Stormtroopers, also known as Imperial stormtroopers or "bucketheads," were elite shock troops of the Galactic Empire, serving under the Stormtrooper Corps, an independent branch of the Imperial Army. Originally composed of clone troopers from the Grand Army of the Republic, they were gradually replaced by conscripted and recruited humans after the Clone Wars. Wearing white plastoid armor and armed with E-11 blaster rifles, stormtroopers enforced the Empire's rule across the galaxy, from Coruscant to the Outer Rim, and fought in key battles like Scarif, Hoth, and Endor. Their loyalty extended to Emperor Palpatine and his New Order, but after his death and the Empire's defeat at Jakku, stormtrooper forces were largely disbanded. However, remnants continued to serve warlords like Moff Gideon, and by the New Republic Era, a new generation of stormtroopers emerged under the First Order.
