The Three Step Guide
Navigate to this part of your Dark Souls II directory:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dark Souls II\Game\NGWord
  • Go to the English folder and backup the win32OnlyNgWord file to somewhere else. This is in case for some reason you ever need to restore it. Just to be safe.
  • Then, copy "win32OnlyNgWord" from the Chinese or Korean folder and paste it over the one in the English folder.
    • If your language isn't English, just backup your language's win32OnlyNgWord file and copy the Chinese/Korean version over your respective language instead.

For those curious, these two language packs have blank censor lists and therefore effectively turns it off.

This has so far for everyone who has applied it, not triggered a VAC ban, so it's safe to use.

No, this will not de-censor your name to other people, unless they apply this fix to their game.

That's it! Any questions, please ask.

Thank you to whomever came up with this originally, I've seen it several times across the web but not yet as a Steam guide.

Never seen a Korean swear, you clearly never have taken their dogs away from them before dinner :<

Maple, the censor lists for those two languages are blank, so.... no. Nothing will be censored, not even Chinese/Korean swears.

Good point, Aversion. Just letting people know this is definitely safe, some people are paranoid of being banned.

Good guide, and I wouldn't see why this would trigger a VAC ban when VAC is re-activated. It's not modding, just moving a file around.
