Introduction
This guide will have a detailed explaination of each car's strength and weaknesses as well as their handling characteristic. This guide also takes into account how easy it is to push a car to it's limits, because no matter how fast a car is, you can't win if you can't keep the car under control.

This guide will only cover cars in the Street and Tuner discipline as I'm more into production cars. This guide will not cover single car categories, such as NSX R and Alfa Romeo 4C since there are no cars to compare with in their category.

Experience might differ with different setups, assists, tunings and upgrades.
Setups used
I'm using keyboard.
Assists – ABS, auto transmission.
Upgrades – weight reduction.
Tuning – Stock
Content
Each category will content will start off with a video showcasing all the car's performance and handling in a particular track and a lap time is set. Note that most runs are done within the first attempt to factor in how easy it is to use the car. I will only restart the attempt if there is a major mistake such as hitting a wall. The times achieved in the video does not mean that car is fastest in that category.

For those who can't watch the youtube video or are just lazy to watch, the times achieved is posted under the video.
Hot Hatch Category (Street)

Track is Circuit of the Americas, National Circuit.

Times:
1:45.040 - Volkswagen Golf R
1:44.793 - Mini John Cooper Works GP
1:44.721 - Ford Focus ST
1:44.625 - Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde (Road & Track Pack)

Ford Focus ST

Strength
  • Excellent overall acceleration (3rd gear to top speed)
  • Excelent at uphill climbs
  • Has great turn-in ability at corner entry
  • Excellent at both low and high speed corners

Weakness
  • Weak launch acceleration

Strength description
The Focus is the most powerful Hot Hatch as it's great at climbing uphill stretches. Though interestingly, it's straight line acceleration on a flat road is similar to the Golf R's. The Focus has great handling with it's ability to turn into low speed corners well and can handle high speed cornering.

Beneficial tracks
Every track in Grid Autosport.

Weakness description
With it's very weak launch acceleration, expect to be overtaken at start.

Tracks to avoid
None.

Tips & Precautions
Brake early before entering a corner, then turn-in without any throttle, braking or sliding and then full throttle out of the corner. Do not slide the car as it will cost speed and the car will slide if you let go the throttle and turn suddenly. If the car begins to understeer, release the throttle.

Tuning Potential
You want to increase rear brake bias to reduce understeer at corner entry. The gear ratio at stock is a little tall, you might want to shorten the gear ratios. For other settings, this car is already almost at it's best at stock, but it's up to the player if they prefer more or less oversteer settings.

Volkswagen Golf R

Strength
  • Fastest launch acceleration
  • Excellent overall acceleration
  • Great at low speed sharp turns

Weakness
  • Does not turn-in well into corners
  • Weak at high speed cornering
  • Does not perform well on long turns
  • Slightly poor at climbing uphills

Strength description
With it's 4WD traction, it's has the fastest launch acceleration followed by great overall acceleration on the straights. At low speed sharp turns, it's has great traction thanks to it's 4WD.

Beneficial tracks
Tracks with long straights at start - Autódromo do Algarve, Autosport Raceway
Low speed sharp turns - San Francisco Short

Weakness description
Unfortunately, this car does not perform well in corners. The longer the corner, the greater the understeer. It's the same story for high speed corners as well. It's best to take on this car in 90° turns. Despite having almost identical acceleration as the Focus on flat roads, during uphills, the acceleration becomes slightly weaker than the Focus.

Tracks to avoid
High Speed – Okutama, Spa GP
Long Turns - Autosport Raceway, Dubai

Tips & Precautions
Keep the understeer as minimal as possible at corner entry. Brake early and let go the throttle at corner entry minimise understeer. If the car begins to understeer, release the throttle. For low speed sharp turns, don't be afraid to tap the handbrake.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear bias and have higher oversteer settings to reduce the understeer of the car.

Mini John Cooper Works GP

Strength
  • Has great turn-in ability at corner entry
  • Excellent at both low and high speed corners

Weakness
  • Poor launch acceleration
  • Weak high speed acceleration (6th gear)
  • Poor at climbing uphills

Strength description
The Cooper has great handling for both low and high speed turns with it's excellent ability to turn-in corners.

Beneficial tracks
Low speed - San Francisco, Chicago, Washington
High Speed - Red Bull Ring, Brands Hatch GP, Okutama Sprint

Weakness description
This car has the weakest acceleration when it reaches 6th gear. It's not good at climbing slopes either, so you generally want to avoid tracks with very long straights.

Tracks to avoid
Long Straights – Spa GP, Mount Panorama
Uphill slopes - Okutama

Tips & Precautions
The same tips from the Focus apply to this car as both handles very similarly.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear bias to reduce understeer at corner entry. For other settings, this car is already almost at it's best at stock, but it's up to the player if they prefer more or less oversteer settings.
Coupe Category (Street)

Track is Dubai Hattan Way.

Times:
1:16.156 - Subaru BRZ
1:16.142 - BMW 1 Series M Coupe
1:16.066 - Honda Integra Type R DC5
1:16.063 - Hyundai Genesis Coupe Track (Coupé Style DLC)

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is under the Coupe Style DLC section.

In the video showcase run, I've made the most time costly mistakes in the Honda Integra.

BMW 1 Series M Coupe

Strength
  • Fastest launch acceleration
  • High low-medium speed acceleration (0-124mph, 0-200kmh)
  • Has great turn-in ability at corner entry
  • Excellent at high speed corners

Weakness
  • High tendency to drift in low speed corners
  • Poor high speed acceleration (124mph, 200kmh onwards)

Strength description
The 1M has the best launch, use it to your advantage. The 1M's high low-medium acceleration is great on medium speed tracks. It's great turn-in ability is excellent in 90° turns. You generally want to take the 1M for high speed tracks as the car's tendency to slide decreases at higher speeds. Also this car is forgiving if you brake late into a corner as it's turn-in ability can quickly recover the car.

Beneficial tracks
Medium speed – Barcelona, Chicago, Washington
High Speed – Okutama Sprint, Brands Hatch GP

Weakness description
You want to avoid tracks multiple low speed corners and very long straights in this car. You will get smoked if the straightsway is too long due to it's extremely poor high speed acceleration. At low speeds, this car slides very easily and is poor at getting exit traction.

Tracks to avoid
Long Straights – Mount Panaroma, Spa GP
Low speed – Yas Marina, Hockenheimring, Circuit of the Americas

Tips & Precautions
When driving this car, you need to keep drifting as minimal as possible at corner exits. Grip at exits to maximise corner exits but this can be tricky at low speed corners as the tendency for the car to drift is high. Be extremely careful at sharp low speed turns, it is faster to drift slightly at entry to reduce understeer but do not overdo it or you will spin out.

Tuning Potential
You want to tune to reduce the car's main weakness, corner exit traction. Do not tune the gear ratio to solve the poor high end acceleration problem, whether putting short or tall gear ratios, the poor acceleration is still there, so don't waste time on it. Upgrades does not improve the poor high end acceleration at all.

