The Wise One

  • story-related achievements, just play the game and you will get those achievements after defeating certain bosses
  • during the fight with "The One who Swallowed Heart of Greed" equip "Goggles of Sight" and defeat him. this way you will continue the game (otherwise you get a bad ending and the game will restart from the beginning) and you will get "Broken Heart of Greed" achievement
  • you get "The Wise One" achievement for killing the final boss - "Moon"

Two Moons
Defeat a specific boss.
  • during the fight with "The One who Swallowed Heart of Greed" DO NOT equip "Goggles of Sight" and defeat him. this way you will get a bad ending and that achievement

Special Journey
Defeat a specific boss.
  • in "Shrine of the Wise" you can check your character's afterlife and play as a wolf for a brief moment. kill the boss at the end of that section

  • the description for "The One who Swallowed Heart of Greed" is wrong. you don't need to defeat a specific boss, but instead you need to beat 20 bosses without taking any damage
  • that achievement is cumulative among all your playthroughs, meaning that you can defeat the first five bosses in the game without taking damage, then start NewGame+ and defeat the same five bosses without taking damage - and game will count as "ten different bosses". this way achievements more manageable and doable because with each NewGame+ you can slowly chop-in a bit
  • in my case I beat the game with defeating 23 bosses without damage (couldn't defeat "The One who Swallowed Heart of Greed", "Master of Flame" and "Moon" without taking hit), then started NewGame+ and defeat first three bosses in the game without damage ("Demoted Rider", "Cursed Shelop" and "Canal Keeper") - and achievement popup
  • first, concentrate on leveling strength. as soon as you get STR 35, start upgrading stamina to at least STR 20. this will allow you to dash three times in a row
  • that video can help with certain bosses and patterns

  • lots of bosses can be abused by using downward attack (down + attack). for example player can relatively easy defeat "Abyssal Tyrant" with that attack
  • I have defeated some bosses with Occult spam - just stayed away, spammed Occults and been using recoverables to recharge my magic
  • my stats at level 199:

  • level 199 is max level in the game (cap). there is no way to respec your character
  • level 199 may seem like a huge number and long way to go, but frankly it isn't. you do need to beat the game at least four times (for other achievements) and in each next NewGame+ enemies start to drop more and more experience (karma) to the point that later enemies drop 4,800 karma at once and bosses drop 200,000 karma after defeat
  • so in nutshell, just play the game as usual - sooner or later you will hit level 199 eventually with no issues
  • for the record, I finished the first playthrough with level 126 and reached level 199 in my first NewGame+ (3001th Journey). in fact, by the end of my fourth playthrough I had millions of karma I have no use of

Perfect Skill
Unseal all skills.
  • pretty much the same as with levels above - it may seem like a lot of work and efforts, but with at least three NewGame+ you have to finish, that achievement will be obtained naturally
  • you get one Seal Breaker Stone for each level up and can find more of them in various chests. chests reset in NewGame+
  • just buy all the skills in menu and you are done. will be over during second or third NewGame+
weapons
Heaviness
Obtain Old Axe.
  • "Old Axe" is a random loot that drops from "Cave Wolf". can be found in "Blue Stone Caves" and "Canal of Ruins"

Swordsman's Finger Marks
Obtain Samurai Sword.
  • "Samurai Sword" can be found in chest in "Tower of Unknown Age"

The One Who Tried to Erase the Past
Obtain Old Warrior’s Halberd
  • "Old Warrior’s Halberd" can be purchased from Pioneer for 20,000 karma

Bladeless Holy Sword
Obtain Sealed Holy Sword
Legendary Dragon
Obtain Bahamut
  • both "Sealed Holy Sword" and "Bahamut" are dropped from various enemies in Tower of Karma. almost every enemy here drops either one weapon or another

  • overall, not hard and can be done in the first playthrough

Sacred Light
Obtain Contract of Light.
  • story-related Occult, cannot be missed. required to enter Shrine of the Wise.
  • to get it defeat "Moon's Exiled Child" (a lady-boss in "Snowfield of the Exiled"), then talk with her corpse to learn about "Heart of Flame". travel to "Road of the Burning Deep" and defeat the boss of that area, "Master of Flame". search chest nearby and obtain "Heart of Flame". bring back that item to "Moon's Exiled Child"

Heat Protection
Obtain Contract of Fireball.
Cold Protection
Obtain Contract of Snowball.
  • both those Occults appear only in second NewGame+ (3002th Journey)
  • they are hidden in unique chests which spawn in "Shrine of the Wise" and "Road of the Burning Deep"
completion
Complete!
Reveal the entire main map.(100%)
  • quite straightforward, just walk around and uncover every single black square on map
  • there is no secret areas hidden behind the walls or not shown on map
  • you will get that achievement during the fight with "The One who Swallowed Heart of Greed" (if you have explored all previous areas thoroughly)

The Wise Completion!
Reveal the entire DLC (The Wise Ones) map.
  • another straightforward task - just explore every room. achievement will be done at 147.8% mark
  • there is no secret areas hidden behind the walls or not shown on map
  • you will get that achievement during the fight with Moon

