Ghost information
All Ghosts
  • All hunting and event sound effects volume will now drop to 0% when at least 20m away, instead of just being quiet
  • Throws have a minimum ‘Throw Power’, to avoid small throws: 1 - 3 Power (previously 0.1 - 2.5 Power)
  • During hunts the ghost has a 50% chance to throw an object in range, every 0.5 seconds
  • Long distance roaming chances:
    • High - 30% when wandering
    • Medium - 20% when wandering
    • Low - 10% when wandering

  • Favourite room change chances:
    • If a ghost long roams and ends up in a new room, do a chance check
    • Low - 33%
    • Medium - 66%
    • High - 100%
    • Then do a check based on insanity (e.g., 30% sanity = 70%)
    • If successful for both chances, change favorite room


Banshee
dots / orb / fingerprints

~ ability ~
  • Will only attack one chosen player until that player dies and not kill any other team members no matter what
  • If the chosen player leaves the house the ghost will choose a new temporary target, until the original target player enters the house again

~ traits ~
  • Will often wander toward their target when roaming
  • Will only check their targets sanity % for initiating a hunt in multiplayer
  • Singing ghost events will drain an extra 5% sanity on the Banshee's target
  • Has a rare chance to play a unique shriek like sound though the para mic
  • Has a tendency to do singing / manifestation ghost events

Demon
fingerprints / writing / freezing

~ ability ~
  • Can hunt at any sanity level, however the chance for it to hunt above 70% is much lower.

~ traits ~
  • Crucifixes will stop a hunt starting within 5m instead of 3m
  • Smudge sticks will stop the ghost from hunting for 60 seconds instead of 90 seconds
  • Sanity hunt threshold is 70%
  • Hunt cooldown is 20s instead of 25s

Goryo
dots / EMF5 / fingerprints

~ traits ~
  • Must have dots evidence on nightmare
  • Can only see dots by looking at though a video camera, this will work in any form; head mounted, handheld or from the van. you will not be able to see the ghost in dots with the naked eye, this also means that you can hold a video camera and see it in that but not in the actual dots itself
  • Dots will not happen if there are players in the same room as the ghost and dots
  • Cannot change favourite room or roam long distances

Hantu
orb / freezing / fingerprints

~ ability ~
  • Different speeds at different temps (normal ghost speed is 1.7 m/s)
    1.40 m/s= 15°C+
    1.75 m/s= 12°C
    2.10 m/s= 9°C
    2.30 m/s= 6°C
    2.50 m/s= 3°C
    2.70 m/s= 0°C

  • does not gain LOS acceleration

~ traits ~
  • Has double the chance to turn off the breaker
  • Can not turn the breaker back on
  • Will show their breath in room temperatures of 3°C or lower will also show in any room during hunts if the breaker is off
  • On nightmare you cannot get a Hantu without freezing evidence

Jinn
EMF5 / fingerprints / freezing

~ ability ~
  • During a hunt it will move at 2.5m/s when in LOS of a player until it gets within 2m of the player where it will return to normal speeds
    The Jinn gains LOS acceleration as well, even with the speed boost
  • Does a big stinky fart that smells so bad it drains the sanity of players in a 2m radius around it by 25%. It also poops out an EMF2 reading at the fuse box. The fart will linger in place for a short while too
  • Welp, they ended up changing this so now the ability will trigger if you're in the same room, or within 3m of the ghost. The ability will now create EMF at the fuse box if any player is drained, not just the host.

