Return to a Classic GMOD map, but night themed

gm_megastruct13_night

This is a very old map from the GMOD 9 /10 days, really old which I remastered and added a new look to it making it compatible with the lastest Garry's Mod features, following the style of nowadays gm_construct.

The original map is gm_megastruct_revolution By: WilsonBJ

In my enhancement:

I've added Colorizable Sky Support (env_skypaint), re-done the Dark/Black Room, re-done the White Room which is now also colorizable/paintable with the ToolGun, gave it new lighting (very close to the default construct), tweaked the old and excessive bloom, I've also added 2 signature and iconic buildings to the flatgrass area of the map and updated the skybox. The previous and constantly open area_portals have been change to func_areaportalwindows and they now fade and close. Soundscapes were also implemented.

Nav Mesh
https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2664928487

EXTRA NOTES:
That is the original self-made nav_mesh for both maps, these are 100% generated using the propper commands, they do cover all of the map surface, complete navigation for nextbot, took me some minutes to do but less than I expected.

If you are subscribed to an alternative mesh by a different author I cannot tell exactly what the downside of that is, please don't mix them use only one.

If it doesn't work for any reason type in console nav_load while in the map.

You can play around with the HDR intensity if you want by typing in the console the following command:

ent_fire tonemapcontroller setbloomscale [values from 0.1 to 10, 0.35 is the default]

This is a very ancient map and it has been re-uploaded several times but without any upgrades whatsoever, it has been featured once in one of DasBoSchitt's "The GMOD Idiot Box" featuring the night version.

The map is a bit heavy in size because it has been recompiled in the lastest version of Source both SDR and HDR.
Let's not forget originally this is from 2008 or earlier.

My cubemaps are missing, my game is not broken, not a addon conflict and I can't use buildcubemaps command because the map can't be written, otherwise the map is incredible. 10/10

I like the atmosphere while in the night of the map.

spawned a npc_cpt_parasite from cptbase and forgot about it after noclipping away outside and over the wall; came back and had it charge at me. 10/10 for making me just about shit myself. would recommend.

this must be an issue on your end, the map is perfectly fine, cubemaps are built, maybe you have a local issue with the textures. have you verified your game files?

Is there a reason why the reflections of certain parts of the ground are missing textures?

ohhhhh i'm stupid, i was looking through the description multiple times and never read that specific part xD
FFox  [автор] 28 листоп. 2021 о 5:44
the answer was on the map's description all along
