Using "Cross Shape" in "Dead Zone Shape" totally fixed the semi-circle QTE for me.
Another big issue remaining was the slow QTE with a discontinuous line. To help with those I put "Dead Zone Inner" to min and "Dead Zone Outer" to max.
This is probably equivalent to setting "Enable Deadzone" to "None". Anyway, make sure "Enable Deadzone" is set to "Configuration" because I can't see how this guide has any effect if set to "Calibration" (which will use the global Deadzone setting of the controller).
Last thing for slow QTE, I believe the game also has a deadzone setting which can be overridden. To do this I put "Output Anti-Deadzone" at around 10/40 so my input get recognized as soon as I move the joystick and not at mid-axis.
