I used to be an Assassin like you, then I took a stutter to the knee...
By KrozacNexus
I have 3 questions for you. Are you sick to death of the stuttering due to the ridiculously high CPU usage of this game? Are you bored of tirelessly foraging through steam guides and the internet to try and find a decent fix amidst all the questions? Do you want to experience this game in its full beauty without the constant stuttering? If you answered yes to one or all of these questions then I have great news for you. I found 'fix' upon 'fix' regarding this issue, none of which really worked, and made my game look graphically worse as the same stuttery frame mess it was before. This is a simple guide with only a few easy steps that fixed the issue for me.

Step One: Installing CPU usage limiter file
First, download this archive ( you will need a program like 7zip or Winrar for this, personally i recommend 7zip due to full functionality and its astounding price point [FREE] ).

Click link in description, I tried to post the actual link but steam automated review kept deleting it.

When you download the archive, open it with 7zip, and click into the sub folder 'BES', and then again into 'BES 1.7.7

Step Two: Locating your AC: Origins game directory
Next step is to open your file explorer, and find where your Assassins Creed: Origins game directory is installed. It is usually found under C: drive, but the installation can be customised so you may have moved it to a new volume. To easily find the steam folder, go onto any of your Steam game installations on the Steam client and right click on a game and select Properties. In the Properties window, go to the Local Files tab and click Browse Local Files. Now on the top you should see all your steam files and your selected game at the top. Select the 'common' folder and all of your installed Steam games will be in this folder.

If for some reason you cannot access the steam directory from your Steam client, just look in your Folders in the file explorer and look for ‘Program Files’ The path of folders you should take looks like this: Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common (all your game folders SHOULD be listed here) don’t forget to check all drives and partitions if you cant find it.

For example, my Steam is installed on the D: drive in the Program Files folder but if you left your installation to do its thing it will most likely be on the C: drive.

Step Three: BES tool installation
You are now going to copy all of the files from the 'BES 1.7.7' archive folder (there should be about 5 files in total.), and then paste them into your Assassins Creed: Origins game directory. After this, you can now open the game (either using the steam library or the game EXE file), once you get in - press ALT and TAB at the same time to come back onto the desktop while the game is still running. Now open the BES executable file (by right clicking and click 'Run as Administrator') now found in your Assassins Creed: Origins game folder.

Click the 'Target...' button and then find ACOrigins.exe and highlight it. Press the 'Limit this' button, and press yes. Now you will see a slider at the bottom of the BES window, mine was originally at 33%. Set it to anywhere between 15% and 25%, depending on how good your CPU is. Lower values represent less CPU usage, and higher values = higher usage.

Conclusion
I have mine set to 25% now and get to explore the brilliant pyramids of Giza completely stutter free. I only lose 2-3 FPS now and again, and the game runs 90% percent better in my experience. Feel free to experiment, and comment if you find better results (or none at all!) outside of these parameters, i'm interested to see what works for you! also post specs and graphics quality/display resolution. Apologies in advance if this doesn’t fix it, but many people on you tube seem to have had success with it so hopefully you will too!

I wont pretend to fully understand what this tool does or why it was made, but from what I can gather from its interface, it limits your chosen apps CPU usage so that your processor isn't throttling all the time. I found this on you tube and took me around 2 weeks to find a decent guide regarding the issue, and didn't see one on steam so i decided to make one.
