A bit of history
The Vivat is a motorised modification of the legendary L13 Blaník. Blaník is a 2 seater all metal monoplane trainer glider developed in the 50s and flown all around the world thanks to it's remarkable durability and flight characteristics. Over 3000 aircraft were build between 1958 and 1978 and many of them still fly today and aviation clubs and with aerobatics groups.

Ideas to motorise were present since the beginning of the production but first official prototype build by the Kunovice factory was produced and flown in 1978. The redesigned front section featured a side by side seating instead of the tandem configuration on the L13s. A total of 164 Vivats in 6 variants were build between 1980 and 1996. Much like with the Blaník many Vivats still fly nowdays but their limited production can make it a rare sight. Every year a navigation race, called the Vivat tour, is organised in Aeroklub Tábor, near Tábor, Czech Republic - by coincidence my home airfield as well.

My goal with this build was to create a realistic experience of the plane as i've flown both the Blaník and Vivat many times. Certain things were unable to replicate to the exact detail due to the limitations of the game so I settled for a semi realistic setup so that anyone can use it while still giving you the feeling of sitting in the real plane.

In my opinion the best way to enjoy this plane is with hotas if you have, If you have a throttle lever I recommend that you change the up/down axis for the throttle on the seat to reset instead of sticky.
Manual
Startup - Parking brake - set (can be found by your left leg, red stripe) - Throttle - 1/4, then decrease as the engine heats up, closed by 120°C (up and down on the seat) - Mixture - neutral - Master switch - on - Magneto - on - Fuel valve - open - Cooling vents - shut - Hold ignition for about 2 seconds - Wait until engine temperature reaches at least 120° - Cooling vents - open - Parking brake - released Takeoff - Flaps - 1/2 - Air brake - 0 - Throttle full level the aircraft with ailerons and push it little forward onto the main wheel, then as it gains speed gently pull up After takeoff - Flaps - 0 - Throttle - cruise - +-80% or 140kph - Gear - up Landing - Flaps full - Gear down - Throttle - +-65-70% or around 100-110kph - Air brake - as needed Shutdown - Parking brake - set - Throttle - closed (0) - Fuel valve - closed - Magneto - off - Master switch - off Additional notes: - The aircraft is trimmed for cruise at 140kph with flaps and gear up, other configuration will require retrimming, you can do this by simply holding alt and adjusting the given axis, as there is no active stabilisation this is an important part of flying the Vivat - You can adjust the mixture as you feel, running a little richer mixture might yeild you greater performance but also additional heat to deal with, if you're new to flying I'd recommend just leaving it as it is - The aircraft simulates engine heat as real as we could get it, the operational limits are 120-230°C, at cruise throttle you can expect the temperature to be around 200-210°C. if you exceed these thresholds the engine will gradually loose power. The never exceed temperature is 260°C

Specifications
- Lenght - 8.5m - Wingspan - 16.75m - Empty weight - 548kg - Fuel - 334l - Top speed - 240kph - Cruise speed - 140kph - Range - 230km @140kph

Why does the engine turn off when you face upwards

I agree with @Thales, just flew it and it really does feel like a real aircraft, wish the physics of the game acted like that more.
