This MIGHT NOT WORK for everyone!

I've seen some people try out these tweaks and some of them reported that it did not help them with their game. If some of the stuff doesn't work for you, i'm sorry, but you should invest in a better pc or simply refund the game if possible.

Also, it's possible that these tweaks are old and they might not be functional anymore. Still, try them out. Maybe they'll work.
Deleting the "User" folder and/or the "Shader" folder
This is a fix that has been shown in the Hunt: Showdown Official Discord Server™[discord.gg] back in 2021.

It helps with stuttering and visual glitches, however it is more tedious to do because your settings will reset every time you delete it.
I recommend screenshotting your settings before doing this or doing the fix below this one instead.

1. Right click Hunt: Showdown in your steam library
2. Click "Properties..."
3. Click "Local Files" on the side of the "Properties" window.
4. Click "Browse..."
5. Delete the "User" folder.

There's an another method that's supposedly "less effective", but it should still work.
This will not delete your settings.

1. Right click Hunt: Showdown in your steam library
2. Click "Properties..."
3. Click "Local Files" on the side of the "Properties" window.
4. Click "Browse..."
5. Open the "User" folder.
6. Delete the "Shaders" folder.

Do this fix every time there's a new patch, or you experience fps drops/stuttering/visual bugs & glitches.
If it doesn't work the first time, then you don't need to try it again.
In-game/NVIDIA Control Panel sharpening settings
Changing both "Render Resolution Scale" and "Video Memory (VRAM) Usage Target" to 90 and 90% seemed to help out a lot. This, of course, depends on your system. If your PC is CPU-limited, then "Render Resolution Scale" won't change anything. I'd highly suggest you test the best possible outcome for your system. Same goes for "Video Memory (VRAM) Usage Target".

Now, if you've made the "Render Resolution Scale" setting lower than 100, and you're seeing a bit of a blurry image, I've lessened that blurry/pixelated effect from lowering the resolution scale by changing the "Image Sharpening" setting in my NVIDIA Control Panel. However, there are two problems with this.

The first problem is that the new driver update for NVIDIA GPU's changed this setting into "Image Scaling", which didn't work for me.
That means, in order to use this feature, you'll have to downgrade your GPU drivers or use a fix.

In case you want to downgrade; I don't know at what version was it exactly removed, but I was using 496.13 and it was still there.

In case you want the fix; I've found a way to re-activate this feature from this post.[www.nvidia.com]
Be warned, this will require messing with Regedit, so please do this at your own risk!

1. Open Regedit.
2. Navigate to \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm\FTS
3. Change a DWORD value called "EnableGR535" from 1 to 0.

The second problem is that I've only personally worked with NVIDIA and Intel-type computers.
I don't know how to do this on AMD computers, so I'd advise googling it.

That option is located here.
Update: I used to use "Sharpen 0.30, ignore film grain 1.00". Makes the game a bit more better looking without any obvious sharpening filters being applied. I have a better GPU right now though, so I don't use this anymore.

Another thing that helped me a bit is enabling "Use 2 Pass Scene Rendering" and "Use 2 Pass Lighting" in the "Advanced Settings" tab.
Somehow, the game runs worse for me with these two options off.
Stuff that I've seen from an another guide (that might be outdated)
The guide.

Supposedly, If you alt+tab while in a match or a loading screen before a match, your game will run worse.

It does not affect the main menu, so you can freely alt+tab while in the lobby.

This also used to be true for shift+tabbing (opening the steam overlay), however as of the 1.7.2 Hotfix, it shouldn't be an issue. I'd still heavily recommend you to test this on your own, though.

And, apparently, changing the graphics settings while in a match will make the game perform a bit worse than usual.
It only affects the graphics settings and not any other settings, so you can freely change everything else.

I'd highly recommend changing them in the main menu and not during a match.

This guide is VERY OLD though, but I'd still recommend you not to do these things.
Disabling Steam Overlay
As of 2/2/2022, there was a 1.7.2 Hotfix regarding the overlay. However, update "1.7.2" was a long time ago. I would suggest you to test the overlay right now to see if you really need this tweak before disabling it. It gave me a huge FPS boost pre-1.7.2.

Be warned that disabling the Steam Overlay will forbid you from inviting friends.
Have at least one friend with the overlay on and ALT+TAB to accept invites.

1. Right click Hunt: Showdown in your steam library
2. Click "Properties"
3. Untick "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game"

If you have to use the overlay, i suggest closing all the steam-related windows both inside the overlay and on desktop during a game. You're free to use it in the lobby without any frame drops.
This might help even with the overlay off.
Get a better PC
This should go without saying, but if you don't have a machine capable of running Hunt: Showdown, then of course you're going to have FPS and stuttering issues.

You should have a PC that's at least +30% better than the recommended system requirements.
End
If any of these tweaks work, please show them to more people so they can have good performance playing this game.
If they don't, i'm sorry these tweaks were not that useful.

I have no interest in updating this guide further. If i ever do interest myself in making another one, i'll make one under a different name.

Thank you for reading.

Hello, been a while.
Made some changes to the guide to make it "updated" for the latest version.

I won't be updating this anymore. If i ever find something new, i'll make a new guide and link it in the "End" section.

Thanks for even looking at this guide.

Update 1.8.1 didn't fix anything... (at least for me)
Same methods still work.

Hello, been a while. Good to know that this game still has some performance issues. hopefully 1.8.1 fixes it a bit?

I've found a way to add back the "Image Sharpening" setting on the NVIDIA Control Panel if you're using a new driver! It requires using Regedit, but you should be fine if you've used it before.
The guide has been updated with instructions on how to do it.

Hopefully we hear more news from Crytek about performance...

So update 1.8 came out. I've tested it for 1 match and i didn't see that much performance improvement.
Same fixes still work though.

I've tried it without overlay just to compare it, and it seems like overlay/no overlay works fine as long as you close (not exit) the steam related apps (like the launcher and friends list) on desktop and overlay (if you have it on).

I still won't personally have the overlay on, but i'd still suggest you test one match with it on and closing the apps before you start a match.

I'm not sure if the performance got better though. It feels the same, just less stutter-y than what it usually was, which is still acceptable.

I'll update the guide a bit, and then head to sleep. I'm going to update this guide a bit slowly from now on, because i have a lot of life stuff going on right now, but i'll keep trying to update this guide as much as possible. Hopefully, this guide will be one day useless and all the performance stuff gets fixed.

Thank you so much for even clicking this guide, hopefully it helped some of you. <3

Good news! I've tried using the overlay for one quickplay match (which i've won btw. just a little flex lol.) and it seems like overlay works pretty fine right now.

I did get some fps drops here and there but that's probably caused by my pc loading the area i was in, after it loaded it worked perfectly fine. (and also considering i've only played the first game, in which i always get a bit of little fps drops as i've mentioned in the guide)

Nevertheless, i'll keep the overlay tip on here still, however i'll update it so you get a bit more performance if you have to use the overlay/want to use it.

I've also tried shift+tabbing mid game, and i've not noticed any frame drops or anything, which is fantastic news! I still wouldn't suggest alt+tabbing though.

Please note i've only tried one game so far. I don't know if it will work all the time, so please test at your own risk!

I saw a thread on reddit about a hotfix coming tomorrow for performance fixes, will test it out the next day because i'm pretty busy lately.

My performance is a bit better, and people in the discord are still using the same methods, so i'm going to assume this guide still works.
