Introduction
The German army would develop many designs of tanks over the period of the war and this guide will try to give you the ability to produce as many of the vehicles as possible from historical designs as well as some blueprint tanks.

Keep in mind the Tank Designer in HOI IV doesn't allow for a lot of variety in the modifications so many vehicles will be stuck with the same gun.

The design may say basic radio however you can put whatever radio you want on any of the tanks with the listed basic radio modification. Also the armour and engine upgrading is up to your own preference.

The Panzer IF is the result of trying to turn a light tank into a heavy tank the armour is improved significantly over the Panzer IC however it's engine cannot handle the weight as much and is significantly reduced.

The Panzer IID and E variants had improved capabilities in engine power due to the improved suspension however they did not see much of a production due to the irrelevance that the Panzer II program started to receive. They also had more armour than A-C variants. Most of these would be converted into Flamethrower tanks.

The Panzer IIG was an improved Panzer II developed with more armour whilst maintaining a high top speed like many of the later Panzer II's though they didn't make serious productions, this can also include the H and M models which only reached prototype stages.

The Panzer III Ausf A-E remain similar in design and low production to really have their own variants (other than possibly giving D and E more amour (30 D's and 96 E's) ). armed with a small 37mm the early Panzer III's where not as threatening or powerful as the later variants. The E variant also used torsion bar suspension as a difference.

The Panzer III Ausf J and L are very similar however initially starting with the same 50mm cannon as the previous variants later into the war they would receive an improved 50mm cannon (however there is no good option for this in-game for small armaments). the Armour of the tanks was 50mm instead of the H's 60mm. These two tanks would be the main produced variants of Panzer III's

The Panzer III Ausf M was the last main variant of Panzer III and would keep the armour of the Panzer IIIH however would also introduce Armour Skirts to the tank.

Panzer III Ausf N

The Panzer III Ausf N was a close support variant of Panzer III designed to replace the Panzer IV's in the role of close support. The tank would be armed with the Close Support Gun as well as Armour Skirts.

Specialised Panzer III's
The Panzer III also had Flamme and amphibious variants with around 100-200 Flammpanzer III's and a couple Tauchpanzers being produced

Panzer IV Ausf A-F1

The early Panzer IV's A-F1 all where designed for the support role using the stubby close support 75mm whilst the Panzer III's would deal with the armoured targets. Panzer IV D increased the armour from the earlier models of 14mm to 30mm (248 Panzer IVD's) (206 Panzer IV E's). The last of the close support variants the Panzer IV F1 would increase the armour further to 50mm (471 Panzer IV F1's)

Panzer IV Ausf G-J

The later Panzer IV's featured the longer 75mm. The G is the first variant other than Panzer F2's (a couple F1's where converted into F2's supporting the long 75mm). The Panzer IVH however is the main variant of Panzer IV and featured Armour Skirts as well as an increase of 80mm of armour from the IVG's 50mm's. lastly the Panzer IVJ is the final model and it's main difference with the H was the fact the turret was hand cranked to speed up the production instead of using the power traverse used on the H's turret.

The Panther was the last mediums of the German army for WW2 and would prove to be one of the most feared tanks of the war. however their reliability was poor like many of the later German tanks due to their high maintenance costs and many complicated parts.

The Panzer VIII Maus is the heaviest tank ever produced armed with a 128mm and having 200mm's of frontal hull armour the Maus was designed to not be penetrated however due to that heavy armour it's capabilities are reduced as it was too slow and large to avoid many of the problems a heavy tank had with reliability. 127 of them was ordered with 2 being built (later merged into 1 Maus after the war)

Also a Flak panzer 1 was a two crewed tank the tank hunter 1 (panzerjager 1) was a 3 crews tank

and with the Tiger 1 you can make the Tiger 1 H before Kursk Tiger 1s had no hull MG that was added with the Tiger 1 H1, same as Panthers tanks. Germany has problems with not added mgs into their tanks. :steamfacepalm:
