Description
MIMIKYU!

Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokemon. Its actual appearance is unknown, and horrors await those who witness it. Therefore, it wears a rag fashioned into a Pikachu costume in an effort to look less scary.
It’s actually quite lonely, and seems to have joined the world of Aether to find some friends for life! For life? Uh oh…

This mod was created by FungiWizard and Reiga in under a month for the Pokémon Jam.

Mimikyu tries its best to replicate a certain yellow mouse, although it's creepy and eldritch nature usually ends up seeping through the cracks…

MAIN MECHANIC: CURSE
Holding a grudge against those who dare perturb it and mess with its disguise, Mimikyu has the ability to hex its opponent with a curse! It’s quite a potent effect, but you need three “ticks” of curse for it to fully develop and be active. If an opponent has curse ticks, hitting Mimikyu removes 1 tick per attack.

DOWN SPECIAL: WILL-O-WISP / WISP STORM
Mimikyu sets down an eerie blue flame, in front of it on the ground and below it in the air. Those who touch the flame are instantly struck with the full brunt of a Curse; they suffer 1 ticks of curse! It’s relatively a tiny obstacle, but Mimikyu can also press DSpecial again to call the flame towards itself, and Mimikyu can also HOLD the input to cause the flame to IGNITE into a WISP STORM; inflicting 3 ticks of curse and are instantly cursed! This storm of ghostly fire is reminiscent of a certain yellow mascot’s thunder, but remotely detonated.

NEUTRAL SPECIAL: SHADOW BALL
Mimikyu shoots out an orb of shadows, which bounces along the ground, or so it seems. The Shadow Ball goes “straight” forwards in wave motion, and inflicts one tick of curse to those it hits. Mimikyu can also charge the Shadow Ball into a larger orb that deals 2 ticks!
If a tiny Shadow Ball passes through a Will-o-Wisp, it is promoted to a big orb, and if a big orb goes through the wisp, it turns into an -even bigger- orb.

UP SPECIAL: SHADOW SNEAK
Turning into a shadow, Mimikyu shoots up in any direction you want, which can be followed up by another dash in another direction. This attack inflicts 1 tick of curse for each hit! Indeed, it’s quite similar to other Attacks that are Quick.
Passing through a Wisp during the attack allows you to never go into pratfall as well as cancel the endlag into an attack!

SIDE SPECIAL: PLAY ROUGH / LET’S SNUGGLE FOREVER
Mimikyu dashes forward. If it hits someone, it pulls them into a cartoon fight bubble, and after showering them with concealed cutesy(?) attacks, launches itself and them into the air. This is a great combo throw.
If the opponent is cursed, Mimikyu will instead activate its Z-Move: Let’s Snuggle Forever. This turns the move from a combo throw into a kill throw, that sends opponents straight up after the walloping.
Passing through a Wisp during the attack allows you to never go into pratfall and launch your further in whichever direction you hold.

EXTRA MOVE NOTES:

DSTRONG: PAIN SPLIT
DStrong deals self-damage on whiff, but won’t if you hit someone with it. Additionally, hitting a cursed opponent with it will -heal- you instead. Additionally, there is a tipper -behind- the attack.

USTRONG
This move goes very high, but also isn’t very good at hitting directly in front of you. Exactly where the claws meet there is a tipper that causes Mimikyu to get launched right to where their opponent was grabbed. You can freely grab a wisp too with the tipper, which allows you to slingshot around.

STANDARDS
Each FTilt hit grants one tick of curse, but the move is easy to DI out of.

Your needle moves (DAir and BAir) also get enhanced by Curse, with more knockback and a consume of the mark. Consider them solid alternatives to fishing for the rather punishable FSpec kill!

This character is overall amazing. Feels good to play, good glass cannon, and it's Mimikyu so it's awesome. I have just a few small gripes with it, though,one of which is that his curse is kinda hard to utilize. He loses stacks anytime he takes any damage (to compare, Ranno loses poison stacks after getting melee hit) which makes it hard to utilize his gimmick with there being only four moves that cause the gimmick (Zetterburn has 5, one of which is a lasting hitbox). The other problem is forward tilt not working sometimes. It's only real niche is applying curse which, while a pretty good niche, doesn't even apply it at times. Ftilt also feels pretty unsafe compared to his other tilts.
I was also going to mention how Dstrong is barely worth it, because 10% off of one move is way too risky, until I learned you can heal with the move as well. It's alright, I suppose.
But yeah, one of the most fun characters I've played in workshop. Love the references too.

Also why did you remove the flame from doing dmg/nerf mimikyu? I remember playing it in the past and it was fun, but now it really hard to win any game at all, and using the curse is super hard as they never stick because they just disappear after you get hit by your opponent. You never even get a chance to use Dair, and Bair.

I think I've found a bug/glitch with this character. When side special trades with another move, for a very long time afterwards it won't do the grab on them anymore if it hits them, it'll just do a small percent of damage. I haven't yet found a way to consistently cause it to end. Dying or your opponent dying don't seem to do the trick, but trading with side special again does sometimes fix it. Not sure if you're still updating the character, but wanted to make sure this is known!
