CBRN, GAS MASKS, TOXIC CLOUDS - SCRIPT

Permanent Gas mask overlay issue has been solved + Some new names for triggers for better understanding


This composition allows you to place down toxic cloud, which will require players and AI to have gas masks in order to be alive. Also it gives players gas mask effect then they have masks on them.


This script features:

  • Full AI compability (Bots will suffer from toxic cloud effects then they are without masks and will have to use gas masks to be alive);

  • Vehicle friendly ( If you are inside toxic cloud in vehicle without gas mask you will suffer);

  • Different Gas Masks effects (You will have different gas masks overlays, depending on the type of the mask you are wearing);

  • Chemical Detector functionality (The closer you get to the source of the chemical pollution, the bigger numbers will be);

  • Toxic poisoning effects (You will cough, your screen will become Fallout new vegas, you will suffer big pain and eventually die);




I wanted to add functionality to the CBRN equipment for a long time and only now i've managed to do it. There were a lot of different scripts on the Internet and most of them have required SQF files in order to be functional and didn't have full functional. And when i decided, that i would compose different CBRN-related scripts into one big script, which will make Arma players life easier. So i heavily modified some of the scripts, to adjust them to Vanilla realities and my taste.

You can apply this script to different scenarions: Zombie apocalypsis, STALKER and Metro 2033 scenarios, Nuclear war, Invasion of independet country by saying that they have got chemical weapons and than after victory discover that they did not, WH40K OPS, Star Wars, WW1, Halo, have fun in 1940's Germany and having your revenge for Dmitriy Petrenko against Dragovich, Kravchenko and Steiner;

So this script allows you easily to adjust it settings to your needs: You can change contamination zone size by changing trigger "zone" numbers; You can add essential gear by putting their names into "zone" script _GasMask = "(Gear name)"; You can change the source for Chemical detector by giving the name "threat" to the needed object; You can change the toxic cloud by changing the numbers in smoke module.




Known issues:

If you use your scope, gas mask overlay will disappear.
There is a problem with the color correction/Chromatic Abbr., the effects remain even if you die, and then move out of the zone.
If you have discovered some mistakes, pls ping me on steam.

Future:
I will try to add breathing effects for wearing a mask.
I will try to add CDLC gas masks.
I will try to add fatigue bonuses for wearing a mask.
I will try to fix the bugs.
I will try to make it possible to use this script in Public Zeus sessions.He he.


If you want, you can do whatever you want to this script and use it whenever you want. bruh

should add an array of vehicles that people can add on to, which lets people be inside said vehicle safely without a gas mask

Great mod, I'm wondering if there's a way for the gas effect to be slower? Currently the gas particles move quite fast and it's very disorienting when i make the cloud bigger and add a fair bit of density

If there's a setting to have the cloud seem more settled like the smoke grenades for example, please let me know :)

I have some questions regarding the script.
1: When i enter the gas area without a gas mask my screen becomes blurry and all the effects are there but on my medical menu there is no change. Is this normal?

2: I placed AI without a gas mask in the zone and they did not die. Do i have to change anything in the script for them to be damaged?

3: When i put my mask back on the visual effects disappear however my walking speed does not get back to normal. Is there a way to restore my walking speed and also is it possible to use a medical vehicle/facility to remove that effect?

Other then that i really like the script and i think you have done a great work.

..What "toxic" cloud is this? Toxic substances do not work exactly the same as each other xD

A cartridge change system for the masks would have been great! ;) otherwise great composition! ;)
