Crewmate Basics
  • Each of these tips should help you keep your cool under pressure as a crewmate. Just remember that you CAN be smarter than the imposter...you just have to know the facts.

  • DON'T SPAM
Very first thing you do NOT want to do when someone (Or you) calls a meeting or reports a body, is spam someone's name. Not only is it annoying to the other players, but it also makes you look a little sus. Make sure that you have facts and information to back up why you think said person is the imposter. Maybe something like where the body was or if you saw them vent in a specific area. Something to go with your accusation.
If you express your story a little TOO clearly, though, everyone might think that you're making everything up as you explain it to them, so be careful about that. The most amount of info that's legitimate enough for people to believe is where it was, who was killed, who you think did it, and possibly a motive from the imposter.
You don't have to freak out either if someone accuses you of being the imposter. Just relax, focus, and use this method.

  • EXAMPLE ("The Skeld": It's You, Green, and Blue. [Blue's secretly the imposter]. You report Yellow's dead body).
[You] "I found Yellow dead in Medbay. He was trying to do a scan because he was dead on the scanner. I saw him fall over, and then the vent closed, and I'm kinda sure I know who did it."
[Green] "I was in Electrical next to the vent, so they couldn't have vented to me."
[Blue] "I just got off of cams, and I didn't see anyone vent."
[Green] "I think Red's making up this story. It sounds sus."
[You] "I went to do the "Inspect Sample" task, and I found the body."
[Green] "The imposter could've stayed in the vent."
[Blue] "True. So, are we voting someone?"
[You] "It was Blue. He was lying about being on cams."
    [Blue] "You're acting sus, though."
[You] "I know it was you because the cameras weren't on when I walked through to Medbay. And I vaguely saw you go towards Medbay beforehand."
    [Green] "Yeah, I'm voting Blue."

Crisis averted. You can surely win over your fellow crewmates if you keep calm, and address your facts accordingly.

  • DO YOUR TASKS
Doing your tasks not only helps you and your fellow crewmates win, but if you're the first one to finish them, you can either search for dead bodies, watch cameras or vitals, or even be in the places where a sabotage could be called. Doing these things can be risky because some people might not believe you were the first one to finish, and you're looking for people to kill. But doing those things could help you win faster. It all depends on the timing.
A special way to show your fellow crewmates that you are innocent is if you have a task where it shows visuals of you completing them. (Such as the garbage chute 2/2, the Medbay scan, etc.). The only problem is, if visuals are turned off, no one can see if you're really doing the task or not. So, if you play a game with visuals on, make sure to use a visual task to clear your name.

  • YOU MIGHT BE DEAD, BUT YOU'RE NOT DONE
You still have to complete your tasks as a ghost so you can win, and if you're a guardian angel, you can protect others from being killed by the imposter. It has a 60 second cooldown though and only lasts 10 seconds. If you know who the imposter is and you feel like they're about to strike at the person near them, click "Protect" to save them from the imposter.
Being a guardian angel is tough, but it can really pay off if your teammates are able to figure out who the imposter is before they've killed everyone.

These are the smartest ways to get the upper hand on the imposter.
Imposter Basics
Being the imposter requires much stealth, deception, and cunning. Knowing these rules will help you be the sneakiest imposter of all time.

  • STRATEGIZE YOUR ATTACKS
Going around the map killing everyone in sight is not the best idea. (Even though it DOES sound tempting). Instead, try to plan your attacks accordingly. Maybe pretend to do a couple of tasks once the round starts, and once the kill cooldown is done, THEN figure out who to kill first.
The best thing to do is to find someone away from everyone else, someone by themselves (Even if there could be someone near), or at least someone who looks like they're mid-task.
If not, then just wait a little bit. You should be able to kill someone soon.

  • HAVE A FAKE ALIBI AT THE READY
If someone reports a body or calls a meeting, and they say it's you, don't deny them. If you can, try to either frame them back with fake yet incriminating evidence, or, better yet, ask them what they were doing. If they get flustered, you can try to make everyone else think that it was a self-report.
But always make sure you can defend yourself. If you're a shapeshifter, then you can frame people even easier than with no shapeshifters.

  • SHAPESHIFTING ISN'T ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA...
If you are a shapeshifter, make sure that when you're shifted, you don't get caught shifting to and back. And very importantly, do NOT do these things.
    1) DO NOT report a body you killed in front of someone while shapeshifted. It will say that YOU reported the body; not the person who you were shifted into.
    2) DO NOT call a meeting in front of someone when you're shifted. It'll do the same thing as when you report bodies.
    3) DO NOT stay shapeshifted for too long. It will wear off after a little bit. You'll need to find a place to shift back without being noticed.

  • ...BUT SOMETIMES IT IS
If you plan everything, accordingly, being a shapeshifter can be the best way to frame other crewmates easier, go undercover, and win the game. Just make sure your EXTRA careful.

