Just putting in these helpful worldmaps so you'll know where you're going.

Sandwich is the default food and you get it for starting the game.

Hima Inn

As soon as you enter go right from the counter and into the door, should be near a girl, disguised as a tea kettle.

Mizuho

Should be just inside the chiefs hut look for an animal trap.

Altamira

Inside the hotel on the 4th floor. You will have to rest till nighttime. Then take the elevator to the 4th floor. Look around till you see a giant green pumpkin.

Triet inn

Its on the 2nd floor of the inn. At the end of the hallway, should see a turtle shell lamp.

Zelos House

Upstairs all the way on the left, you should see a lone present.

Ozette Inn

Inside the inn at Ozette should be a parakeet bird.

Exire

On the middle floor of the 3 story house, Katz are on the top
floor and there's a woman on the bottom floor. Chef is disguised as a rheaird model.

Izoold

Inside the house next to the Katz in the back right corner, its a pelican house.

Sybak

In between two large book shelves in the library. Chef is disguised as a magazine rack (seriously how does he do it?)

Tabitha in Altessa's house

I really don't think there's a way to miss this one, I believe its story related, just talk to tabitha at a certain point and you should get it. No chef needed.

Dirks House

Inside Lloyds bedroom. Should be a birdhouse, this won't appear till after you get back from the 2nd world so don't bother going back to dirks house during sylverant.

Palmacosta Academy

Under the stairs as soon as you enter the school, should be a ball basket for shooting hoops.

Melokio

Inside the weapons shop. Should be a kitty cat.

Flanoir

Just inside the church, in the far left corner. Should be disguised as a wood box.

Heimdall

Inside the elders house, right near a bed. Its disguised as a painting.

Asgard

In the 2nd floor of Ayishas house near the bed, disguised as a phonograph.

Luin

Inside the item shop, to the left of the counter. Disguised as a huge pig with steam coming out of it.

Presea's house

Near the bed after presea rejoins you, should be a bear.

Latheon Gorge

(Regal must be on screen)
Inside the story tellers house right behind him, Disguised as a turtle/rabbit.

Meltokio

Later on in the game as Regal (gain some other regal only recipes like the last one) go to the front gates of the castle. You should see a chef if not scene will probably play automatically.

House Of Guidance (Southwest continent)

Another one you must have regal on screen to get, after heimdall is destroyed (much later in the game), go to the house of guidance. You should see a chef outside you can talk to.

House Of Guidance (Southeast continent)

Same as before in the last guidance house, go there with regal onscreen and you should see a chef after heimdalls destruction. Not to be confused with the abbey, which is also southeast, its on the mainland continent opposite of the gorge on the other side of the mountains.

Asgard

Same as the last 2 cept in sylverant this time come back with regal way late in the game. There should be a chef in front of the windmill, talk to him with regal onscreen.

Little added note if you didn't get all the recipes first playthrough but carried them over to the newplus game, after you kill the dark dragon and before you fight the final boss, last 8 of your food recipes will be reset to question marks. Don't worry they will still be in the game you just have to reclaim them. This is especially irritating for Pescatore since you you have to climb the gorge all over again (yay more irriating floating).