  • Cannot turn the breaker off
  • Ability and speed changes will only occur if the breaker is on

Mare
spirit box / orb / writing

~ traits ~
  • Increased chance to interact with light switches
  • Cannot turn on lights
  • If the ghost is in a room with the lights on sanity hunt threshold is 40%
  • If the ghost is in a room with the lights off sanity hunt threshold is 60%
  • Preferred ghost event is to break the light bulb
  • When a player turns off a light switch in range of the mare there is a chance it will immediately turn it off again (other ghosts can do this the mare is just much more likely to do so)
    (won't work if you are spamming it)

Myling
EMF 5 / fingerprints / writing

~ ability ~
  • Footstep and ghost sounds audio max range is 10m instead of 20m, this means the audio falloff is much quicker since it scales with range

~ traits ~
  • More likely to do paranormal sounds with parabolic microphone (xd)

Obake
fingerprints / EMF5 / orb

~ ability ~
  • Has a small chance to leave unqiue six fingered handprints on doors / a double fingerprint on light switches / five fingerprints on prison doors and keyboards
  • During a hunt, Obake have a 6.66% chance each time it flickers to shapeshift into a different ghost’s form. They will then return back to their original form. This is guaranteed to happen at least once per hunt.

  • Has an ability to half the renaming time of all active fingerprints on the map, this effect can proc multiple times on the same fingerprints (default fingerprint life is 2min)
  • Must have fingerprint evidence for nightmare
  • Has a 25% chance to not leave fingerprints

Oni
freezing / dots / EMF5

~ ability ~
  • Oni will drain double the sanity of a normal ghost during ghost events
  • Oni can be seen for longer periods when flickering during hunts

~ traits ~
  • Will be very active will multiple players in the same room as it, and will do lots of ghost events
  • More active in general
  • Only does manifestation events, can't do hissball and 'ghost mist'

Onryo
orb / freezing / spirit box

~ ability ~
  • When the onryo blows out a candle it has a chance to start a hunt at any sanity, the chance increases with the more players it kills

~ traits ~
  • When not in range of a candle the hunt sanity threshold is 60%
  • When in range of a candle the hunt sanity threshold is 40%
  • Candle interaction range is 4m
  • If it tries to hunt and is in range of a lit candle it will blow the candle out and the hunt will be cancelled similar to a crucifix, this effect is free 3 times in a row then on the 4th time there is a 50/50 chance it will start a hunt
  • Has an increased chance to blow out candles
  • All the candle effects also apply to lighters
Phantom
spirit box / fingerprints / dots

~ ability ~
  • Will drain player's sanity by 0.5% /s if they are in line or sight of the ghost or in the same room, while the ghost is hunting or doing a corporeal event
  • During hunts it will be visible every 1 to 2 seconds instead of every 0.3 to 1 seconds
  • Will walk to a random players location and leave an EMF2 reading where it started from

~ traits ~
  • Will be invisible in ghost photos, and photos will have no distortion
  • Taking a photo of it during a event or hunt will make it temporarily disappear
  • Side note: the flickering timing is now actually synced between players for all ghosts, as well as the ghost not being visible in photos, so you don't have to confirm with your teammates if the photo was a phantom or not.

Poltergeist
spirit box / fingerprints / writing

~ ability ~
  • All items in a 2m radius around the ghost will be thrown, with 2% sanity drain per object thrown
  • During hunts the Polty has a 100% chance to throw an object in range, every 0.5 seconds
  • Throw power is 2 - 6 instead of the default 1 - 3

  • 2% sanity drain doesn't apply to non - ability objects thrown
  • Can interact with multiple objects at once

Raiju
EMF5 / orb / dots

~ ability ~
  • Speed changes depending on whether or not it is within 6m of active technology
    - if it is, it will move at 2.5m/s
    - if it isn't, it will move at 1.7m/s (normal speed)
  • The Raiju will not gain LOS acceleration while it is within 6m of tech, but will when not, and act the same as any other ghost
  • The speed increase happens with only one piece of tech and there is no delay

~ traits ~
  • When near active tech sanity hunt threshold is 65%
  • When a Raiju manifests during a ghost event or a hunt, it has a larger range from which it can interfere with electronic equipment and lights, 15m instead of 10m
    This value does not change with different map sizes
  • More active around active tech

Revenant
orb / writing / freezing

~ ability ~
  • Speed changes depending on whether or not it has line of sight to a player
    - if it has LOS it will move at 3m/s
    - if it has no LOS it will move at 0.75m/s
  • The Rev will keep their increased speed until reaching your last known position
  • Their speed will decrease gradually over 2.7 seconds back down to 0.75m/s when a player is not in LOS
  • The Rev will NOT gain LOS acceleration
  • The Rev will sound very slow by it's footsteps so this can be an easy way to identify it

