sidenote: it doesn't matter what keepsake you choose but id avoid choosing anything other than lands between rune,golden seed or the medallion

First you need to choose what interests you? do you think melee is cool? do you think being a mage is cool? etc etc pick whatever class interests you as i will have a section for a bunch of builds you can go for

After getting clapped by grafted scion head down the hole to your right if you wanna get the hang of the controls or if you want to be an absolute chad skip the tutorial and figure out the controls on the way

Firstly we need torrent and the spirit bell to do that after exiting the area after dying when you see white mask man stick to the left side of the area, avoiding the tree sentinel and touch the grace when you get to the church, you can speak to Santa Claus,the merchant,he doesn't have anything really good for sale but i'd come back for that juicy crafting kit he offers after you get some runes, after speaking to him(or not)there will be a forest in front of you, run past the guards until you reach a hill where you can see ruins with a bunch of guards grab the site of grace beside the gate,rest at it,meet your new waifu and get your horse then after speaking to her pass time till nightfall and look left towards the area with the guards there will be a few important things we need to grab before we get the bell firstly a map of limgrave,the area you are in right now,look for the pillar and beneath it is a map if you don't know where the pillar is press G to go into your map and if you didn't grab the map already there will be a small pillar icon on the map,this represents the pillar where you can find a map of the area and it will be in every area of the game after grabbing the map look around the area and to the top right area of the ruins(top right standing from gatefront ruins grace)there will be a staircase leading down to a basement giving you a whetstone blade this will be what you use to apply ash of war to your weapons after getting all that there is also two weapons you can find here from the site of grace at the gate you will see 2 carriages to the left side of the ruins the closest one has a greatsword which is a good start for strength builds and the furthest one has a flail which is a decent weapon to use for the dragon exploit we will use after getting all that open your map hover over to the church site of grace and press E on it to fast travel to it if its night(which is why i said rest till nightfall earlier) the witch lady will appear and give you a bell you can use to summon summons

Be warned that if you miss her and don't speak to her you wont be able to meet her there again instead you'll have to buy the bell from the babushka's at roundtable hold

Now we have got all the basic stuff here is where you need to decide on your playstyle and choose the section of the guide that interests you

Flask of wondrous physick can be found at third church of marika use map for referance
Before picking a build
First we need to get levels so you can pick the stats for the build gear to do this we will murder a sleeping dragon and eliminate all witnesses

First you will need a bleed weapon(weapon that inflicts blood loss buildup) else this process will take hours I dont know your beginner class so i cant tell you which one to use however i will write a list of a couple early game bleed weapons i found that you can google the locations and see if they will match your stats

Uchigatana -- found in deathtouched catacombs
Flail -- found in a carriage outside gatefront ruins
Morningstar--found in a carriage across bridge of sacrifice

Make sure you have a weapon that deals bleed else get one before following this section

Route we will take

From gatefront ruins head across the bridge and follow the dirt path to the left until you reach the church grab the sacred tear left of the grace and flask in front of the grace afterwards you may notice a hole in the wall in the church front left from the grace walk out that hole to the river and turn right to see a portal behind some bushes this will teleport you to caelid a high level area of the game you normally shouldnt be in until you are high level but we will not be attacking anything here(that can fight back anyway)so it wont be a problem after teleporting get on your horse and ride past the gargoyle thing and follow the dirt path till you see a bridge with a dragon on it get the grace site in case you mess up and get back on your horse next ride past the dragon and dont worry he will be doing his animation for like 20 seconds so you can just ride past him after you reach the other end of the bridge stick to the right side and to the right of the tree is a area you can jump up to on your horse after you get up onto the ledge look left behind the tree to see an airway which if you are on your horse you can jump in it on your horse to jump up higher than normal in front of the fort ahead of you is a site of grace and a sleeping dragon

Make sure you have a bleed weapon here and if you are short of a few stats you can head into the fort to find radagons soreseal giving you +5 to 4 stats at the cost of some extra damage taken if you would like the location look it up on youtube since i cant explain in this guide how to get it and itd be easier to explain through video

ride up to the dragons tail thing and with your bleed weapon of choice in hand start beating it until it dies(trust me it wont take long if you have a bleed weapon)you will get around 65k for killing it but with a gold chicken nugget you can bump it up to 100k to get this notorious gold chicken nugget from the first step site of grace get on your horse and behind you is a cliff follow it till you get down to the beach and then facing the sea go left until you reach a part of the beach with a body with a gold fowl foot you will also see some airways to show you you are in the right part of the beach this whole thing is optional but it will give you an extra few levels then fast travel to fort faroth and kill the dragon and when its close to death use the foot and finish it for the 100k runes

there is also a black night cavalry you can use an exploit to kill easily for another 40k look up

Somber stone 1-4

Bought from warmaster iji at road to caria manor

to get to him you need to go to liurnia of the lakes(an area you are normally supposed to beat stormveil castle to get to but can be skipped)and find a gazebo with a portal in it

Where to get stones 5

Found behind a ball of faces in Swamp of Aoenia

Hard to describe this one but from the first step grace look right to the lake ruins and go there in the cellar there is a chest behind a door that has a transporter trap taking you to sellia crystal tunnel this is a very high level area so basically everything will 1 hit kill you after you get out of the shack you are teleported to look left for a little tunnel go there and down the ladder is a grace site from the grace follow the other tunnel to the exit get on your horse and follow the cliff or wall whatever you call it to the right eventually you will find a shore leading through a ravine at the end of it is your somber stone 5 and a ball of faces you can kill if you want but idk it doesn't do much other than shoot space dust out its ass?

Stones 6-7

Found on bodies in volcano manor

I will leave a video of me following the path since i tried writing it out and it took like 6 paragraphs

Important note you must get killed by the iron maidens grab attack, once you fall off the platform to the bottom any other attack wont teleport you












Video cut so this will be a two part but basically you need to jump from the peg to the wheel and look up volcano manor wheel jump because i couldnt recreate it no matter how i tried

Stones 8-9

Found on a beetle and on a body at divine tower of caelid

there will be two paths one leads to the lower part where you will found a bunch of bodies and stuff and the other path to a beetle which drops the stone when you kill it

Stone 10

it can be found at moghs palace you get there pretty early by following varre's questline

varre is the white masked guy at the start of the game after you kill godrick and speak to enia at roundtable hold find him at rose church use 3 of the fingers he gives you speak to him again and look up a maidens body location for the final part once you bring him the bloody cloth he will give you a medallion use it and follow the stairs through the mausoleum till you reach the site of grace mausoleum mid point you will see a bunch of people worshipping something there is a chest there at the front of the worshippers grab the stone from inside

The wheel jump has been fixed, so since I'm doing a RL1 run I'm trying to get a somber stone 7 too. After much research, this is what I found :
- You can still get the one in Volcano manor by killing the Godrick noble, which in a way can be done rather easily if you can get something with a sleep debuff (example sleepbone arrows). Which can be crafted with Fevor's Cookbook (2). Which is found just outside Academy of Raya Lucaria (so, easy access). Probably still the easiest stone to get.
- There are some in the sewers of the capital, you need to kill 2 of Godrick/Rennala/Radahn + the Tree sentinel
- You can also get some in Nokstella, in that case you only need to kill Radahn (but at low level you really need to cheese it or mad skill to get him)
