The "ENGINE" thing was used as balancing weight.
True shuttle must not fly with engine power in the atmosphere :)

This is later version being much smaller and works in multiplayer mode

I didn't realise the engines where "Cargo". I stuck two fuel tanks in the rear landing gear pods and Config file changed the ducted fans into pusher props and still tinkering with it. :)