Shade

  • For every 1% of average sanity lost, ghost event chance is increased by 2% (capped at 100%), for example: 100% average sanity = 0% chance | 75% average sanity = 50% chance | 50% average sanity = 100% chance

  • Prefers hissball ghost events
  • Can not hunt with multiple players in the same room as it
  • Will do almost nothing with multiple players in the same room as it

Spirit
EMF 5 / spirit box / writing

~ traits ~
  • Smudge sticks will stop the ghost from hunting for 180s instead of 90s

The Mimic
spirit box / freezing / fingerprints / [fake] orb

~ ability ~
  • The mimic will become a different ghost for period of time and will then swap to another
    This applies to everything about that ghost excluding evidence.
    For example, if it mimics a revenant then during a hunt it will have the speed traits of the rev, and if it mimics a shade it will have all the lower activity effects that the shade has, it can even give obake fingerprints if it mimics one
    However it can not change what ghost it mimics during a hunt
  • Can only be one type of ghost at a time
  • Changes what ghost it is mimicking at random intervals, at least one minute apart
  • Can also mimic players and itself, but all both of these just make the ghost completely plain
  • Also since the change is a state change you won't get an EMF reading when it changes

  • Will have ghost orb as a fake 4th evidence (3rd on nightmare)

The Twins
EMF5 / spirit box / freezing

~ traits ~
    So the twins are kinda a lie, it's only one ghost
  • The Twins has two different interaction ranges that it can roll
    - the normal interaction radius of 2m
    - and a 'twin interaction' radius of 6m
    These interactions can roll at the same time as well
  • When starting a hunt it will choose between being the main ghost and the twin
    - if it starts a hunt as the main ghost it will move at 1.53m/s (10% slower)
    - if it starts a hunt as the twin ghost it will move at 1.87m/s (10% faster)
  • There is a 50% chance it will start as the normal ghost and a 50% chance it will start as the twin at the last interaction location
  • This also means it can start the hunt positioned from within a crucifix radius if the ghost wasn't within 3m of it when starting the hunt

Wraith
EMF5 / dots / spirit box

~ ability ~
  • Ghost teleports the ghost to a random player and produces an EMF2 in that spot

~ traits ~
  • Cannot actually go through walls and does not float
  • Will never step in salt

Yokai
spirit box / orb / dots

~ ability ~
  • Sanity hunt threshold is 80% when players are talking nearby

~ traits ~
  • Ghost can only hear voices from 2m away during hunts, this also includes player held tech
  • (?) Ghost is more active when players are talking nearby

Yurei
orb / dots / freezing

~ ability ~
  • Will drain players sanity by 15 within a 10m radius
    The Yurei will also slam a door to the room it is currently in shut like a ghost event
  • Yurei cannot use their ability when there is no door in its current room

~ traits ~
  • If the ghost is smudged (when not hunting) it will not leave the room for the duration of the smudge effect (90s)

Deogen
spirit box / writing / dots

~ ability ~
  • Always knows where players are during hunts
  • Speed is based on distance from the nearest player
    - 3m/s if the nearest player is more than 6m away
    - 0.4m/s if the nearest player is within 2.5m of you

~ traits ~
  • 33% for unique Spirit Box sound if player is within 1m of the ghost
  • Chooses the closest player at the start of the hunt to chase
  • Changes target to the nearest player randomly during the hunt
  • 40% average Sanity hunt threshold


Moroi
spirit box / writing / freezing

~ ability ~
  • Places curses on players if they hear a response though the spirit box or hear a whisper on the parabolic microphone
  • The curse will double the effected player's sanity drain and standing in light or using a candle will no longer prevent sanity drain. Walking outside the location will pause the effect though
  • The curse can be cured by taking sanity pills

~ traits ~
  • Smudging the ghost lasts 12 seconds during hunts (instead of the normal 6 seconds)
  • Starting speed increases by 0.075m/s for every 5% average sanity decrease
    - 50% sanity = 1.5m/s
    - 25% sanity = 1.875m/s
    - 0% sanity = 2.25m/s


