Do I recommend it?
Stretching your resolution is a really good thing to do in dead by daylight, I've been playing with stretched resolution for about 2 years and I'd never play without it.

In first place, stretching your resolution decrease the amount of pixels being displayed and it saves some FPS, it also makes the game feel more smooth and you see better in-game.

Stretching means making the resolution from 16:9, a 4:3 which is almost a square and then that square, we will make it fit your monitor on all the edges, meaning that we will remove the black bars and it will look great!

Drivers
Make sure You have the NVIDIA drivers installed, also being up to date by installing GeForce Experience

Download here[www.nvidia.com]
Stretching

After you Installed your drivers, right click on your desktop and click on NVIDIA Control Panel.

You can also search in the start bar NVIDIA Control Panel, but the first one I showed you is more easy to do.

Click on Change Resolution, then scroll down and click on Customise...

Click on Create Custom Resolution...

About creating Your resolution
You should've got there

To explain about creating your resolution, I helped a few friends get their own and some of them couldn't because of their monitor that doesn't support that since they don't have a default 1920x1080 monitor.

We are currently trying to use these two resolutions:

  • 1440x1080
    or
  • 1280x1080
Creating the custom resolution
In the first box (Horizontal pixels) type in: 1440

If vertical is 1080 by default (as it should be), leave it like that.

Also, the refresh rate should be by default as you already have it typed in, mine is 144 since I have a 144hz monitor, you could have 60hz, 75hz, 240hz...

I was playing on a 60hz monitor before and I tried overclocking it by typing 75hz Instead of 60, It means that your monitor could get +15hz, more hz, more smooth it moves, not only in game but desktop too.

You could try typing 75hz in the refresh rate box (Only if you have a 60hz monitor). After you click on Test, Your monitor will become black around 3-4 seconds, then it should be back to normal. If it still shows black after typing 75 in the refresh rate box and after you clicked on Test, it means that your monitor doesn't support this refresh rate.

Click on ESC or wait 15 seconds after you clicked on Test and if it doesn't work, type back 60hz.

I tried overclocking my 144hz monitor by around 5,10hz and it looks more worse than smooth so I came back to 144, is enough.

If 1440x1080 doesn't work, You could also try 1280x1080

click on Test, then click on OK

Now, In that small box, click on the resolution you just added

Then click on Apply on the right down corner

You have 15 seconds to click Apply as a test that your monitor shows the resolution your just applied or it will revert back to the resolution you have as default

You should click Yes.
Stretching that resolution
If your resolution has black bars on the right and left, go to Adjust desktop size and position

On the right side click on Full-screen

Don't forget to click Apply after!

I could say yes and no, why I think it works is because you will see the game stretched but it will have black bars on the top and bottom on the monitor, not on left and right, that's the downside but I would 50/50 use the 1440x1080 rather than 1920x1080 since 1920 is so wide
