless transitions in a cubic skybox for someting that fits better in a sphere

Without editing all of the deep field stuff looks goofy in fame.