Thaye
orb / writing / dots

~ traits ~
  • No LOS acceleration
  • Every 1 – 2 minutes the ghost will try to age; If any players are inside the location and in the same room as the ghost it will succeed, if not 30 seconds will be added back on to the timer until it tries again

  • Each ‘age’ will lower the ghost’s stats and traits
    -6% hunt sanity threshold
    -0.175 m/s speed
    -15% chance for ghost events
    -15% interaction rate

  • Thaye can age a total of 10 times by this time it's stats will be as follows
    - 15% hunt sanity threshold
    - 1 m/s speed
    - 50% chance for ghost events
    - 50% interaction rate

  • The Thaye's starting stats are as follows
    - 75% hunt sanity threshold
    - 2.75 m/s speed
    - 200% chance for ghost events
    - 200% interaction rate

if the images look kinda weird it's cause of the fov distortion, you can count the tiles and see it's the same on each side

  • Interaction radius is 2m, shown in the images above
  • This interaction radius can also go through walls
  • It also extends vertically either as tall as the ghost or the room, idk doesn't really matter, it can't interact with stuff between floors though

Since your sprint speed is 3m/s if you move for 1 second you will move 3m
Alternately, if you move for 333 milliseconds you will move 1 metre
So, if you make a macro to hold W for 333 milliseconds you will move 1 metre : )

well they added a visual indicator to the crucifix now so this is kinda useless now... i mean you can still do the macro thing if you want for other stuff I guess

Sanity


  • During setup phase sanity can not go below 50%
  • A player death will drain 15% sanity from all other players
  • Sanity pills restore 40% amateur 35% intermediate 30% professional 25% nightmare
  • Each's players sanity is combined (excluding dead players) to make the average sanity.
    The average sanity is what determines sanity related events e.g. hunts
  • Sanity shown in the van will show the actual value and +/-2
  • Sanity will not drain whilst outside
  • Flashlights will not prevent sanity drain at all whilst held



  • Dark spots in rooms that have lights on will also still drain sanity at the same rate. So don't assume if you have the light on in a room that it will completely prevent sanity drain. This also applies to shadows in a room. Basically if the ground you are standing on is kinda dark you are probably loosing sanity. The darkness of the ground itself has an effect too



  • So funny thing about all this is you can abuse the ♥♥♥♥ out of it with flashlights
  • If you just point at flashlight at your feet it will completely stop sanity drain
  • It only really works with the strong one, you can do it with the weak one too but you have to tilt your camera up slightly to get it to work and if the ground is too dark to begin with it won't work
Hunts


Cursed Hunts
  • Cannot be prevented with crucifixes or the smudge grace period and can happen at any sanity
  • 1 second grace period and +20 seconds to hunt time for current and all other hunts

Starting a Hunt
  • Once the ghost leaves idle mode and there is at least 1 player in the house the ghost will check to see if it can hunt, it does this by using the following formula:
    ~ hunting time? = 100 - average sanity + hunting modifier ~
  • if hunting time? is less than 50 hunt will not start
  • if hunting time? is 50 - 75 there is a 16.6% chance for a hunt to start
  • if hunting time? is equal to or greater than 75 there will be a 25% chance for a hunt to start

Hunting Indicators
  • Light switches cannot be flipped during a hunt
  • Ghost will always have the same passive hunting sound
  • Main door will lock
  • Global chat radio will make static noise if you are within 10m of the ghost (ghost can hear this btw)
  • All lights will turn off after a hunt has ended
  • Electronic disturbance within 10m of ghost

