Kowloon Easter Egg Guide
By LilHippy
Kowloon is a custom map for the Zombies portion of Black Ops 3. The idea of this guide is to teach you how to complete the main Easter Egg, and make it to the boss fight. I won't spoil the boss, as he is quite humorous, however if you'd like the spoiler I've included it in Step 10. This guide will NOT teach you how to build the shield or unlock the free perk on the map, as they are not technically necessary to complete the Easter Egg.

Step 1: Complete All Three Challenges
Scattered across the map are three consoles in which the player can interact with to start a challenge or trial. The three challenges are listed below the console locations, as well as how to complete each challenge.

Console 1
The first (recommended) console can be found in the room in which a giant meteor of element 115 rests in the center. This room is accessible through the door right beside Quick Revive. Across the room from Double Tap lies the console. This will always activate the "Lantern Challenge".

Console 2
The second (recommended) console is located along the path across from Electric Cherry. This area is best accessible by reaching the 'furthest' point from Quick Revive; in other words, go to the other side of map from Quick Revive. This will always activate the "Power Challenge".

Console 3
The last (recommended) console can be found right in front of Speed Cola. This area is accessible through the opposite door from Quick Revive. This will always activate the "Upgrade Challenge".

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lantern Challenge"
The lantern challenge is basically a soul collecting step revolving around three lanterns scattered around the map. They're very easy to spot, and take roughly 40 souls each.
The first lantern is located right beside Stamin-Up. It's the glowing cube to the left of the image.
The second lantern is located on the roof of Juggernog, and can be found at the challenge door.
The last lantern can be found in the spawn room or the Pack-a-Punch roof right across from PaP.

After enough souls have been collected, a small firework display will expel from the lantern. Within about two seconds the lantern will be no longer illuminated. When all three are complete, a loud sound will play signifying you have completed the challenge.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Power Challenge"
The power challenge just involves the player turning on every power switch in the map. There are a total of six, and I would include in game locations, however, there are indicators for each section of the map that point to the direction of each switch. If you're having trouble finding one, just run around the entire map until a new indicator appears in your HUD.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Upgrade Challenge"
The upgrade challenge is simply just a Pack-a-Punch challenge. You only need to Pack once, but after you do you are required to get 50 kills with that weapon. It doesn't have to be the same Pack-a-Punched weapon, either. Simply 50 kills with any upgraded weapon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After all challenges have been completed, you can check the roof above Juggernog by the second lantern if the challenge door is open. It houses the Lantern we'll need for upgrading the Sliquifier. If the door is still closed, check that every challenge has been activated and completed. I suggest checking each lantern and if that's completed then there are still Pack-a-Punched kills to be got.

Step 2: Build the Tramplesteam
Consisting of four parts, the Tramplesteam is going to help us access areas of the map not normally accessible to the player. Each one of the four parts can spawn in three unique places, however, those spawns are locked to the rooms/areas you're in. For example, a part that spawns near Speed Cola will always spawn within that vicinity, every game.
NOTE: Juggernog, as well as the workbench, are inaccessible until all 6 power switches have been activated.

The parts are listed below in order of appearance, with each spawn location shown in game.

Flag
The flag will always spawn in the same room as Quick Revive.
  • On a table a couple tables down from Quick Revive.

  • By the Quick Revive machine itself.

  • Upon entering the room, directly ahead laying against the side of a table.

Grate
The grate (or platform) will always spawn in the same room as Double Tap.
  • Right in front of the challenge console.

  • To the left of Double Tap atop a mattress.

  • Outside the room on the second story, resting against the wall.

Fan
The fan will always spawn in the same area as Speed Cola.
  • On a set of pallets just across from Speed Cola.

  • On the corner of the water tower beside Speed Cola.

Engine
The engine will always spawn in the vicinity of StaminUp and Deadshot.
  • To the far left of Stamin-Up on top a barrel; Left of one of the challenge lanterns.

  • Ahead of Deadshot on the railing.

After collecting every part for the Tramplesteam, head to the room where Juggernog is located and build the machine on the crafting bench. This is the only place you can build the machine.

Step 3: Build the Sliquifier
The Sliquifier consists of four parts that each only have one spawn point. This means that you can find the parts in the exact same location every game.
NOTE: The Sliquifier can only be obtained after all 6 power switches have been activated.

The parts are listed in order of appearance, and their locations are shown in game.

"Magazine"
This part can be picked up as soon as you spawn in game.

Sock
This part is located after Speed Cola and just after the I.C.U. perk.