Subaru BRZ

Strength
  • Great launch acceleration
  • Has great turn-in ability at corner entry
  • Excellent at high speed corners
  • Great high-speed acceleration (5th gear onwards)

Weakness
  • Weakest overall acceleration (1st to 4th gear)
  • Slight tendency to drift at low speed turns

Strength description
The BRZ's strength is quite similar to the 1M being a similar RWD car, but due to this car's great high-speed acceleration, it is suitable on long straightway tracks which the 1M isn't good at. The BRZ is overall a more balanced car that can handle any tracks, but it's at it's best at high speed turns. Also this car is forgiving if you brake late into a corner as it's turn-in ability can quickly recover the car.

Beneficial tracks
High speed – Okutama Sprint, Brands Hatch GP

Weakness description
This car has the weakest low-medium speed acceleration, so medium speed tracks and uphill slopes are not in it's favor. It has a slight tendency to drift at low speed corners, it should be manageable but it can cost some speed when it slides.

Tracks to avoid
Medium speed – Barcelona, Chicago, Washington

Tips & Precautions
Again keep drifting at minimum at corner exits. The best way to take on a corner for the BRZ is to drift slightly at entry followed by a grip exit. Don't be afraid to slide it a little as this car has a less tendency to spin out if you overdo it.

Tuning Potential
This car's potential greatly increases by tuning it to further increase corner exit traction.

Honda Integra Type R DC5

Strength
  • Fastest acceleration on straights (3rd gear to top speed)
  • Very stable at both low and high speeds
  • Easy to drive at full throttle

Weakness
  • Weakest launch acceleration
  • Poor at corner entry speed
  • Performs slightly poor at high speed cornering
  • Can only take one line in corners

Strength description
This car is the most versatile and easy to drive car due to it's FWD stability. It's stable at both low and high speed turns making it easy to drive at full throttle. It is also the fastest car on the straights, and it's great at climbing uphills.

Beneficial tracks
Almost all tracks.

Weakness description
Being FWD, it understeers at high speed turns and this car does not perform at high speed corners. The launch acceleration is the worst and expect to be overtaken at the start. Being a FWD car, understeer is a serious issue, especially under heavy braking at corner entry. This results in the car's poor entry speed. Also the Integra has only one line to take in corners if you miss the line by braking late or turning a fraction too late or being rammed from behind, the car can't recover well and you will lose a lot of pace and time from it compared to 1M and BRZ which can recover easily without losing too much pace.

Tracks to avoid
High Speed – Okutama Sprint Circuit

Tips & Precautions
The most important tip is to maintain the only line which the car can take and do not veer off.
Another important tip in using this car is to tackle corner entries. Do it right, this car turns into corners like a charm. Being a FWD car, it is important to put less strain in the front. Brake early before entering the corner then turn into the corner without any throttle or braking. Then full throttle in the mid-corner. If your car begans to understeer, let go the throttle. Avoid sliding this car as it will cost you speed and affects your line. The car will slide if you let go the throttle and turn suddenly.

Tuning Potential
There isn't much tuning potential for this car as this car is already almost at it's best at stock. It is recommended to increase rear brake bias to reduce it's understeer at entry. You can tune the car to fit your driving style by having more oversteer or less oversteer.
Performance Category (Street)

Track is San Francisco, Grand Prix Circuit

Times:
2:08.752 - Cadillac CTS-V Coupe (Coupé Style DLC)

Beneficial tracks
Heavy braking corners - Circuit of the Americas, Autosport Raceway, Indianapolis

Weakness description
Despite it's overall stability, the M3 has a tendency to drift at corner exits which will affect the exit speed. It also has the weakest acceleration compared to the other 2 cars.

Tracks to avoid
Long Straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting as minimal as possible, especially at corner exits. Turn the car as smooth as possible with throttle control to minimise sliding.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to have more stability and exit traction.

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

Strength
  • Excellent overall acceleration on straights
  • Excellent at climbing uphills
  • Excellent at high speed corners ***
  • Slight drift makes the car turn better ***

Weakness
  • Drifts easily at low speed corners
  • Slightly poor traction at low speed corner exits
  • Weak brakes
  • Slightly poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Tendency to drift at high speed corners ***
  • Requires drifting to turn corners better ***

Note: Points that are tagged with '***', have both strength and weakness related with each other.

Strength description
The C63 is a beast on the straights and on uphill stretches. Drifting actually helps the car turn better and solves the car's poor turn-in ability. Keep it mind this is also a weakness as well. This car performs well on high speed corners, the higher the speed the better.

Beneficial tracks
Long Straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama
Uphill climbs – Okutama Grand Circuit
High Speed - Okutama Sprint Circuit

Weakness description
This car has a very high tendency to drift at low speed corners which results in poor exit traction. It's brakes are weak compared to the other 2 cars and it does not turn well into corners. As mentioned in the strength description, drifting helps the car iin cornering but too much drifting will slow down the car and you will lose exit speed. The drifting is a very thin line between fast and slow. Although this car is excellent at high speed corners, it has a tendency to drift and will cost speed. However this can either significantly improve your cornering speed or reduce your cornering speed. The thin line between fast and slow when drifting this car makes this car very difficult to drive.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed – Circuit of the Americas, Chicago

Tips & Precautions
Drifting with this car will either make or break. The key to be fast in corners is to drift slightly at entry followed by a grip exit. You will be slow if you try to fully grip this car, and it's the same story for fully drifting this car. Brake early due to the car's weak brakes, use the throttle to kick the rear out slightly and control your throttle from there.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to solve the car's poor exit traction and reducing it's high tendency to drift, especially at corner exits. This will significantly improve the car's overall pace. However do not eliminate the car's ability to drift completely as it is needed to be fast at corners.

Audi RS5 Coupe

Strength
  • Excellent low and high speed stability
  • Great brakes
  • Excellent corner exit traction
  • Easy to drive at full throttle with 4WD traction

Weakness
  • Slightly weak in overall acceleration

Strength description
The RS5 is very easy to drive at full throttle with it's amazing low and high speed stability. It also has excellent corner exit traction which is the car's main strength.

Beneficial tracks
Almost every track

Weakness description
It is slightly weak in overall straightway acceleration, so you generally want to avoid tracks with very long straights

Tracks to avoid
Long Straights – Spa GP, Mount Panorama

Tips & Precautions
This car is very easy to drive, there is not much to worry about. If the car begins to understeer during a corner, release the throttle.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear brake bias to reduce understeer at corner entry. You can tune the car to fit your driving style by having more oversteer or less oversteer.

  • None

Strength description
The SL65 is amazing at both low and high speed corners, and it's very easy to drive. It's excellent at turning into corners and exits the corner with great traction. With it's high speed stability, it's performs well at high speed corners without losing grip at full throttle. It's also drift friendly as the car doesn't punish you for drifting too much at low speed corners and the drifting is controllable

Beneficial tracks
Every track in Grid Autosport

Weakness description
There are no weaknesses.

Tracks to avoid
None

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting to the minimum and grip this car to make use of it's exit traction. Be careful with bumps at high speed corners which can send the car in a slide which can cost a lot of speed.

Tuning Potential
The car is already at almost at it's best stock. You can tune this car to further increase it's overall stability. The car slides a little under heavy braking, and it's up to the player to keep that slide or increase front bias for a more stable entry.