Grace Period
This refers to amount of time until the ghost becomes active after stating a hunt. During this time the ghost will be invisible but will make noise and stand still to allow players to know where it is before starting to hunt down players and give them time to make distance from the ghost. This is different to the time before the ghost can start a hunt after ending one, which is 25 seconds
  • Amateur: 5 seconds
  • Intermediate: 4 seconds
  • Professional: 3 seconds
  • Nightmare: 2 seconds
  • Insanity: 1 second (probs I haven't actually measured it but what else would it be?)
  • Cursed hunt: 1 second
Hiding during hunts
The ghost sees your hitbox, not you
  • Basically this means that the ghost will see a static version of you that changes depending on whether you are standing or crouching. so moving your camera and leaning back and forth won't do anything
  • Also you head is not inline with your visual one it's pretty much at your eye level, this is why you can hide behind things like the kitchen counter even though your player model is way above it
  • This also applies to the ghost which is mainly noticeable with crawler ghosts that can see over kitchen counters even though they are shorter then them
  • tbh I don't really know how VR works in this regard, but I'm pretty sure that your hitbox head is inline with your real head because of some old bugs that would suggest that's the case
  • As a side note this is also why some ghost photos miss, because the camera is looking for the hitbox not the visual ghost

How to Hide
  • You will always have a minimum number of hiding spots per difficulty
    Amateur = All hiding spots
    Intermediate = 3+ hiding spots
    Professional = 2+ hiding spots
    Nightmare = 1+ hiding spot(s)

    Three players: +1 hiding spot
    Four players: +2 hiding spots

  • The way the ghost looks for players works off of line of sight. When the ghost sees a player it will pathfind straight to them. If the ghost happens to loose sight of a player after seeing them they will then go to the last spot it saw the player in and look around for them in that area for a short while before returning to wandering
  • Basically you just need to loose line of sight once and make sure the ghost doesn't regain line of sight once you've made it to your last spot
  • Any object with a physical collider that blocks your players head and feet hitbox will block line of sight to the ghost, keep in mind your player's hitbox is slightly different to what your character actually looks like, so crouching does make your hitbox smaller but moving your camera around will make no difference
  • Doors break line of sight so make sure to shut them behind you and use them to your advantage, just don't hide behind them

Ghost Searching
  • Ghosts can hear players talking and chat radio static from 8m away
  • Ghosts can "hear" any switched on electronic the player is holding from 8m away
  • Using push to talk will make the ghost unable to hear you when not holding down the button
  • The hearing distance only applies horizontally and not though floors, ghosts can hear through walls though
  • Ghosts have no maximum line of sight distance so they will see you across the map
  • After seeing a player in an area then loosing them, the ghost will search around in that area for a bit
  • During a hunt the ghost will pop in and out of visibility, which happens for 0.08 to 0.3 seconds, every 0.3 to 1 seconds
  • Ghosts also have a 50% chance to check the last known player location at the start of a hunt, this includes dead players locations
  • Ghosts can walk though doors

Hiding Spots
  • Closets: Make sure the doors are closed and stay that way. Would recommend staying to one side of them and holding that side closed to be safe though

  • Behind Objects: So if and object covers your player's head and feet the ghost will not be able to see you. this means you can hide behind things like the washing machine on Willow, kitchen tables and even the chairs like the one in black tent (see pics). there are a lot more than just those but they are a few examples of hiding spots that will work and should give you an idea on what to expect to work




  • Avoiding Wandering: The main thing is to be in a spot where the ghost won't wander into the room and be able to see you, which is something you will just kinda have to learn over time, but the main rule of thumb is the more out of the way and hidden a spot is the better, for example behind the table in left storage on willow (see pic) is a bad spot since the ghost won't see you as soon as it enters but will see you if it wanders into the room


    Looping

    A very effective and very fun way to not die
    • Simply kite the ghost around an item in a circle so they never catch up to you
    • A good example of what to use is a car or kitchen counter
    • A really important part of looping however is to ensure what you are using to loop breaks LOS from the ghost by being taller than your player model. This is why cars and tables are typically used since if the player is crouched their model will be blocked by them
    • To continuously bait the ghost towards you without LOS the player will need to hold out active electronic equipment, e.g. a flashlight

    Just Don't Get Seen
    Always remember too that you don't need to go zoom off to the most op super duper safe spot every time a hunt starts. As long as you just don't get seen the ghost ain't gonna kill ya, and if it does you can run away. What I'm getting at is remember to have a bit of fun during the hunts and don't always just cheese your way through every one as that will get stale quick

