Pawns Take Naps

解説
Key Features

Pawns (Colonists only) may now choose to take a nap during the day. Restful naps give pawns good thoughts and a hediff with a small boost to consciousness, but sometimes pawns will wake up groggy, suffering a negative thought instead.

Factors Affecting Naps
Pawns will take a nap if:
  • It is during night-owl hours (between 1000 and 1700)
  • They aren't too awake to fall asleep
  • They haven't had a recent restful nap
  • Their lord toil allows them to rest in a bed
  • They aren't assigned for full sleep or meditation

Pawns have strong individual preferences for naps, including how willing they are to skip work or recreation for a nap. Pawns are more likely to nap when they are tired, uncomfortable, in pain, and have had plenty of recreation (bored pawns would usually rather play than sleep).

FAQ
1. Can I add/remove this from an existing game?
Probably, but you will get errors if you remove it while pawns have a nap-associated thought or hediff.

2. How does this affect performance?
This adds a nap-check whenever pawns are looking for a job so I did have performance concerns. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a very low impact on a full colony test. If you have performance concerns, this mod should benefit from Rim73.

3. Is this compatible with this <Mod>?
Probably. There are no changes to vanilla code or defs, so this mod will have wide compatibility.

Any chance we could get a config for how likely a pawn will take a nap when they have nothing scheduled? It seems a little high, almost guaranteed they will take a nap every day

This is ALMOST what i was looking for, but super close! I'm here before applying the mod so maybe its in it already but, is it possible to force a pawn to nap? its not something that comes up frequently, but like right now [ie why I'm poking around the workshop], we're being hit back to back by raids, and our doctor is exhausted during work hours. Instead of changing his schedule [and then remembering to change it back] is there an ability to add a feature to "prioritize napping" for a bit to refresh the pawn?

I've never heard of that mod before now, so I'm not sure. It's probably compatible, i.e., you won't get any errors, but there is a chance naps won't cause dreams.

I would totally consider a napping ideology, but there are two problems. I don't have ideology and I don't have any artwork ability.

Exquisite Nappenings cause all hostile pawns to fall asleep subsequently forget why they came to the colony. Gear can be looted from napping raiders.

The Snorekaller can summon herds of sheep
Napmergency ability: Snorekaller can end any pawns mental break with a powerful psychic nap
requires magnificent bedroom

Comfort matters 200% more, but nappies give recreation

Bedrolls are mandatory gear

Fluffy cloud themed animations for rituals, lullaby music, custom ideology jumpsuit "jammies" texture, ballistic goggles appear as sleep masks

i ask because i like to run a trans humanist colony and late game many colonists will no longer have a need to sleep so stop getting together with partner. i like idea that soldiers who by now have been enhanced to the point of no longer needing sleep can still take a break and close their eyes if all duties are fulfilled and needs met they didn't need to they just wanted to remember the feeling of closing the eyes. or super soldier taking care of partner with chronic illness or lost limbs awaiting replacement the soldier no longer needs to sleep but still wants/desires to lay with partner

@deanddw17 - Lovers will not engage in lovin' during a nap or deliberately nap together, but I might add that in the future.