Jaguar XKR-S

Strength
  • Excellent overall acceleration (1st to 5th gear)
  • Performs decently well at high speed corners

Weakness
  • Weak high end acceleration (6th gear)
  • High tendency to drift at both low and high speed corners
  • Poor stability at low speed corners
  • Poor traction at corner exits
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Requires drifting for low speed corners

Strength description
The XKR-S has great overall acceleration and it performs decently well at high speed corners.

Beneficial tracks
Long straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama, Indianapolis

Weakness description
The XKR-S doesn't do well in corners as it has a very high tendency to drift for both low and high speed corners. It's exit traction is poor as well as the car might drift at corner exits if there is too much throttle. It's turn-in ability is poor and it requires a slight drift to turn the corners better. It's a difficult car to drive as it requires a combination of smooth drifts and throttle control to be fast at corners without overdoing it.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed - Circuit of the Americas, Chicago, Barcelona, Washington
High speed - Barcelona, Okutama

Tips & Precautions
For low speed corners, drift the car slightly at entry then grip as much possible. For medium speed, keep drifting as minimum as possible. Be careful not to overdo the drifting which can results in spin outs, especially low speed sharp turns.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear brake bias so that the car can begin to slide for sharp turns. Tune the car to increase it's stability and exit traction.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

Strength
  • Great turn-in ability at corners
  • Decent traction at corner exits
  • Decent high speed stability

Weakness
  • Slight tendency to drift at corners
  • Understeers heavily at corner exits
  • Performs slightly poor at high speed corners

Strength description
The 8C has overall decent handling with great turn-in ability into corners and decent exit traction. It also has decent high speed stability.

Beneficial tracks
Corners - Barcelona, Washington, Circuit of the Americas

Weakness description
This car has a slight tendency to drift during corners if you are not careful with your steering and throttle. Although this car turns into corner decently, it suddenly seems to understeer very heavily at corner exits which causes this car to perform poorly at high speed corners due to it's understeer.

Tracks to avoid
High speed - Okutama Sprint, Brands Hatch GP

Tips & Precautions
For low speed corners, drift the car slightly followed by a grip exit for the best cornering speed. Control your throttle and steering to keep drifting as minimum as possible.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to increase stability and corner exit traction and increase rear brake bias so the car slides a little at entry, but players can choose for a more stable understeer approach by increasing front bias.

Aston Martin Vanquish

Strength
  • Excellent overall acceleration
  • Performs decently at high speed corners
  • Decent traction at corner exits

Weakness
  • Slight tendency to drift at both low and high speed corners
  • Poor stability at low speed corners

2:03.632 - Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series

Similarities note: All 7 cars have very similar overall acceleration. The difference between the top and the weakest accelerating car is about 1-2 car lengths on a long straight from launch.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato

Strength
  • Excellent high speed acceleration (5th gear onwards)

Weakness
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Poor traction at corner exits
  • Has a tendency to drift at both low and high speed corners
  • Poor stability at high speeds

Strength description
From 5th gear onwards, the Zagato has quite a slight surge of acceleration compared to the other cars. And that's the only strength this car has.

Beneficial tracks
Long straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama

Weakness description
The Zagato isn't really good at corners. It doesn't turn into corners well and has a tendency to drift at both low speed and high speed corners. It doesn't exit corners well due to it's poor traction and at high speeds it's unstable.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed - Chicago, Washington, Circuit of the Americas
High speed - Okutama, Brands Hatch GP, Dubai

Tips & Precautions
You absolutely cannot drift this car, and you have to grip as much as possible. Drifting will cost a lot of speed. Control your throttle and steering to prevent this car from sliding.

Tuning Potential
Tune this car to improve it's stability overall and reduce it's tendency to drift at corners.

Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren 722

Strength
  • Excellent launch acceleration
  • Great low to medium speed acceleration (1st to 4th gear)
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Great turn-in ability at corners

Weakness
  • Weak high speed acceleration (5th gear)
  • Slight tendency to drift at corner exits
  • Slightly unstable at high speed

Strength description
The SLR Mclaren has the best launch acceleration with great low-medium speed acceleration. It also has excellent traction at corner exits with decent turn-in ability at corners.

Beneficial tracks
Almost all tracks in Grid Autosport

Weakness description
While only a minor weakness, acceleration becomes weak at 5th gear. It does has a slight tendency to drift at corner exits at both low and high speeds if you are not careful. It's also a little unstable at high speed corners.

Tracks to avoid
High speed - Okutama

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting at minimum for medium speed turn and grip at corner exits for the best traction. For low speed turns, drift slightly at entry and then grip at exits. It is still ok to drift slightly throughout the corners for low and medium speed turns, but be a little careful for high speed turns as drifting slows the car down at high speeds.

Tuning Potential
This car is almost at it's best at stock. It is up to the player for a more stable setup or a more oversteer setup.
Coupé Style Pack DLC (Street)

The video above showcases the performance of Hyundai Genesis Coupe Track, Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and Nissan GT-R R35 SpecV. The cars and times will be compared to their respective categories.

From the Coupe Category (Street), times:
1:16.156 - Subaru BRZ
1:16.142 - BMW 1 Series M Coupe
1:16.066 - Honda Integra Type R DC5
1:16.063 - Hyundai Genesis Coupe Track (Coupé Style DLC)

Track is Dubai, Hattan Way
Note: The Integra's time had time costing mistakes.

Strength
  • Fastest overall acceleration (2nd gear to top speed)
  • Decent low speed stability
  • Decent turn-in ability at corners

Weakness
  • Weak launch acceleration
  • Slight tendency to drift at low speed corners
  • High tendency to drift at high speed corners
  • Performs poorly at high speed cornering
  • Weak traction at corner exits

Strength description
The new fastest accelerating car in the Coupe category, provided if you ignore it's launch acceleration. Due to it's heavy weight, it has decent stability at low speed corners, with decent turn-in ability at corners. You generally want to keep this car in low-medium speed turns and make use of it's acceleration.

Beneficial tracks
Long straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama
Medium speed - Barcelona, Chicago, Washington

Weakness description
The launch acceleration is weak, though not weaker than the Integra but the power of this car can quickly compensate. Although it has decent low speed stability, it still has a slight tendency to drift, and the car is unforgiving if you drift too much. This car performs slightly poor at high speed turns due to it's high tendency to drift at corners. It also has a slightly poor turn-in ability at high speed corners. The higher the speed, the more drifty the car becomes.

Tracks to avoid
High speed - Okutama, Brands Hatch GP

Tips & Precautions
At very low speed sharp turns, drift the car slightly and then grip for the best possible speed. But do not overdo the drift as you can't recover from the drift if the angle gets too large. For low-medium speed turns, keep drifting as minimum as possible. At high speeds, take extra precautions as this car has a high tendency to drift. Turn as smoothly as possible and control the throttle if the car begins to slide at exits.

Tuning Potential
Tune this car to improve it's stability overall and reduce it's tendency to drift at high speed corners corners. Increase rear brake bias if players want a slight drift at corner entry.

Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

Weakness description
The handling on the CTS makes you appreciate the C63's handling. I'll sum this in a nutshell, this car can't take corners, both low speed and high speed.

Tracks to avoid
Any tracks with corners

Tips & Precautions
Driving the CTS-V requires a similar approach with the C63. You will need a combination of drift a grip. Drift slightly at corner entry followed by a grip exit. Due to it's weight, brake early and so that the car doesn't slide at corner entry.

Tuning Potential
Tune this car to increase it's overall stability and exit traction.

Nissan GT-R R35 SpecV

From the Grand Tourer Category (Street), times:
2:05.292 - Aston Martin V12 Zagato (Best of British DLC)
2:04.987 - Aston Martin Vanquish
2:04.952 - Jaguar XKR-S
2:04.735 - Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
2:03.877 - Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren 722 (Best of British DLC)
2:03.659 - Nissan GT-R R35 SpecV (Coupé Style DLC)
2:03.632 - Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series

Track is Chicago, The Loop

Note: The SL65 run was done in a single attempt.
Similarities note: All 7 cars have very similar overall acceleration. The difference between the top and the weakest accelerating car is about 1-2 car lengths on a long straight from launch.

Strength
  • Excellent launch acceleration
  • Excellent low and high speed stability
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Decent turn-in ability at corners
  • Easy to drive at full throttle

Weakness
  • Weak Brakes

Strength description
With it's 4WD drivetrain, it's no surprise it has both launch acceleration, stability and traction thus making this car a very easy car to drive at full throttle. This is the GT-R's biggest strength. You don't have to worry about this car suddenly losing grip. It turns decently well into corners too.

Beneficial tracks
Every track in Grid Autosport

Weakness description
If you are using the racing line as a guide for braking points, brake really early for this car as the brakes are quite weak compared to the other cars.

Tracks to avoid
None

Tips & Precautions
If you are familiar with the Audi RS5's handling, you should be familiar with this. However the grip on the GT-R is more loose allowing a touch of drift. Don't hestitate to brake + weight shift and swing the car to drift slightly at entry. The 4WD traction will quickly recover the car and you can full throttle out of a corner. At low speed sharp turns, don't be afraid to tap the handbrake and drift the car slightly. Remember to brake early otherwise you can't make use of the brake + weight shift to have a perfect turn.

Tuning Potential
This car is already almost at it's best stock. It is up to the players for a more oversteer setup or a more stable setup.
Road and Track DLC (Street & Tuner)

The video above showcases the performance of Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, Zenvo ST1 and Nissan 1991 R32 Auto Gallery Skyline GT-R. The cars and times will be compared to their respective categories.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde

From the Hot Hatch Category (Street), times:
1:45.040 - Volkswagen Golf R
1:44.793 - Mini John Cooper Works GP
1:44.721 - Ford Focus ST
1:44.625 - Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde (Road & Track Pack)

Track is Circuit of the Americas, National Circuit

Strength
  • Fastest overall acceleration (3rd gear to top speed) [6th gear onwards faster than Focus]
  • Excelent at uphill climbs
  • Has great turn-in ability at corner entry
  • Excellent at both low and high speed corners

Weakness
  • Weak launch acceleration

Strength description
The new fastest accelerating car in the Hot Hatch category. Although acceleration is identical at the lower gears, at high end gears the Alfa begins to have better acceleration than the Focus. Strength wise is similar to the Focus, with great turn-in ability at corner entry and performs well at both low and high speed turns.

Beneficial tracks
All Grid Autosport tracks.

Weakness description
Like the rest of the FWD cars in this category, the launch acceleration is weak.

Tracks to avoid
None.

Tips & Precautions
Pretty much similar to how the Focus handle the same tips apply to FWD cars when cornering. Brake early and let go throttle at corner entry. Let go the throttle if the car begins to understeer. During corner entry, the car may slide a little during braking. Note that the Alfa is easier to slide compared to the Focus.

Tuning Potential
It is up to the players to keep it's oversteer characteristic at corner entry. If you want it reduced, increase front bias. The car's setting is already almost at it's best stock, and it's up to the player if they prefer more or less oversteer settings.

Zenvo ST1

From the Hypercar Category (Street), times:
1:42.667 - Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
1:42.643 - Mclaren P1
1:41.817 - Koenigsegg Agera R
1:41.701 - Zenvo ST1 (Road & Track Pack)
1:41.327 - Pagani Zonda Revolucion

Track is Washington, Grand Prix Circuit

Strength
  • Fastest overall acceleration on straights (same as Agera R)
  • Excellent stability both low and high speeds
  • Decent traction at corner exits

Weakness
  • Poor brakes
  • Very poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Performs poorly at high speed turns
  • Does not drift well
  • Unpredictable

Strength description
Now the Agera R shares the crown of being the king of acceleration on the straights with the Zenvo ST1. The Zenvo is the most stable RWD car in the hypercar category, with both great low speed and high speed stability, comparable with the 4WD Bugatti Veyron. This stability is totally the opposite of the Agera R which is more drifty. It's exit traction is decent to put down all of power.

Beneficial tracks
Long straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama, Indianapolis
Medium speed - Chicago
(Special) - San Francisco

Weakness description
It's extreme stability does come at a price. The turn-in ability of the Zenvo is the worst in the hypercar category. And the understeer is amplified at high speed. It's stability also effect the drifting and it's difficult to control when the car begins to drift. It also slows the car down when drifting. Despite it's stability, any sort of sloped or bumpy turns can suddenly snap this car into a very difficult to control drift which makes this car unpredictable.

Tracks to avoid
High speed - Okutama, Brands Hatch

Tips & Precautions
While in the Agera you have to worry about oversteer, in the Zenvo you have to worry about understeer. Avoid drifting at low speed turns, and keep the throttle under control to prevent it from drifting. Brake early as the brakes are very poor and it has a huge understeer at corner entry. At high speeds, keep the throttle under control to control the understeer as well any section where the roads are sloped or bumpy to prevent it from drifting. For a more higher risk driving, at medium-high speed turns, drift the car slightly during the turn and then grip at exit.

Tuning Potential
Increase the rear brake bias to reduce it's massive understeer at corner entry. You might want a more open differential setup so that the car drifts better and more controllable. It it's up to the players for a more oversteer setup or a more stable setup.

Nissan 1991 (R32) Auto Gallery Skyline GT-R

From the Super Modified category (Tuner), times:
1:55.989 - Auto Gallery Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R (Road and Track Pack)
1:55.655 - Tomei Cusco Subaru Impreza WRX
1:55.010 - Panspeed Mazda RX-7
1:54.973 - 5ZIGEN Honda Civic

Track is Okutama, Grand Prix

Strength
  • The best launch acceleration (same as Impreza)
  • Excellent overall acceleration (1st to 5th gear, comparable with Civic & RX-7)
  • Excellent low and high speed stability
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Easy to drive

Weakness
  • Very poor turn-in ability at corners (worst than Impreza)
  • Performs poorly at high speed turns
  • Too low ride height, car begins to hit pavement in certain corners

Strength description
Like the Impreza, it's 4WD traction gives the car the best launch acceleration, combined with it's overall acceleration which is as good as Civic/RX-7, it smokes everyone at the start. It's 4WD drivetrain provides great traction and stability for all types of corners and this makes it easy to drive.

