Mod work with landless adventurer now. You too can slain lords or help your patreon.

This mod is a continuation of DigOsho's original Battlefield Duel, which has long been abandoned, and made to work with the current version of the game. This mod is stand-alone and doesn't require the original

Everything works just as stated in the original mod's page with several adjustments to the latest mechanics

Q: How do I obtain or level up Blademaster trait?
A: Referencing the modfile "batlefield_duel_effect.txt", if enemy knight has a prowess of at least "very high rating" (18 according main game "00_basic_values.txt" file)
then you'll get the chance to. It has a 10% base chance of happening and is increased by other traits:

- Prowess education focus (+4/8/12/16% for each level)
- Shrewd (+5%)
- Any good Physique traits (Hale, Robust, Herculean) all gives 10%
- Good Intellect traits (Quick +5%, Intelligent +15%, Genius +30%)

Q: The special duel against enemy commander just stops as I clicked on it, why?
A: This used to be an intermittent bug with how the original modfiles were written and has been fixed since 1.9.
If it happens again delete the mod folder (Directory: Steam folder\steamapps\workshop\content\1158310\2749369153)
and resub the mod, then start a new game with only this mod active


Q: Does this mod works with ...?
A: Technically it should as long as said mod doesn't alter how duelling works. This mod used to clash with any other mods that altered "single_combat_event.txt" file so we made a duplicate file of it
to bypass this issue and the commander duel issue above

Q: Mod causes desync in multiplayer. Any fix?
A: I(RRxSTM) personally never played multiplayer so unfortunately it is beyond me

@mielo what issues you've run into? Please explain further

I'd look into the file "battlefield_duel_single_combat.txt" and compare it with vanilla files "single_combat.txt" in Notepad++ to see if there is any difference (other than the changed event names)

Maybe similar case to the Adventurers update where all you need is to add government type flag so landless players can duel

The mod usually don't have any issue unless there are some knight code overhaul or combat change. Like usually vanilla ignore commander. Unless they make it more RPG like there no problem (like game of throne did add dragon and specific event for duelling them and get burned through specific interaction.)

I've quickly skimmed through the code. From what I can see with no dominion over it, nothing should've broken (other than maybe government type flags, but they seem to only reference "tribal" specifically).

I wonder if the mod have truly broken down. Do it usually break on major updates?

It seems game version 1.18 has been released. Give us about a week or two to test the water (especially since I don't have AUH) and let us know if there are issues introduced with the update

Again please backup the modfiles elsewhere if you'd like to continue playing in previous version

If I have to guess you're having mod conflict because duels don't happen. Duel events can only be triggered when you're past the skirmish phase of battle and you can look in the event file

@Rinu its somewhere in the common folder about the character interaction

Please be aware that changing the rate will disturb the sequence of duel events
