Welcome!

Welcome to my mod list! I have compiled this over the course of playing 200 hours. It's aduIt-oriented but there are also mods for everything else pertaining to the game.

Followers, better magic, archery overhauls, better weather and skies, physics & interaction, combat mods, immersion, armors, graphics, high-res textures, quests, expansions, and so much more!

I have provided links for all the mods except only a few unessential ones and if you do some digging on the links I provided I'm sure you can find them if you want. I will not be making a list anywhere other than here on Steam.

This list is for people with higher end rigs and who don't mind if things get a little depraved.

Installation

Check to make sure you have 120gb of free space.

First thing you should do is start a new game. Get through the opening scene, make a character, save, then exit. You can edit your character later using the console command showracemenu

Start by downloading all of the mods with your preferred mod manager. I use Vortex[www.nexusmods.com]. When asked what order you want to put the mods in use the recommendations that it provides you.

It's a good idea to install mods in batches of 1 - 5 and then testing the game to make sure you don't have any problems.

Make sure to watch out for "Missing Masters" warning from Vortex and installing those mod requirements so your mods work right. Use the links listed here instead of Nexus to make sure you get the right VR compatible versions.

Always get the SE version of the mods unless there is a specific VR version or the mod requires both versions like Racemenu. LE/AE mod versions are not compatible with Skyrim VR!

There are a few mods you need to turn into tools on your mod manager. They are:

- Fores New Idles in Skyrim SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SkyrimVR\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISForUsers.exe
(Install mod as normal and then add this tool to your mod manager)

You need to run FNIS every time you install or uninstall an animation mod otherwise your NPC's will T-Pose. If you load a save and your NPC's are T-posing and you ran FNIS after installing the mod it means there's something wrong with the mod or your load order. Remove it and move on.

- SKSEVR
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SkyrimVR\sksevr_loader.exe
(You just drop these files[skse.silverlock.org] into your Skyrim VR folder then add the tool with your mod manager to launch the game. Use the VR version!)

- Bodyslide SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SkyrimVR\Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide\BodySlide x64.exe
(install this mod as normal and then add this tool to your mod manager)

- TexGen
whateverfolder\TexGenx64.exe
(Dyndolod 3.0[www.nexusmods.com])

- DynDoLod v3
whateverfolder\DynDOLODx64.exe

Unzip DynDoLOD 3.0 into a folder and then add these tools to your mod manager. You will install their output .zips later.

^What the tools look like when installed properly using the "Add-tool" button in Vortex. You only need the last 5 I just listed.

Once you've got your tools set up and all your mods installed...

Run FNIS. Click the button for patching Archery Gameplay Overhaul, GENDER specific animations, and SKELETON arm fix. Next click Update FNIS behavior. Let it run. Do this every time you install or uninstall an animation mod otherwise you'll get T-posing NPC's. You'll know it works when it says it's loaded thousands of animations with 0 errors.

SKSEVR is your launch method. Always launch the game using the SKSEVR button on your mod manager.

Bodyslide is how you can edit the body shapes of your player and NPC's and also fit various types of clothing and armor to whatever body style you want.

Texgen and Dyndolod are for the DynDoLOD mod. This improves how the game looks at a distance. Now let's install it:

FIRST: DEACTIVATE UNOFFICIAL SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION PATCH AND RE ENABLE IT ONCE YOU ARE DONE CONFIGURING AND INSTALLING DYNDOLOD!!!

Follow this guide on how to install it and use Medium settings. You do not have to worry about using billboards if you are using 3.0 though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K9Q-WdJkNA

You basically just run Texgen, install the output .zip as a mod, then run Dyndolod, and install that output as another mod. Watch the video for more details. Remember to re-enable Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch when you're done.

Open FSR can be dropped into your Skyrim VR installation folder after renaming openvr_api.dll to something like openvr_apiOLD.dll to keep it as a back up. This will improve the performance of the game: https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr

Navigate to My Documents/My Games/SkyrimVR and open SkyrimVR.ini with notepad and add this to the file:

[VRUI] fUIMistMenu_MaxModelSize=655.0000 fUIMistMenu_CameraFOV_G=30.0000

Animations need to be loaded from the SLAnimLoader from within the MCM menu within the game. If you don't do this they won't show up. ZaZ animations have their own MCM menu animation loader so check there after doing this. Click Enable All. Wait for it to load. Click Register New Animations. Wait for it to load. Click Count Animations. Again, wait. There should be hundreds of animations loaded if successful. These three steps can take several minutes so be patient. You can look at your console to watch the progress if you want.

Go into the game settings, select VR Performance, turn OFF Dynamic Resolution.
Turn OFF TAA if you want the 'Parallax shader fix' to work properly. Play around with on/off until you see what you like better.

TAA Off = You'll actually see rocks protruding from walls.
TAA On = Those walls will be flat but vegetation wont flicker as much and some other textures might load weird.

If you keep TAA on you should disable the VR Parallax Shader Fix mod.

I prefer TAA = on and the VR Parallax Shader Fix mod disabled personally.

If you get SKSE 64 errors or similar in Vortex you can ignore them. If you get a SrtCrashFix64 error when launching you can ignore that too.

You should end up with just under 255 plugins in your mod manager. Do NOT go over the 255 plugin limit otherwise the game will not load them.

Now you're ready to play! You will have to do a lot of customization to the MCM menu options until you get all the mods to your liking but that's part of the fun :) If you have any questions, first, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! Look up the mod information on the links you downloaded them from!

Make sure you download all of them so you don't run into any issues with missing mod requirements.

PC Specs and Settings

I use a Valve Index at 120hz and 150% resolution multiplication. If performance isn't optimal, turn down resolution multiplication and/or your refresh rate until it's where you want it.

I have a 3090, i7 12700k, 16gb ram and get 120 fps indoors and 60 fps outdoors and I can run the game for hours continuously without crashing.

Papyrus errors?

Papyrus errors are common because installing it can be confusing. If you get papyrus errors check to make sure you have these mod requirements:

VR address library
powerofthree's tweaks VR
Address library for SKSE plugins

Added link to older version of USSEP in case any one needs it. I'm hearing reports the newest version is no longer compatible with Skyrim VR. I'm currently using 4.2.6a
