HELLo everyone! I'll tell you right away that here is NO DESCRIPTION OF GAINING thoughts! Because THIS GUY already did a hella good job by explaining a lot of things. When I was deciding which thought I would like to choose after another level up, I was constantly suffering by re-reading all the stats. So i decided to sort all thoughts by specific characteristics.

Critical success/Critical failure
The Precarious World - All red checks will fail during 4 hours of researching. Thinking can be paused to avoid falling the red check.

So,
The Precarious World: Critical success and failure thresholds lowered by 1.

When the dice roll 1:1, it's a critical failure. In this case, you fail the roll, even if you have enough points to succeed. On the other hand, when both dice roll for a maximum score of 6:6, you make a successful roll even if you don't have enough points.

Here is what it says briefly:

For example, you want to hug Kim. The game says that you need to roll Esprit de Corps for 30 points for this action, and shows the difficulty:impossible. Let's say at the moment you were able to pump the Esprit de Corps by 7 with thoughts, clothes, and other things. Thus, the difficulty of the roll becomes 30-7=23. This means that you need to roll 23 points with dice, which is impossible since the maximum of two six-sided dice is 12 (6+6).

This is where the notion of critical failure/success comes into play. If you roll the dice at 6:6, you will be able to hug Kim. This is where the thought The Precarious World can come in handy. It increases the range of critical successes and failures by 1 and gives you the ability to get a critical success not only from 6:6 but also from 6:5 or 5:6. The same works for a critical failure, to the standard 1:1, a new roll result with a score of 1:2 or 2:1, will be added.

Many things you've listed as "increase X by n" is in fact "increase X to n". For example, Regular Law Official increase all skill cap to 3, If you start with 3-3-3-3 (so boring) then it does nothing.