Haunted Mirror
~ traits ~
  • When activated the mirror will show the current ghost room from a certain point in the room and pan the camera around slowly
  • Does not show you the ghost's vision only the main ghost room
  • If the user has 0 sanity whilst using the mirror it will break and start a cursed hunt

~ sanity drain ~
  • Now also drains a minimum of 20 sanity per use
  • The mirror will drain 7.5% sanity per second this includes the animation of raising and lowering it
  • Takes about 10 seconds to fully drain your sanity and break

Music Box
~ traits ~
  • Can only be used once
  • Full song is 30 seconds long
  • When the music box is used the ghost will start to sing along with the song no matter where it is, the ghost will remain invisible and still continue to be in it's wandering state, since the audio of it is directional based you can pinpoint it's exact location during this time
  • Once the player gets within 3m of the singing ghost the ghost will become visible and move towards the music box, after being in this state for 5 seconds it will start a cursed hunt
  • If the player throws the box after starting it a cursed hunt will start no matter where the ghost is, placing the box does not have the same effect
  • If the ghost touches a player holding the box a cursed hunt will start immediately
  • If the box doesn't get within range of the ghost during the song a hunt will not start

~ sanity drain ~
  • Only drains sanity in a 2.5m radius for all players around the box while playing, being near the singing ghost will not drain sanity
  • Listening to the whole song will drain 77% sanity or 2.5%/s

Ouija Board
~ traits ~
  • When asked a recognised question the board will respond by moving the puck and spelling out the answer, asking a new question will reset the puck and make it spell out a new answer
  • Each time a question is asked an EMF2 is produced from the board, this can be EMF5 too
  • The location based questions will answer with the ghost's current location not the ghost room, even the "what is your favourite room" question
  • Leaving the board without saying "goodbye" and deactivating the puck will cause it to break and cause a cursed hunt to start
  • You can also start a cursed hunting by saying "hide and seek" which also breaks the board
  • The board will also break and start a hunt if the user has 0 sanity when asking a question
  • The board will also also break and start a hunt if no players are within 5m of the board with the puck activated (make sure to say goodbye!)
  • The Ouija board will auto-deactivate when walking outside the map

  • Ghost / Bone Location: 50%
  • Hide and seek: 0% (starts a cursed hunt)
  • Number of people in room: 20%
  • Miscellaneous: 5%

Summoning Circle
~ traits ~
  • Can only be used once
  • When all the candles are lit the ghost will be teleported to the centre of the circle and stays still for 1 - 6 seconds in a ghost event state, after that the ghost will start a cursed hunt
  • If used during a hunt it will teleport the ghost to the centre of the circle

~ sanity drain ~
  • Each candle lit drains 16% sanity for a total of 80%
  • All players within 3m of the centre of the circle will have their sanity drained

Tarot Cards
~ cards ~

  • Wheel of Fortune | 20% | red = -25% sanity / green = +25% sanity

  • Death | 10% | triggers cursed hunt
  • Hermit | 10% | teleports ghost to it's room and traps it there for 1 minute
  • Sun | 5% | sets sanity to 100%
  • Moon | 5% | sets sanity to 0%
  • High Priestess | 2% | revives a random dead player at their corpse, if no one is dead it will queue up the res for the next death, this includes singleplayer
  • Hanged Man | 1% | kills user

  • 10 cards in deck
  • Each time the deck is used 1 of the 10 different cards will randomly be drawn and have it's effect applied, unless the fool is also drawn which has a 17% of happening and 100% during hunts

  • Depends on the card drawn, cards without sanity effects don't drain any

Voodoo Doll

  • 10 pins in total
  • If the user has 0 sanity all pins will push in at once and start a cursed hunt
  • Each normal pin will cause an interaction or book / dots / doors
  • The heart pin will cause a cursed hunt