The 'Hunter'
Complete the monsters in your Archive.
  • both bosses and regular monsters do count. there 182 unique enemies in the game and all of them need to be fight against at least once
  • all enemies appear in a single playthrough

The 'Adventurer'
Complete the items in your Archive
  • some items appear only only in NewGame+ and second NewGame+, so it means game need to be beat at least two times in order to make all items to spawn
  • in NewGame+ the new type of chests begin to appear with some unique items (usually prefixed with "+", like "Heavy Golden Ring+2")
  • you need to beat the game at least four times to get all items:
    • first, you need to get a bad ending - not equip "Goggles of Sight" during the fight with "The One who Swallowed Heart of Greed" and try to kill him. this is the only way to get "Heart of Greed" sword
    • then you need to defeat "The One who Swallowed Heart of Greed" with "Goggles of Sight" equipped and proceed to the next part of story and play until you obtain "Synchronous Scripture". then use that item to get "Genesis Sword" or "Genesis Spear" or "Genesis Broadsword". then use "Genesis Ore" to convert the genesis weapon of your choice into "Weapon of Light" and then use that weapon to struck the moon (physical moon, not a boss)
    • in your next playthrough obtain the different type of weapon and repeat all the steps, same for fourth one
    • your archive should have three entries for three special weapons: genesis, light and a special prefix

Successfully enhance a weapon.
Most Powerful Weapon
Successfully enhance 1 type of weapon to max level.
  • to start enhancing weapons, you first need to find a Blacksmith and talk with him. he is located in Tower of Unknown Age
  • after that he will appear next to Pioneer
  • talk with him and enhance the weapon of choice to level 5
  • since resources are limited it is better to enhance the final weapon and don't waste your items on lower gear. the final weapon is one of Genesis ones AFTER you destroyed the moon (physical object not boss) and unlocked the portal to Moon's Bedchamber

First step towards the best spell
Successfully enhance an Occult.
Most Powerful Spell
Successfully enhance 1 type of Occult to max level.
  • to start enhancing Occults, you first need to find an Occultist and talk with him. he is located in Stone Grave
  • after that he will appear next to Pioneer
  • talk with him and enhance Occult of choice to level 5
  • since resources are limited it is better to enhance the best Occults in the game and don't waste your items on lower spells

Do.Mi.Do.Mi.Sol!
Solve a specific puzzle of Cave of Blue Stones.
  • hit mushrooms in the following order: green - blue - green - blue - red

Strike!
Solve a specific puzzle of the dungeon.
  • push crate closer to bomber and after he threw a bomb - push crate further to drag bomb closer to breakable wall

Dizziness of Ray
Solve a specific puzzle of Tower Basement.
  • destroy all sources of light and push crate towards the chasm to effectively blackout the room

Bouncy Bouncy!
Complete certain puzzles in Road of the Burning Deep
  • push the crate closer to lava pool to make lava debris ricochet from it into the breakable wall

Thou shalt resurrect
Resurrect after being killed by a monster.
Thou shalt resurrect because it’s hot

  • self-explanatory, just die in the described way

Retrieving Skill
Retrieve Karma.
  • after your death travel to the point where you died and destroy flying purple orb to retrieve back karma
  • don't die before you got karma back or else your missed karma will be permanently gone
  • yeah-yeah, just like Dark Souls...
misc
Lightning-like Skill
Destroy a bullet.
  • self-explanatory. use any weapon to destroy a projectile

Survival Skill
Remove debuff.
  • the easiest way to get that achievement is to get hit by Green Slime and get poisoned, then use "Herb Bead" to cure a poison

Honed Skill
Pass through a monster using Dash.
  • self-explanatory and, frankly, mandatory achievement. you will not beat the later bosses and enemies without dashing behind their backs

The One Called Fighter
Remove all equipment and defeat a monster.
  • funny little achievement, completely unequip all gears (weapons, Occults and accessories) and defeat any enemy
  • get higher level and return back into the first area if you have troubles

The One Called Wind
Successfully execute a six-hit combo in midair.
  • first you need to get both "three-hits air combo" and "three-hits mortar blow"
  • then fully charge your MP bar
  • then find a big enemy with lots of HP (preferable boss), jump, do a three-hits air combo and then use three-hits mortar blow. all hits should land on enemy and deal him a damage to count

The 'Beast'
Transform into a wolf to defeat the monster.
  • in NewGame+ there will be a new chest in the very first area of game. Wolf Fangs are stored inside. they allow your character to turn into Wolf
  • transform and kill any monster

3000th!
Defeat 3,000 monsters.
  • since you need to finish the game at least four times to get all other achievement, killing 3000 enemies isn't something hard. I would say even trivial
  • there is no point to farm that achievement at purpose, but still if you really need to, then travel in "Canal of Ruins". there is an area close to save-point where enemies spawn indefinitely, kill them for as long as you need

3000th?
Destroy 3,000 objects.
  • any background objects count - grass, barrels, statues - just destroy them until achievement popup
