This is a complete step by step guide to how to get VAC banned in any game without actually using any cheats.

While it is much easier to get VAC-banned by using cheats and it is really difficult to understand why someone would find a way to get themselves banned without using cheats, such a person might exists, and this is a guide for them.

First of all i must say you that nobody except valve is actually completely aware how VAC (Valves Anti Cheat) compleately works, since it is closed source software and valve does not tell much about it. However valve still does tell something about it in steams official website.
https://steamproxy.net/steamhelp/en/faqs/view/571A-97DA-70E9-FF74

In this link we can actually see how you can get banned if your family sharing is enabled and one of the people in your family sharing is cheating, here you can see the direct quote:

“Will I be punished if someone sharing my Library cheats?
Your Family Sharing privileges may be revoked and your account may also be VAC banned if your library is used by others to cheat. Additionally, VAC-banned games cannot be shared between accounts.”

Step 1
Enable familysharing with someone

Step 2
wait that someone to cheat in VAC-protected game.

It really is that simple.
Although this thing is so simple that it consists only 2 steps, there is still multiple ways to do those steps and multiple reasons how you could do those steps.

Multiple ways you can get banned without using any cheats and using this method:

ways you can get yourself banned.
1. Not actually owning the game

It is actually a common misconception that you have had bought the game or even to have it in your library to get banned. No such exemption is ever actually said in in valves website. Valve says that if your family sharing is enabled and if someone in this family sharing is cheating, then you get banned.
So if you want to get VAC-banned from a certain game but do not own that game this is still possible.

2. VAC not thinking that you cheated

If you want to get yourself banned this way, you have to make yourself a really specific situation.
You have to make sure that you and your friend are just not able to cheat in that specific game

if the game you want to get banned is counterstrike 1.6 for example and you want to make sure that VAC does not actually think you cheated in that game the easiest way to do that is not owning Counterstrike and making sure that everyone you share your steam library via familyshare does not own counterstrike.
So if non of you owns counterstirke 1.6 how can you all get banned from it?
Well valve actually tells us that if you get banned from a certain valve made game, you also get banned from all the games that runs on same game engine. In this case the game engine is Goldsrc. (goldsource)
So your friend need to get their self banned from a game that runs on that engine, lets take Teamfortress classic for example.

So. share your steam library via familyshare with your friend. Then make sure that you dont own counterstrike 1.6. Then make sure your friend also does not own counterstirke 1.6. Then make sure your friend owns Teamfortress claassic and ask them to use cheats on that game, an bravo you have now been banned from all the games that run on that engine, including counterstrike. You have now been banned from a game that you could prove that you have not been cheating, since you cannot cheat on games you and your friends have never own/borrowed or have not even played.

It is actually another common misconception about VAC is that valve need to have even some kind of reasonable doubt about that you are cheating, otherwise they would not ban you. This is a really common misconception and is not actually based in any kind of evidence but rather on a logical assumption that since Valve anti cheat is system that is designed to be a software that detects cheats and bans those that do cheat, if someone cannot be proven to be using cheats he would not get banned.

Yes it is not logical to anti cheat program to ban people if they dont cheat or if it does not even think that they could have cheated (if they and their familysharing friends dont own the game), since that is not what it is based for, but just because it does not make sense to software to do that does not actually mean it does not do that, it just means that if the software does that then it simply does something that does not makes sense to do. It is completely possible to make a software that does not make what it is not supposed to do.
In VACs case we have valve telling us that how works, and valve tells us that you can get banned from games you and your familysharing friends have not been proven to ever own or play, I dont think we have to doubt valve and think that is not how VAC actually works. I dont think valve is lying about their own software.

3. Your friend cheats only on servers that are not VAC enabled or that have allowed all kind of cheats.

So now that we have made sure that VAC can ban you even if it knows that you and your friend are not even able to cheat on that game, we still might have a problem.
What if the friend you are sharing your steam library just refuses to cheat in servers that have enabled anti-cheat or even refuses to cheat in any servers except those that specifically say that they allow cheats?
Well this problem has a couple of solutions.
First of all easiest thing to do is that if there is for example counterstrike 1.6 server that says “All cheats allowed” and is not VAC protected, is to convince the server owner to just enable VAC protection. This way your friend and therefore you get VAC banned. This method works even better if the servers name or description still says: “All cheats allowed”. It works as a bait.
It works even better if your friend has a some kind of setting or script enabled that automatically lets him connect to that his favorite server, in this way he have no way of knowing even that it is now VAC enabled.