  • 5% per pin / 10% for heat pin

Monkey Paw
~ traits ~

The number of wishes you have will correspond to the difficulty or reward multiplier for that contract:
  • 0x – 1.9x Rewards: 5 wishes
  • 2x – 2.9x Rewards: 4 wishes
  • 3x Rewards or higher: 3 wishes

“I wish for [weather]”
+ Choose any weather type, e.g; sunrise, snow, rain
- Reduces Sanity by 25%

“I wish for sanity”
  • + Averages everyone’s sanity to 50%
  • - Sets the ghosts favourite room to a random one, increases sanity drain rate by 50% of the current value

“I wish for activity”
  • + Doubles all ghost activity for 2mins (throws, doors, roaming, abilities)
  • - Breaks the fuse box and locks the front door for 2mins

“I wish the ghost was trapped”
  • + Teleports the ghost to its room and locks all of its doors for 1 min
  • + Ghost cannot hunt, roam, or do abilities while locked in its room
  • - Locks all doors of the wishing player’s room for 1 min
  • - The ghost will hunt after 1 minute and unlock all doors
  • - 25% chance for doors to unlock *after* the grace period...

“I wish to see the ghost”
  • + Triggers a ghost event in front of you
  • - Instantly locks the exit doors
  • - Initiates a hunt straight afterward
  • - Reduces player vision for that hunt with a black fog

“I wish for life”
  • + Revive a dead player
  • - 50% chance to kill the player who wished

“I wish I was safe”
  • + Opens up the nearest hiding spot
  • - Smashes the light in the room
  • - The ghost can now hear and sense the player who wished's equipment at any range

“I wish to leave”
  • + Unlocks all exit doors at any time, including during hunts
  • - Stops you moving for 5s, then slowly returns your movement speed over 5s and reduces vision for the duration

“I wish for knowledge”
  • + Removes 1 incorrect evidence and corresponding ghost types from your journal
  • - Starts a hunt near the player
  • - For the rest of the game the player who wished will muffled audio and reduced vision

“I wish for anything”
  • A random wish!
Temperature
  • Temperature is based on rooms and not location specific
  • So this means that a whole room's temp can be completely different to a room right next to it and all the spots in that room will be the same temp
  • When the breaker is on all the rooms in the house will slowly warm up to 20°C
  • When the breaker is off all the rooms will cool back down to 5°C for clear weather and 2°C for all other weather
  • When the ghost is in a room it will cool down to 5°C for clear weather and 2°C for all other weather
  • The cooling down time is 2.5 mins at a rate of 0.1°C per second
  • The warm up time is 5 mins at a rate of 0.05°C per second
  • If the ghost is a freezing evidence ghost the minimum room temp will be -10°C
  • If the ghost is not a freezing evidence ghost it is impossible to have freezing temps and the temp will never go to or fall below 0°C
  • Multiple rooms can be cold and or freezing depending on how the ghost is roaming
Footstep audio
ghost footsteps are synced with audio, this means you can tell the speed of a ghost by just listening to it move whilst hiding, for example a rev will move very slowly when not looking at a player, so you will only hear its footsteps around 1 second apart from each other and a raiju will produce a lot of footsteps very quickly. it's a good idea to learn what a normal speed ghost sounds like to differentiate between different speed ghosts. also ghosts will sound faster if they are changing direction a lot so keep that in mind
Nightmare double evidence cancel
  • In nightmare mode crossing out a known negative piece of evidence can't really be done since that could just be the fake evidence, but this doesn't mean this info is useless
  • If you have two known negative pieces of evidence you can then tick both of those in the journal then cross out all the ghosts that appear
  • For example, if I know it's not freezing and fingerprints i can select both of those evidence types in my journal which will show Jinn, Demon, The Mimic and Hantu. I can then cross out all these ghosts before un-ticking the two evidence types
  • This works since each ghost can only hide one piece of evidence at a time, not two
  • Just don't forget about the Mimic's fake orb : )

The "Hunts" and "Hiding during hunts" sections should be updated to better explain the ghosts' new search behaviors introduced in 0.6.1.0, also it still says you can hide behind doors which isn't really the case anymore since the ghost will now check behind open doors.