These are the best ways to destroy everyone as the imposter.
Quickly Completing Tasks (Crewmate Tip)

  • Now, being a crewmate can be a bit of a tough task for some people because of the many ways to do tasks. Maybe you do your tasks halfway then go to another one, maybe you do the longer ones first, but instead of doing things all willy-nilly, how 'bout you try this method?

The fastest way to complete your tasks can be to go around the map in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. It helps you stay on your tasks better.

And it's also a great way to prove to your fellow crewmates that you're not the imposter. If you said, "I was doing my tasks clockwise around the ship", some people might believe you or even be able to vouch for you.

If you feel like the imposter might try to kill you after, though, just go the opposite way than you were going before. So instead of going clockwise, go counterclockwise. It could throw the imposter off.
Simple Things to Look Out For (Imposter Tip)
Being the imposter can be a bit of a struggle for people new to the game, but just know these things, and it should make you a little more cautious to when and where you decide to strike.

  • SECURITY CAMS

Maps like "The Skeld", "Polus", and "The Airship" all have security camera rooms. On "The Skeld", there are traditional security cameras around the ship. You can see when someone's using the cams because there's a light on them that flashes red. On "Polus" and "The Airship", the cameras are a little smaller and unnoticeable, but they're there.

Cameras in "The Skeld" are located around the hallways near 02, Cafeteria, Navigation, and Shields (Top left), the hallways next to Cafeteria, Admin, and Storage (Top right), the hallways around Upper Engine, Medbay, and Cafeteria (Bottom left), and, finally, the hallways next to Reactor and Security (Bottom right).

  • The places in "Polus" that have security cams are shown in the photos below.

  • The places in "The Airship" that have security cams are shown in the photos below.

  • Unlike the rest of the maps, "Mira HQ" does NOT have security cameras. Instead, there's a section in communications with a computer that keeps track of who's gone through either the southwest hall, the southeast hall, or the north hall (Shown below).

  • VITALS

"Polus", and "The Airship" both have spots where anyone can check everyone's vitals to see if they're still alive. (Or if someone is a scientist, they can access their tablet every now and then to see if someone's dead. But it has to be charged by doing tasks).

  • Here is where you can find the vital panel on "Polus".

  • Here is where you can find the vital panel on "The Airship".

Things To Know (Imposter Tips)
All of the tasks in "Among Us" are very different in their own way, but if you know the basics of each one, you have yourself a perfect fake alibi.

  • DON'T FAKE VISUALS
There are specific tasks called "visual tasks". That means when someone does one, you can see if they've actually done it or not. It's extremely hard to fake these unless visual tasks are turned off in the settings. If visual tasks have NOT been turned off, I don't suggest trying to fake a visual task.

(Here are the visual tasks on "The Skeld").

    1) Submit Scan (Medbay)
When it scans you, you'll see that a green laser scanner will detect your identification, height, weight, color, and finally blood type, but that's not really the important part. The important part is that when you use the scanner, only one person can use it at a time, and it will say who's using it if you try to do the task.

    2) Empty Garbage (Storage)
Once you do the second part of garbage chute, you should see tons of random garbage (And even some references from the "Henry Stickmin" game) come out of the airlock chute. Not only can you see it, but everyone else can see it, too! It's kinda fun watching it all float away, isn't it?

    3) Clear Asteroids (Weapons)
A lot of people don't know that clearing asteroids is a visual, but if you look at the example picture below, you'll see that when you're doing that task, the guns on the outside of the ship will actually start shooting asteroids. Weapons is also a good place to go at the beginning of the round, so you can do a task, AND have an airtight alibi.

    4) Prime Shields (Shields)
Priming the shields on the ship is a simple task, and a visual. Before you complete it, the lights on the outside of the ship (Shown in the photos below) will be off. Once you've completed the task, the lights will have turned on.

  • PRETENDING TO BE INNOCENT IS THE BEST IDEA
Even though you might be the imposter, look at your tasks and remember which ones they are so when you're asked what tasks you have, you can have an alibi. Because there are what's called "common tasks" (In "The Skeld" the two common tasks are fix wires or swipe card). That means if one person has wires, everyone has wires (And vice versa). You can't have both fix wires and swipe card in the same match. (Unless someone has set the common tasks to more than one, but that's highly unlikely). So, remembering which tasks you have, so you can fake them correctly, is a good thing to remember. Also, faking quick tasks, like accepting the power from electrical to your said location, is also an easy thing to do, if you're just looking around for a fresh kill, but don't wanna look sus.

These things to know about how to be a smart imposter are just some of what is helpful to know.

@Sharkboy5712: I'm so glad that this guide was helpful for you! I also suck as the imp. LOLOL. I'm probably the best crewmate, though! I have the achievement for getting 500+ tasks done, and I'm usually the detective when I play. Hahaha! I'm thinking of ways to add onto this guide, so it might be updated soon. :3