Beneficial tracks
Low speed – Circuit of the Americas, Yas Marina, Autódromo do Algarve

Weakness description
The R32 can barely turn and you might want to avoid corners. It's very poor at turning into corners. It can't perform well at high speed turns due to it's massive understeer. The ride height of this car is very low, causing the bottom to constantly hit the road in certain sloped tracks such as Okutama and this affects the car when it's turning.

Tracks to avoid
High Speed - Brands Hatch
Sloped turns - Okutama

Tips & Precautions
While it's similar to the Impreza, you have to take note of it's huge understeer compared to the Impreza which is tame incomparison. Brake early and only full throttle when you are sure to clear the turn without hitting the wall. Control the throttle to keep the understeer under control. For low speed turns, tap the handbrake to put the car into a drift and let the 4WD traction do it's job.

Tuning Potential
Reduce the downforce since this car doesn't need it. Increase rear brake bias to reduce it's understeer at corner entry and have a more oversteer setup.
Supercar Category part 1 (Street)

Track is Circuit of the Americas, GP Circuit

NOTE: Due to section character limit, supercar category is split into 2 parts. Part 1 is Viper, Huayra and Furai, part 2 is One-77, MP4-12c and SLS AMG Black.

Times:
1:56.756 - Aston Martin One-77 (PART 2)
1:56.318 - Mclaren MP4-12c (PART 2)
1:55.959 - Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Black Series (PART 2)
1:55.947 - Pagani Huayra (PART 1)
1:55.311 - Mazda Furai (PART 1)
1:55.174 - SRT Viper GTS (PART 1)

All 6 cars are grinded until the best possible times is obtained. Automatic transmission was used for Viper, Furai and One-77 while manual transmission was used in the Huayra, MP4-12c and SLS AMG Black.

SRT Viper GTS

Strength
  • Excellent overall acceleration
  • Excellent turn-in ability at corners
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Excellent brakes
  • Excellent stability at low speeds

Weakness
  • Slight tendency to drift at exits
  • Car can be unpredictable

Strength description
A combination of acceleration and handling makes the Viper a car that you should not underestimate. It turns into corners well and has great traction at corner exits. It has the best brakes and it's stable at low speed turns. And it only cost 75,000.

Beneficial tracks
Almost every track in Grid Autosport

Weakness description
It does still have a slight tendency to drift at exits if you are not careful with the throttle Another thing to note that this car can be unpredictable, especially really bumpy roads. Any sudden throttle or bumps can suddenly send a car into a huge drift which can cost speed and your pace.

Tracks to avoid
Bumpy roads - San Francisco

Tips & Precautions
You can play this car safe by gripping. Gripping this car alone with it's handling and power is already very strong. To be even faster, use the weight shift from braking to slide the car a little at corner entry which further increases the car's turn-in ability. Becareful with the throttle at exits as this car still has a tendency to drift, and any sudden throttle can cause a sudden unpredictable drift. Be extra cautious with bumps on the road and keep your car as steady as possible when going through bumps in San Francisco and certain areas of the track in Dubai.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear brake bias to reduce understeer under braking. Tune the car to increase it's stability and traction. I own a fully upgraded lvl 50+ Viper and here is a video in action in Multiplayer, in Dubai with my stability tuning.

Pagani Huayra

Strength
  • Excellent stability at low speed
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Excellent turn-in ability at corners
  • Great brakes
  • Easy to drive at low speed turns

Weakness
  • Weak overall acceleration
  • Has a slight tendency to drift at high speed turns

Strength description
The Huayra has overall great handling with great turn-in ability at corners and traction at exits. It has decent brakes and great stability at low speed turns. And the main strength of this car is that it's quite easy to drive at multiple low speed turns.

Beneficial tracks
Corners - Circuit of the Americas, Chicago, San Francisco

Weakness description
The Huayra has weak acceleration at high speeds. It also has a tendency to drift at high speed turns. As the speed increases, the more drifty the car becomes.

Tracks to avoid
Straights - Indianapolis, Mount Panorama, Spa GP

Tips & Precautions
To play the car safe, grip as much as possible. Don't be afraid to full throttle if the car slides a little as this car is very forgiving and you won't lose much if it drifts plus it's great traction can still propel the car at corner exits. For a more risky style, perform a smooth low angle drift, especially for sharp turns and let the car's traction do the work. Do not overdo the drift angle.

Tuning Potential
The car is almost at it's best stock. It is up to the player for a more stable setup or a more oversteer setup.

Mazda Furai

Strength
  • Excellent stability at medium to high speeds
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Excellent turn-in ability at corners
  • Excellent brakes
  • Easy to drive at high speeds turns

Weakness
  • Weak overall acceleration
  • High tendency to drift a low speed turns
  • Unstable at low speed turns
  • Unforgiving if the car drifts

Strength description
The Mazda Furai is the king of cornering, especially medium to high speed turns with it's great stability and traction. The higher the speed, the more stable the car becomes due to downforce. It's excellent at turning into corners and it has great brakes. It's also very easy to drive at medium-high speed turns.

Beneficial tracks
Medium-high speed - Chicago, Washington, Barcelona, Brands Hatch GP, Circuit of the Americas

Weakness description
Although still fast at low speed turns, the Furai isn't that stable and can be unpredictable at low speed turns due to a lack of downforce. And if the car drifts, you will lose a lot of speed and pace. There is a chance of not recovering from the drift. It's acceleration is also weak.

Tracks to avoid
Straights - Indianapolis, Autosport Raceway, Spa GP

Tips & Precautions
Do not drift this car, period. The car is unpredictable at low speed turns so be extra careful with the throttle. Also becareful when the car shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear at low speed turns, the shifting can cause the car to suddenly drift.

Tuning Potential
The car is almost at it's best stock. However, players can choose to further increase the stability by sacrificing the turn-in ability at corners.
Supercar Category part 2 (Street)

Aston Martin One-77

Strength
  • Excellent overall acceleration

Weakness
  • Poor Brakes
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Poor traction at corner exits
  • Has a tendency to drift at corner exits

Strength description
Unfortunately, the only strength this One-77 has is it's acceleration comparable with the SLS AMG Black and Viper.

Beneficial tracks
Straights - Mount Panorama, Spa GP

Weakness description
The One-77 is not good at corners at all. It doesn't turn-in into corners well and has very poor traction at exits. It also has a tendency to drift which doesn't help it's poor exit traction. And it does not have the brakes to stop all of that power. And it cost 1,200,000.

Tracks to avoid
Tracks that has corners.

Tips & Precautions
At low speed, the understeer on this car is huge and you have to drift it at entry. However the exit traction is realy poor and you will have to grip as much as possible for the best possible traction. Brake very early as this car has very weak brakes.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear brake bias to reduce it's understeer at corners. It's up to the player for a more stable setup or a more oversteer setup.

