Costiero Montefalcone Italian Coastal Submarine

The CM (Costiero Montefalcone) class coastal submarines where little, simple crafts with a single hull and double keel designed by CRDA. They were made for anti-ship torpedo missions to perform in large groups and, being able to be constructed fast and industrially, guard, protect or hunt in important and busy channels, such as Sicily channel or in Gilbratar, as well as provide defense against a possible ground invasion coming from the sea, which eventually happened. The original project dates to 1937, being updated in 1943 with many new features such as a dual 13.2mm machine gun that could be retracted. The project was called CM. The brand new diesels engine where a repurposed model, taken directly from the brand new P40 tank.
Sadly, the first unit of this series was launched september 1 1943, exactly 5 days before the surrendering of italy. The first unit, CM 1, was captured by German forces and called UIT 17, as long with the CM 2 which was called UIT 18. The first one was eventually transfered to the Republican National Italian Navy back as CM 1, while CM 2 was damaged in an allied bombing, later ending at the Henriquez museum in Trieste, where after 15 years it was scrapped.
Even without a service record it is considered that these submarines performance, even if superior to the CB class, would still have been heavily limited by its very modest size of 33 meters.

The ingame variant features accurate interior, built following the plans of the original crafts. The controls are both in Italian and English. It has a lenght of 33 meters and a width of 2.75. It features 2 bilge pumps and 3 ballast tanks, 2 electric and 2 diesel engines granting an 8 and 14 knots top speed respectively, 2 functioning torpedo tubes, a retractable machine gun, 2 retractable beds, periscope and helmsman stations and even a little secret.
