The market on craft numbers is very niche and can be difficult to navigate. Prices on these things are really whatever someone is either willing to pay or willing to let it go for. In general though, the closer to 1 you get the more desirable the number. There are exceptions for numbers like #100, #69, and #42 but anything 10 and below is usually what people aim for.

At this point in the games life, collecting craft numbers is becoming increasingly difficult. A craft number cosmetic has not been released in years and many of these items have either found their way into collector's backpacks, are stuck in dead accounts, or are stuck in inactive collector's backpacks.

That's the end of my ramblings. In short, I consider myself to be very fortunate to have been able to purchase this from the previous owner and this is one item that will not be leaving my backpack if I were to ever cash out unless I could find someone who would appreciate it as much as the previous owner and I have.

In case anyone else stumbles on this and doesn't know what it is:

The item in the screenshot is the 2nd Conjurer's Cowl to be crafted. The #1 Conjurer's Cowl sadly does not exist any more, so this is the lowest craft number that is still obtainable on the Cowl.

Back when valve actually gave a half of a shit new craftable cosmetics would be released. For certain cosmetics, but not all for some reason, the first 100 ever crafted were given a number at the end of the item's name corresponding to the order in which they were crafted. After the 100th one the game still tracked the order in which they were crafted, but it was no longer displayed on the item. This same system applies to certain weapons as well.

If you've ever gone on backpack and noticed the number in the upper left hand corner that would be the craft number. 1/2