Mclaren MP4-12c

Strength
  • Decent overall acceleration
  • Great brakes
  • Great turn-in ability at corners

Weakness
  • Very drift dependent car at high speeds turns
  • Poor traction at corner exits
  • High tendency to drift at corner exits

Strength description
The MP4-12c is overall a decent car with decent acceleration and handling. It has great brakes with great turn-in ability at corners. But the best thing about this car is, it's fun to drive with it's tail happy style handling.

Beneficial tracks
Corners - Chicago

Weakness description
The MP4-12c is a very drift dependent car at high speeds. While the drifting is very manageable and fun, it hurts the exit speed of the car. Exit traction isn't that good since it relies on a slight drift. The higher the speed, the more drifty the car gets and you have to balance between drifting to turn better at exits or gripping for better exit speed.

Tracks to avoid
High Speed - Brands Hatch GP, Okutama

Tips & Precautions
Drifting is forgiving with this car, and you can drift a little at low speed turns or you can rely fully on grip. High speed however, drifting is almost unavoidable and keep the drifting at minimum as possible for the maximum possible traction and exit speed. Try to initate the drift early at high speed turns for a smooth drift flow, you do not want to drift a little too late which will cause you to go off track. There is always a safe style of driving by just gripping fully, but you won't be fast for the high speed turns.

Tuning Potential
You want to tune this car for more high speed stability and exit traction.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Black Series

Strength
  • Excellent overall acceleration
  • Excellent brakes
  • Great traction at corner exits

Weakness
  • Very High tendency to drift a low speed turns
  • Unstable at low speed turns
  • Car drifts very easily under slight steering and heavy braking
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Car can be unpredictable

Strength description
The SLS AMG has both the power on the straights and the brakes to stop all of that power. It's has decent traction at corner exits provided the car is gripping.

Beneficial tracks
Long straights - Mount Panorama, Spa GP, Indianapolis

Weakness description
This car does not perform well at low speeds. It has a very high tendency to drift at low speeds, and it's not stable. It also does not turn-in well into corners. Perhaps the biggest weakness is that the car is unstable under braking and turning at the same time. The car will drift if the car isn't straight under braking. This makes the car very unpredictable to drive.

Tracks to avoid
Bumpy Roads - San Francisco
Multiple corners - Barcelona, Washington

Tips & Precautions
Avoid drifting in this car and grip as much as possible. This car can make full use of it's traction and power when gripping. Be extra careful when braking the car drifts too easily under braking. Brake early and keep the car as straight as possible.

Tuning Potential
Increase front brake bias to solve it's brake-drifting problem. Tune the car to increase it's stability and reduce it's tendency to drift at corners.
Hypercar Category (Street)

Track is Washington, Grand Prix Circuit

Times:
1:42.667 - Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
1:42.643 - Mclaren P1
1:41.817 - Koenigsegg Agera R
1:41.701 - Zenvo ST1 (Road & Track Pack)
1:41.327 - Pagani Zonda Revolucion

Manual transmission was used in the Mclaren P1, Zenvo ST1 and Koenigsegg Agera R run.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport

Strength
  • Excellent launch acceleration
  • Great overall acceleration
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Excellent low and high speed stability
  • Easy to drive

Weakness
  • Poor Brakes
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Performs poorly at high speed corners
  • Performs poorly at long corners

Strength description
With 4WD drivetrain, the Veyron has both the launch acceleration and stability in low and high speed corners. It's traction at corner exits is also great and very easy to drive thanks to it's 4WD drivetrain. It also has great overall acceleration both at low and high speeds.

Beneficial tracks
Low speed - Circuit of the Americas, San Francisco

Weakness description
This braking power on this car is poor due to it's heavy weight. It also does not turn in well into corners and it's high speed cornering performance is poor as well. Also the longer the corner, the more disadvantage the car gets and the understeer of the car increase, both low and high speed turns. So it's best to use the car in short 90 degree turns.

Tracks to avoid
High Speed - Okutama, Spa GP, Brands Hatch GP

Tips & Precautions
Don't drift the car too much for low speed short turns like 90 degree turns and make use of it's traction. This car will understeer heaviliy at entry under braking and at exits. So you have to brake early. Tap the handbrake if the car understeers too much at the mid corner. You can also let go the throttle to reduce the understeer. At high speed, weight shift to drift the car for a moment before gripping at exits. Don't drift for too long or you will lose corner exit speed.

Tuning Potential
This car is already almost at it's best stock, it's up to the player for a more oversteer setup or a more stable setup.

Koenigsegg Agera R

Strength
  • Fastest overall acceleration on straights
  • Decent high speed stability
  • Great at high speed corners

Weakness
  • High tendency to drift at low speed corners
  • Poor stability at low speed corners
  • Poor traction at corner exits
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Requires drifting

Strength description
Like in Grid 2, Agera R is the king of acceleration on the straights. Surprisingly, it performs decently well at high speed corners. The handling of this car, the faster the speed the more stable the car becomes.

Beneficial tracks
Long straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama, Indianapolis
High speed - Okutama
Special (uphill slopes) - San Francisco

Weakness description
With the amount of power and acceleration, it's no surprise this car will drift at low speed corners. It doesn't turn well into corners either and you have to use some of that power to reduce it's understeer. With it's high tendency to drift and power, it's exit traction is very poor and it could easily send the car to a drift if not careful. Lastly, this car is a very drift dependent car to cope it's heavy understeer at low-medium speed turns.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed - Circuit of the Americas, Chicago, Barcelona, Yas Marina

Tips & Precautions
There are 2 ways to drive this car, the safe way or the high risk way. In the safe way, grip the car as much as possible without any sort of drifting and exit the turn with grip. Brake early before the turn and control your throttle. The high risk way is to involve a touch of drifting in both low and high speed turns. In low speed, use the car's power to kick the rear and perform a smooth low angle drift with full throttle until the exit. Becareful, if you overdo the drift you will lose speed. For high speed, start a drift before the turn and then grip exit. Drifting the car can be trickly at high speeds because the car is stable at high speeds. Having a mix of the safe and high risk method is the best way to drive this car.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear bias to reduce it's understeer at entry. Tune the car to increase it's stability and traction.

Pagani Zonda Revolucion

Strength
  • Excellent turn-in ability at corners
  • Excellent brakes
  • Great traction at corner exits
  • Excellent at both low and high speed corners

Weakness
  • Weak overall acceleration (4th gear onwards)
  • Has a tendency to drift at both low and high speed turns

Strength description
The Pagani Zonda Revolucion is the king of handling in this category. This car can turn into corners much faster than the other 3. It's excellent at both low and high speed corners and with great traction. It has great brakes and is easy to drive.

Beneficial tracks
Corners - Barcelona, Washington, Circuit of the Americas, Chicago

Weakness description
The Zonda's overall acceleration is weak and it gets weaker at high speeds. It has a tendency to drift at both low and high speeds but they are easily manageable.

Tracks to avoid
Long Straights - Mount Panorama, Indianapolis

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting as minimum as possible. For sharp turns, slightly drift the car at entry and then grip at exits, the same method applies for high speed for the best cornering speed.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to increase it's stability and reduce it's tendency to drift

Mclaren P1

Strength
  • Great overall acceleration
  • Great brakes
  • Great turn-in ability at corners
  • Great at high speed corners
  • Decent traction at corner exits

Weakness
  • High tendency to drift both low and high speed corners
  • Poor stability at low speed corners
  • Requires drifting

Strength description
The P1 has both great acceleration and overall handling. It has great brakes and turn-in ability at corners. It also performs great at high speed corners.

