Quick and easy way to deal with the Ancient One
By Mathis
I've had a hard time dealing with that massive Tyranid titan, until I found an easy way to eliminate with low investment, even rookie ships works.

Setup and requirement
1) Have Chinchare up to level 3, because you need the corax pattern plasma drive.

2) Engage the ancient one with Spire and four Space Marines Strike Cruisers ideally the MkII ones.

3) Have spire in a sturdy ship (a battleship that can trash small vessels easily, but any CC and up should work) with Supercharged Void Shield.
How to do it
Simple, anyone can do it, it's just mass boarding, it works because the Ancient explode when the troops count reach zero, the difficult part is the Tyranids ramming tendencies, and their focus on boarding, but it can be easily exploited.

Deploy the four strike cruisers in a collum close to map border, and have them silent running, put Spire in his ship in the middle, then start the battle.

You want the strike cruisers to follow the map border up to the same line as the ancient one, who hadn't move, and then straight to him.

The Tyranids starts withs ships, but they will goes straight up for Spire, who is the only visible ship, the hard part is to kite Tyranids with Spire, not destroying too much ships.

The Tyranids reinforcement come when all the initial vessels are destroyed or the ancient is under attack, as such the strike cruisers will be close to the ancient one, undetected, with no other tyranid ships close.

When the strike cruisers are spotted, go full boarding, the broadside one, and honour the chapter, then break in two directions, Tyranid will spawn next to you and will attack, try to keep one or two cruisers close by to board a second time if needed.

Wait until the ancient one loses all troops, and you've win, in my fight, I've got 50 boarding troops on him, the more, the better, so boarding torpedoes are usefull.

The hard part is to survive with spire alone against angry Tyranids, of course you can have more ships with him, but I would prioritize strike cruisers.

In my battle, it was Spire in an imperator, and four strike cruisers, and it work easily.

worked for me, but you got to trigger the Ancient One first, (psychic scream is a good indicator, before you start

Doesn't work. Tyranids can refill their troop count to whatever tier they're at at will.

I hid a bunch of guys in a cloud, kited it so it showed its broadside, and nailed it with as many melta torpedos as I could.
