T-300C Garuda

Earlier engagements with enemy fighters made it apparent that conventional propeller craft could not compare with advanced jet engine technology. Aviation Engineers of the Republic, limited with the technology they had, were tasked with the impossible challenge of creating a prop fighter than could compete with their far more advanced adversaries. Crippling losses spurred military leaders to entertain even the wildest of concepts with the T-300 being among the wildest.

A fighter unlike any other, the T-300 quickly surpassed expectations as the one and only fighter that could contend not only with enemy jets but could also engage helicopters as a VTOL craft. One particular advantage was that the main rotors could apply downward force at any time, enabling the craft to perform sharper banking and better recovery from diving style attacks.

The T-300C is the carrier capable version of earlier models, equipped with connectors, grippers and, a retractable fuel probe making it compatible with both oceangoing and aerial carriers.

Power Unit:
1 antiquated medium engine

Armament:
twin Light auto cannons with precision long barrels
anti-material rockets

Open power breaker
Increase throttle and turn key to ON
Activate Gyro
Engage Rotor Clutch and craft is now VTOL capable
Engage Prop Clutch to begin forward flight. (rear yaw fan will disengage when forward prop more than .50)
Gyro should be disengaged in full forward flight or a pilots discretion.

GYRO CAN BECOME DISORIENTED IN EXTREME MANEUVERS.
Should this occur, pilot should flash gyro (toggle on and off) to reset.

MAKE SURE GYRO IS ON WHEN RETURNING TO VTOL FLIGHT OR LOSS OF CONTROL MAY OCCUR

Weapons must be selected from the weapons control panel or they will not fire. Once either is activated, pilot should use targeting monitor to sight ordnance.

Auto cannons are preset to switch drums automatically when empty.