Beneficial tracks
High speed - Okutama, Spa GP

Weakness description
This car drifts way too much. And it also requires a touch of drift to be fast both low and high speed.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed – Yas Marina Circuit, Chicago, Washington

Tips & Precautions
You will need manual transmission to drive this car because automatic downshifts the car too early which causes the car to drift easily. Drift slightly at entry and grip at exits for both low and high speed corners. Keep the drift angle as minimum as possible and don't overdo the drift angle or you lose speed.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to increase stability and reduce it's tendency to drift.

  • Car begins to drift under heavy braking
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Performs poorly at high speed corners

Strength description
The fastest acceleration with the fastest launch in the JDM category, suitable for tracks with long straights.

Beneficial tracks
Long Straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama, Indianapolis

Weakness description
The RX-7 has a tendency to drift at low speed corners, combined with it's poor turn-in ability, it's not well suited for low corners. It's poor turn-in ability also affects it's high speed cornering performance. Under heavy braking, the car begins to drift and this effect is worsen with the car's tendency to drift at low speed corners.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed - Yas Marina, Circuit of the Americas
High speed - Okutama Sprint, Brands Hatch GP

Tips & Precautions
Brake early and keep the car as straight as possible to prevent the car from drifting under heavy braking. Keep drifting as minimum as possible. However for low speed sharp turns, a slight drift is required to overcome it's understeer, and then quickly stop the drift and grip at exit for the best possible cornering speed and exit.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to have more stability to decrease it's tendency to drift. You might want for front brake bias so it's more stable at corner entry.

Honda S2000

Strength

Beneficial tracks
Almost all track

Weakness description
It's overall acceleration is weak on the straights and climbing uphills, so you want to avoid tracks with long straightways.

Tracks to avoid
Long straights - Mount Panorama, Spa GP

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting as minimum as possible and grip as much as possible for maximum traction. For certain very sharp low speed corners, drift slightly and then grip at the exits.

Tuning Potential
The S2000 is already almost perfect at stock, it's up to the player to prefer more stability or more oversteer. Note that increasing it's stability sacrifices a lot of it's turn-in ability, especially tight turns.

Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R Aero

Strength
  • Excellent high speed stability
  • Excellent at high speed corners

Weakness
  • Weak overall acceleration
  • Weakest launch acceleration
  • Has a slight tendency to drift at low speed corners
  • Poor turn-in ability at low speed corners
  • Requires drifting for low speed sharp turns

Strength description
The Silvia's amazing stability at high speed turns makes it an excellent car for high speed turn, and that is the only strength this car has.

Beneficial tracks
High speed - Okutama Sprint, Brands Hatch GP

Weakness description
Despite it's excellent performance for high speed, it doesn't perform well in low speed. Drifting is required for it's poor turn-in ability at low speed turns. It still have a tendency to drift at low speed corners if you are not careful. It also has the weakest launch acceleration combined with poor overall acceleration, it's not great on the straights.

Tracks to avoid
Low Speed – Yas Marina, Sepang, Circuit of the Americas
Long straights – Mount Panorama, Spa GP, Indianapolis

Tips & Precautions
For low speed turns, you have to drift the car slightly, and then grip at the corner exits for the best cornering speed. But for high speed turns, keep drifting as minimum as possible and let it's stability do the work.

Tuning Potential
Tuning can be a bit trickly with this car, you either decrease it's overall stability so it can turn-in into low speed corners better or increase it's overall stability to decrease it's tendency to drift and rely more on the drifting the car at corner entry.

The Mustang has the weakest overall acceleration, although it's becomes strong at 6th gear, it still not enough to compensate it's weak acceleration from 1st to 5th gear.

Tracks to avoid
Straights - Indianapolis, Autosport Raceway, Spa GP

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting as minimum as possible for medium speed corners and grip as much as possible. For low speed turns, drift slightly but do not overdo the drift. Then grip at exits to make use of the car's good traction.

Tuning Potential
Increase rear brake bias so that the car can begin to slide for sharp turns. Tune the car to increase stability and corner exit traction.

Dodge Challenger SRT8

Strength
  • Excellent acceleration overall acceleration (requires manual for 5th gear)

Weakness
  • Very high tendency to drift at low-medium speed corners
  • Poor traction at corner exits
  • Poor turn-in ability at corners
  • High chance of spinning out at low speed corners
  • Performs poorly at high speed corners

Strength description
The Challenger has incredible acceleration and it could gain an advantage from short straights alone from it's acceleration. However to maintain it's acceleration, it requires manual transmission for the 5th gear, otherwise the acceleration is significantly reduced if you do not shift early at 5th gear.

Beneficial tracks
Straights - Indianapolis, Autosport Raceway, Spa GP

Weakness description
This car has a very high tendency to drift at corners, to the point where it's almost unavoidable for low-medium speed corners. It's exit traction at corner exits is poor with it's constant drifting. It also does not perform well at high speed corners with it's tendency to drift and poor turn-in ability.

Tracks to avoid
Multiple low speed corners – Circuit of the Americas, Yas Marina Circuit
High Speed Corners - Brands Hatch GP, Okutama Sprint

Tips & Precautions
Drifting is a must for low speed turns. Keep the drifting under control and do not overdo the drift and spin out. As mentioned before, drifting is almost unavoidable, for medium speed turns try to keep the drift as smooth as possible throughout the corner, then grip at exits for the best possible traction. Also, it is recommended to use manual transmission to maintain it's amazing acceleration by shifting early for the 5th gear only.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to increase stability and corner exit traction. Increase rear bias to reduce understeer at corner entry. You might want to increase the gear ratio for slightly better top speed and traction with a taller gear.

Ford Mustang Boss 302 Modified

Strength
  • Great overall acceleration
  • Excellent Brakes
  • Excellent turn-in ability into corners
  • Great low and high speed stability
  • Excellent traction at corner exits
  • Excellent at high speed corners
  • Easiest to drive

Weakness

Beneficial tracks
Every track in Grid Autosport

Weakness description
There are no weaknesses.

Tracks to avoid
None

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting as minimal as possible for medium speed turns. For low speed sharp turns, don't be afraid to drift the car a little, as this car has amazing exit traction but don't overdo it.

Tuning Potential
The car is already almost at it's best at stock, but it's up to the player's choice to increase the stability of the car or maintain the car's ability to drift.

Chevrolet Camaro SS Modified

Strength
  • The fastest acceleration on straights

Weakness
  • Very weak brakes
  • High tendency to drift at low speed corners
  • Very poor corner exit traction
  • Very poor turn-in ability at corners
  • Performs poorly at high speed corners
  • Requires drifting to turn corners better

Strength description
The Camaro is a powerhouse beast on the straights as it could quickly reach it's top speed in the straights.