There is however another way to achieve this.
Back in 2015 when I was still playing cs 1.6 there used be lots of these annoying Russian servers that after you connected to them and played and while, after you left the server it had changed your games settings and next time when you opened up your cs 1.6, no matter what option you pressed your game automatically connected to that Russian server.
This ment that when you were at the menu and pressed for example “find servers” instead of giving you a list of server it automatically would connect to this Russian server. If you pressed “settings” it would instead connect to this Russian server, and so on. Only way to get rid of this was to open up console and type a command that I now have forgotten or to reinstall cs 1.6.

So basically tell your friend to play one of these VAC protected Russian servers that do this.
After your friend have played for a while. Tell them to enable cheats and connect to not VAC protected server that says in its name or description: “All cheats allowed.” Now because these Russian servers have these scripts that forces you to connect to their servers no matter what option you press in games menu now your friend has been forced to be one of these VAC enabled Russian servers and he has a cheat that is detected by VAC and now you and your friend are permanently VAC banned for life.
This method like the all previous methods works even if you dont have cs.16 and this also works if you want to get VAC banned from any goldsrc game like Teamfortress classic.

4. Extreme
There is still one way to get yourself banned that is pretty unique.
This method is pretty hard to describe but it is pretty much not only making sure that VAC or valve does not think you have cheated on that game but pretty much everyone.
This method basically adds up all the methods to get yourself banned listed above, but also tweaks them to the extreme. So lets take Teamfortress classic for example, that is the game you want to get banned from.Have you and your 10 friends all livestreaming and showhow you make new steam accounts that are completely public and how you enable familyshare with each others. Now in this livestream show that you all except one close their computer or even disconnect their hard drives . Now have this one of you to buy counterstrike 1.6 and connecting to these Russian servers. Now after playing for a while that friend should go to the internet and download some easily detectable cheats. Now after installing these cheats they should enable them and open up cs.16 and try to find nonVAC-protected servers by counterstikes own server list. Since clicking the button that says: “server list” automatically connected you to this Russian VAC protected server, now you and your 10 friends are permanently banned from Teamfortress classic.

So you got 11 people to permanently VAC-banned for life from games none of them have ever even played, because you tricked someone to play in VAC-protected server when in fact they wanted to play in non VAC protected one and could not have possibly known that the server was VAC-protected since he was forcefully connected to different one. Since all of you had your profiles completely public and all cookies and google analytic enabled it is publicly known that no one of you ever played Team fortress classic and you have livestereaming it how you were not even using computer at the time.
Edit
Well few weeks later i got and idea for even more extream idea to get yourself banned lets call it:
Extra extreame.
I also remembered that there are empty servers.
Most VAC protected games are actually made by valve and valve games are famous for having lots of mods and custom content. There is mods that totally change the gameplay of letsay counterstrike to totally different game, i have played maps that change it to DOOM even.
You can actually get banned by using cheats in non competititive mode and even thought server owner have modded the server to be some other gamestyle.

So if your friend refuses to cheat in any server if it not VAC-protected and says that it allows cheats, except those that are compleately empty all the time or just accept one player, you can still ban them.

So make the "extreame way to get yourself banned", but make sure that your friend plays with cheats in not VAC-protected servers that only accept 1 player and which have a custom fully empty map (only floor)

And the Russian map they are forcefully connected is also fully empty map that only allows one player.

By using this method you can get up to 11 people banned from games they have never played, owned or borrowed because only 1 of them wanted to play in non VAC protected server where you dont get any advantages by using cheats an who was forcefully connected to different server where it is impossible to get any kind of advantage by using any cheats where he played as singleplayer.
Ending
Now according to Valves official policy they are not obligated to answer any questions about any bans and are in fact unable to remove VAC-bans. This means that even if these 11 people contacted valve and showed them this livestream valve is not going to answer anything. So even if Valve employee would agree with you that you didnt cheat and your VAC should be removed they cant do that.

So you can get up to 11 people banned for live from games they have never owned or played and therefore never cheated and when 10 of them can be proven not to even being using steam let alone using computer at the time of ban.

So that's all. I hope you enjoyed my guide and find it helpful, please note that these are not the only ways you can get yourself banned from any VAC-protected games without using any cheats, these are just ones that are possible based on information given to us by valve.

Valve banned me from teamfortress classic because they can prove that one of my friends cheated on counterstrike 1.6,
this is generally seen acceptable

Funny how leaving the logic same but changing the gaming company suddenly makes the argument valid.

Common way to find logica Fallacies and errors is to see if the same logic applies to anything else.
