there are 3 gamemodes in calamity, mgr reference (revengeance), death mode, and mind of malice mode. I recommend for the easiest calamity experience, i recommend mind of malice mode, its pretty easy and will add such changes as

-death
-ponies
-the one piece fanbase
-hell (also known as the one piece fanbase)

anyways, you've now enabled mind of malice mode. what do you do? now my recommendation is simple. go up to the guide npc and ask him what his happiness is, once you've finished that, cut down some trees and build some npc housing. then proceed to learn the power of flight, go to circular sky islands, get a degree in quantum physics, and speedrun the true understanding of the universe.
then go fight the desert scourge, which is the worm vor3 hent@i thing and kill it. if you dont then maybe try a different game thats a bit easier, or refer to section 2 if you want an easier experience.