Beneficial tracks
Long Straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama, Indianapolis

Weakness description
Unfortunately, the Camaro's handling is a nightmare. It has a high tendency to drfit at low speed corners and it has very poor traction at corner exits. It's ability to turn-in into corners is poor which makes this car performs poorly at high speed turns. Drifting is required to turn into corners better and reduce understeer but this can easily slow the car down even more if the drift is overdone.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed - Circuit of the Americas, Chicago, Yas Marina Circuit
High speed - Brands Hatch GP, Okutama

Tips & Precautions
You will have to slightly drift this car at corner entry to reduce it's understeer and grip as much as possible at corner exits. Do not overdo the drift angle, keep the angle as minimum as possible. This car has very weak brakes, combined with the car's poor turn-in ability, so brake very early before entering corners, earlier than what the racing line indicates.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to increase it's stability and solve it's poor traction at corner exits. You can increase the gear ratio for better top speed and traction since this car is already very powerful.

Honda S2000 Modified

Strength
  • Great low speed stability
  • Great brakes
  • Excellent turn-in ability into corners
  • Great traction at corner exits

Weakness
  • Weak overall acceleration
  • Has high tendency to drift at both low and high speed corner exits
  • High chance of overdrifting or spinning out

Strength description
The S2000 has great turn-in ability into corners combined with it's low speed stability, it can take on multiple low speed corners. It's has great traction at corner exits provided it's weakness of drifting at corner exits is controlled.

Beneficial tracks
Low speed multiple corners - Circuit of the Americas, Washington, Yas Marina Circuit

Weakness description
With it's lack of power, it has the weakest acceleration on the straights. However the main weakness is this car has a very high tendency to drift at corner exits, both low and high speeds. Another major weakness is if the car overdrifts slightly, it will lose a lot of speed and possibly spinning out.

Tracks to avoid
Long Straights – Spa GP, Mount Panorama, Indianapolis, Autosport Raceway

Tips & Precautions
Keep drifting as minimum as possible and grip as much as possible. Control your steering and throttle to prevent the car from drifting at corner exits so that it's exit traction can be used. If the car begins to drift, don't let it overdrift as it can cause massive speed loss and there is a possibility of spinning out.

Tuning Potential
Tune the car to reduce it's tendency to drift at corner exits.
Super Modified Category (Tuner)

Track is Okutama, Grand Circuit

Times:
1:55.989 - Auto Gallery Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R (Road and Track Pack)
1:55.655 - Tomei Cusco Subaru Impreza WRX
1:55.010 - Panspeed Mazda RX-7
1:54.973 - 5ZIGEN Honda Civic

The Tomei Cusco Impreza had the most attempts in this video.

5ZIGEN Honda Civic

Strength
  • Great acceleration on straights
  • Stable at both low and high speed corners
  • Has great turn-in ability at corner entry
  • Excellent at high speed corners

Weakness
  • Weakest launch acceleration
  • Poor traction at low speed corner exits
  • Poor traction on bumpy road surface

Strength description
The Civic is a versatile car with it's both low speed and high speed stability. The Civic performs at it's best at high speed with it's stability and turn-in ability. It has great acceleration on the straights and power to climb up slopes. It's turn-in ability is also great at tackling 90° turns.

Beneficial tracks
Medium speed – Barcelona, Chicago, Red Bull Ring
High Speed – Okutama Grand Circuit, Sprint Circuit, Brands Hatch GP

Weakness description
Althougth the Civic is stable at low speeds, it's traction is poor at low speed turns and you want to avoid low speed tracks. This car also can't gain good traction on bumpy road surfaces and sloped corners.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed – Circuit of the Americas
Bumpy Roads – San Francisco

Tips & Precautions
The Honda Civic has a high tendency to have lift-off oversteer. You want to keep that to the minimum. Being a FWD, brake early before entering into a corner, then turn-in without throttle or braking to minimise understeer. Full throttle during the mid-corner and if your car understeers, release the throttle.

Tuning Potential
This car does not need so much downforce since it's a FWD car. Reduce it for extra acceleration on straights.

Panspeed Mazda RX-7

Strength
  • The fastest acceleration on straights
  • Great launch acceleration
  • Stable high speed corners
  • Excellent at high speed corners

Weakness
  • High tendency to drift at low and medium speed corners

Strength description
The RX-7 performs at it's best with tracks that have high speed corners due to it's high speed stability. It also prefers tracks with long straights as it has the best acceleration and can easily reach top speed. The higher the speed, the more stable the car gets due to downforce.

Beneficial tracks
Long Straights - Spa GP, Mount Panorama
High Speed – Okutama Grand Circuit, Sprint Circuit, Brands Hatch GP

Weakness description
You generally want to avoid low speed tracks with the RX-7 due to it's high tendency of drifting at low speeds. Sloped turns and bumpy road surfaces can be a nightmare for the RX-7.

Tracks to avoid
Low speed – Circuit of the Americas, Yas Marina
Bumpy Roads – San Francisco
Sloped Turns – Circuit Mont Tremblant

Tips & Precautions
To be fast with this car, especially low speeds, keep drifting to the minimum and grip at corner exits. You will need to control the throttle to keep this car under control from drifting. Do not worry much on high speed corners as the downforce of the RX-7 can keep the car stick on the road.

Tuning Potential
You definitely want to tune this car to increase it's stability and exit traction at low speed turns. You can increase the downforce of this car to further increase it's high speed stability as the RX-7 is already very powerful on straights.

Tomei Cusco Subaru Impreza WRX

Strength
  • The best launch acceleration
  • Great low to medium speed acceleration (1st gear to 4th gear)
  • Excelent low and high speed stability
  • Excellent corner exit traction
  • Easy to drive at full throttle with 4WD traction

Weakness
  • Weakest high-speed acceleration (5th gear onwards)
  • Performs poorly at high speed corners
  • Does not turn-in well at corner entry

Strength description
The Impreza is extremely easy to drive with it's 4WD. It's incredible exit cornering traction is the best strength of the Impreza. It has insane launch acceleration which that alone can give you a huge lead. It's stability and traction makes it well suited for low speed turns, bumpy tracks and sloped turns.

Beneficial tracks
Low speed Sharp Turns – Circuit of the Americas, Yas Marina, Autódromo do Algarve
Bumpy Roads – San Francisco
Sloped Turns – Circuit Mont Tremblant

Weakness description
With it's poor high speed acceleration, you want to avoid tracks with long straights. It's high end acceleration is so poor that even slipstream can't keep up with the other 2 cars. The Impreza understeers and doesn't turn-in well at high speed cornering. This car will punish you if you brake too late into a corner.

Tracks to avoid
High Speed – Okutama Grand Circuit, Brands Hatch
Long Straights – Spa GP, Mount Panorama

Tips & Precautions
There is nothing much you can do to solve the Impreza's understeer problems at high speed corners. You can control the understeer by letting go the throttle. This car also understeers quite heavily at corner entry, so brake early. Don't be afraid to tap the handbrake at low speed sharp turns to reduce the understeer and put it into a drift, the 4WD traction will recover the car propel the car out of the exits.

Tuning Potential
You want to increase the oversteer in the Impreza. Also set the brake bias to rear so the understeer is reduced at corner entry. The car is already stable, so reduce downforce for slightly better straightway acceleration.
