Ukrainian BTR-80A - Amphibious APC

The BTR-80, and it's close counterpart the BTR-80A, (of which this creation represents) were late cold-war era armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles which transported soldiers to any position for deployment. often, these vehicles would provide fire support or direct cover for the soldiers that dismounted from it.

In the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union, satellite nations and political allies to the late regional power quickly adopted this surplus vehicle for multiple roles, with many variants being made afterwards. This specific variant was designed for infantry support and close anti-aircraft roles to defend it's troops from land, air and sea targets. The BTR-80A is armed with a 30mm 2A72 autocannon for this reason. It has a maximum speed of 85 Km/H on flat roads and 3 gear positions with top speeds of 30, 70 and 85 respectively. The BTR-80A is also capable of amphibious movement, meaning it can float and be piloted through water.

This particular creation is a near 1:1 scale remake of the BTR-80A used by the armed forces of Ukraine for military service. This vehicle recently has seen much media coverage with the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine, and although this specific example was made with Ukraine in mind, a simple removal of the flag commonly used to identify themselves easily makes this build just a plain old BTR with no specific national affiliation.

I am not entirely sure if the paint scheme as well is of soviet origin or if the Ukrainian armed forces specifically painted them this shade of green for their own use. Feel free to recolor this vehicle for your own display purposes or whatever fun you wish to have.
