[Arena Mode] Speedrunner`s Guide - Tinkerer

[[Major Spoiler alert]] : Don`t read this guide if you haven`t finished your first play-through.

This is a guide for people who wants to get a lot of imprints fast, but legitimately.
You must have 2 imprints to do this too.
It takes about 4 hours if you do it right, and you can improvise the procedure for your liking.

Introduction

[There are a lot of people who wants more imprints. And yeah, imprints are pretty good.
I`ll tell you how to get these imprints by the most legitimate and fastest way possible.

Just know that some procedures can be altered or changed to your liking.

These are set on the fact that the difficulty setting for each mission is all above 'Tough', and you don`t upgrade your base(except for the back-up) or hire any hirelings]
Stat Distribution
You can only get stats by unlocking Melee, Ranged and Acrobatics skills.
Getting stats evenly will consume more time at first, but eventually save more time and effort in the long-run.

These are how you should upgrade your stats.

[Melee] : Strength only




[Ranged] : First Dexterity until 30, rest all invest on Tactics




[Acrobatics] : Endurance only





We are not doing any unarmed farming as it is not very useful.
Before getting Purple (First half)
We are going to farm a lot of melee XP, as we want a balanced stat for the later run.

[Wave 1] : Just back-paddle while punching.
[Wave 2~4] : Kill enemies with only melee. At the 4th wave, use rocks on tougher enemies and A.I. G0L3M.

Back paddle and swing your melee. Run away whenever you get hurt a lot.
Use the cars(mid-mission) to kill enemies faster. Use the rocks at the last fight against the boss.

3. <<Pit Stop>>

[Wave 1] : Use melee as possible, use pistol when huge waves comes.
- After Wave 1, buy the 'Half-mag suit'
[Wave 2] : Use melee as possible, use dropped pistol to kill nail-dudes.

4. <<The Foundry>>
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

[Wave 1~6] : Only use melee and rocks. Stay at lower right side corner, as you can ambush pistol enemies. Grab drills, saws, welders(or even hammer) and also use heavy swings if possible.
- After Wave 6, buy N51 Riot Vest
[Wave 7~final] : Only use melee and rocks. Ignore merc-gunners(capped dudes) while staying in the lower floor and kill them last.
- After Final wave, Unlock 'charge-up, melee' & 'Dual Wield-light(melee)' skill. Also buy and equip 4 shock batons. These 4 batons will be used until the haunted house.

5. {{{The Goods}}}

Use charge-up attacks aggressively. You can kill the window-shooters with charge up attacks.
Use the corner to lure in the tommygun enemies. You can charge-up attack to knock them, or either stun lock them with fast swings. Every enemy will melt when you use the shock batons.
- After the mission, Buy 3 throwing knives and use one instead of rocks.

6. <<Fast Track>>

[Wave 1~7] : Use melee only(you can use guns time to time though). Go on top of ladders and use corners to bait enemy into your charge-up melee. Change your shock batons into new ones if enemies drop it. Throw some daggers at normal agents and switch to new daggers between waves.
[Wave 8~11] : Same as 1~7, use dropped guns to kill half-mags and try to stay far against them before killing all the other enemies. You can also use ladders to totally ignore them. A quick tip is that you can press 'K' to ragdoll to completely ignore half-mags charge up attacks.
- After the mission, Learn 'Snap-dodge'(you`ll have enough xp if you used axes)

7. <<The Haunting of Nevada House>>

[Wave 1~5] : Use pistols(upgrade your ammo into laser) against window invading cultists(but dont buy any expensive weapons yet, you`ll need that money for heavy machine guns), and use electric batons or melee to other enemies.
Also, Throw axes at skeleton zombies. Leave red ghosts for later, use charge-up shots to knock those down, or just go past him and swing your melee behind.

- At each end of final missions, go to the black market and check for one of 3 weapons, (PKN, 6000, 2500) buy one if you find one. You will have enough money if you haven`t spent it on anywhere else.
After getting Purple (Second Half)
Now the fun begins. Your hard work will pay you off from now on.
Just don`t forget to unlock all available skills now and then. It doesnt really matter that much from now.

First, you need to buy a lot of stuff.
Here is the list.

1. 2~4 pistols(or whatever that is cheap, but not revolvers), Upgrade it with dissonance cannon ammo.
2. A heavy machine gun(if you already bought it, a second one is not necessary for now). Upgrade it with 'dissonance cannon' ammo
3. 'Camo Pants + Bandolier'
4. 'Ammo Belt v2' & 'Ammo Backpack'

This will make your heavy machine gun ammo a bit overkill.

8. <<Slaughter Time TM>>

[Wave 1~12] : Spam purple stuff. Get more purple stuff between waves.
- After each final mission, check if you can unlock dual-wield light. If so, dual wield two purple stuffed pistols.

Spam purple stuff.
- After finishing it, buy 'Nano-Respirators' from Fence.

10. <<The Murder Room>>

[Wave 1~12] : Spam purple stuff. Get more purple stuff between waves.
- Everytime you come back, check the blackmarket to buy just one more heavy machine gun. If the chef sells it, buy one and upgrade it.
- After the final wave, buy 'Front Bombsuit Plating' armor, 'Leather Marksman Gloves', and 'Heavy Boots'.

If you want, you can upgrade Trooper squad(Backup soldiers) to the maximum and use it every wave. You`ll still have about 50000 to buy the heavy machine gun.

11. <<Hard Sell>>

[Wave 1~5] : Spam purple stuff. Get more purple stuff between waves. Let the bomber destroy the south or north doorway(this lets you kill them faster). Stay in the middle, right under the objective.

Further explanation for the speedrun
<<The reasons I recommended going melee build until the mid-game>> :
1. You can cheese 'The Goods' and 'Fast Track' with little effort, as low damage&low ammo guns kinda suck in these missions.
2. Increase strength for dual wielding modded pistols.

<<The reason I am keep saying that the heavy machine gun is the best weapon for tinkerer>> :
1. The ammo clip stacks for both 'heavy machine gun' & 'dissonance cannon magazine-part', as the game thinks that both things are seperate heavy weapon types.
2. It has one of the best ROF(rate of fire) in game
3. It has significant gun length, which means it is less likely to hit yourself with splash damage when blank-shooting enemies.

This guide is heavily outdated: "After Wave 1 of pitstop, buy the 'Half-mag suit'" boi that stuff is endgame now.

I should note for those in the future that completion of Hard Sell grants access to 20mmX10 ammo. In layman's terms, that's the same ammo that the Mhati-999 uses. Now, why use tank killer rounds instead of funny explosive purple drink? Well, the tank killer rounds can clean SEVERAL poor bastards' DNA from the genepool at once, it kills G03LMs without head armor with about as much ease as turning a computer on, and combining it with Deadeye makes even the mighty Nexus Soldats fold. For extended killing, slap these bad boys on an Acid Shotgun or two for nigh-unlimited ammo.

If anybody is wondering what gun they should get because they couldn't get an HMG from chef, then a good weapon to get and mod is the nevadian scar, as it's a great all-rounder, only 8K, and is single fire instead of burst, which is great as it allows you to be able to shoot 15 times unlike other rifles which allow you to fire 5 times because of the 3-round burst (with dissonance cannon battery)

You might wanna update this since they got rid of the ability to buy the Half-MAG suit past pitstop

Welp, for the most part, it should work.
The problem is the increased armor prices, which can be trouble.
