WWI Portable Gramophone - Verdun

Based on the Decca Portable model gramophone, nicknamed the "Trench Decca" by soldiers, gramophones like this were marketed for their durability as well as their portability. This made them a popular and welcome gift from back home in the trenches, a gift that no doubt helped many escape the horrors of war, even if for but a brief moment, their hearts and minds filled with thoughts and memories of home with every song it played.