Fire Extinguisher
This part is on the table in front of the glowing contaminated stuff.

Handle
This part is on a bench right in front of Juggernog.

After collecting all of the Sliquifier parts, head to the roof above Juggernog and build the Sliquifier on the workbench located beside PHD Flopper. This is the only place you can build this machine.

Step 4: Upgrade the Sliquifier
The upgraded Sliquifier, called the SL1QU1F1ER, is a red version of the original. It does much more damage, lasts longer, and has a larger area of effect.

Element 115
The first step to obtain the SL1QU1F1ER revolves around obtaining element 115 from the meteor in the room with Double Tap. To collect a sample, we first need a container, which can be found in the same room as Juggernog, just beside Mule Kick.
The location of the Element 115 Canister is shown below.
Now that you have the container, head over the room with the meteor and Double Tap. On the corner of the meteor across from Double Tap, place the canister on the floor. The prompt to place the canister is difficult to activate, so walk around the corner of the rock and keep searching.
The prompt, as well as the placed canister, are shown below.

After 2 full rounds have passed, the player can interact with the canister again, picking it up. Upon returning to the canister after the second round, it will appear glowing and full of element 115.
The filled canister is shown below.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vials of Contaminants
The second part can only be obtained once you've completed Step 1: Complete All Challenges to unlock the gate on the roof above Juggernog. Behind the gate are some exotic lion statues that veteran zombies players will recognize from Die Rise. Between these two lion statues lies the Lantern weapon.

The Lantern weapon and it's location in game are shown below.

Although it does no damage to zombies, I classify it as a weapon because it takes up a weapon slot, meaning it will replace whatever weapon you currently have.
NOTE: The Lantern cannot hurt zombies, however when activated, zombies will stop in their tracks.

Once you've obtained the Lantern, you'll need to run around the map and locate three doors with Lantern symbols drawn in chalk.
The locations of each door is listed and shown below.
  • Right beside Electric Cherry

  • Opposite side of room from I.C.U.

  • Same area as Speed Cola, just outside Quick Revive room.

Inside each room you will find barrels of Nova 6, and lying on the barrels lies a vial. Pick these up.
NOTE: The rooms are quite dark, so having the Lantern helps to see. However, the rooms are also quite small, and it can be very easy to get cornered in one room or another.
Shown below are the Nova 6 canisters in each room, respectively.

Head to the room with the giant contamination canisters where you found the Fire Extinguisher for the Sliquifier. Interact with the control panel connected to the canisters. The player will be prompted with a message saying they must wait 2 full rounds for the final vial to complete. After two full rounds have passed, collect the Irradiated Unstable Element Mixture from the same control panel.
The prompt and the final vial are shown below.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you've obtained the Irradiated Unstable Element Mixture, head to the first lantern right by StaminUp. Inside the room just across from the lantern is a machine in which the player can interact with. The player is prompted that a single full round must pass before the upgrade finishes. After which, the player can obtain the SL1QU1F1ER.
NOTE: Interacting with the machine will take your Sliquifier

Both the location of the machine and the upgrade process are shown below.
  • To the right

  • The prompt.

  • The upgrade.

Step 5: Build the Lightning Rod
To begin this Easter Egg, we will first need to grab a few items to build the Lightning Rod. This rod will be later used to charge the Wundersphere.
NOTE: You MUST have the Tramplesteam built to continue with this step

Located around the map are three missing pieces to the Lightning Rod device. The only way to access these parts are through the use of the Tramplesteam. You might've noticed a couple places in which you felt you could jump across a certain gap, only to find your character misses by just an inch. These areas house these missing pieces.
NOTE: These parts will always spawn in the same place

Listed below are the three missing pieces in order of appearance, as well as their locations in game.

Antenna
The antenna spawns on the second floor of the room housing the Element 115 meteor.

Frame
The frame spawns inside the building ahead of Speed Cola with the blown out wall.

Electrical Generator
The generator spawns above the last power switch behind StaminUp, just across from the Power Challenge console.

Once all parts have been collected, head to the roof above Juggernog and locate the Lightning Rod. If all parts have been collected, a giant glowing template will rest in place of the location of the Lightning Rod. The player must build the Rod in similar fashion to every other build-able, however, you can shoot during the building process.
The glowing template is shown below.

Step 6: Obtain the Wundersphere
The next step in the Easter Egg requires you to charge three generators located around the map. To do this, we will first need to obtain the Wundersphere.

Located on the roof above Juggernog, in the hallway just beside Elemental Pop, lies a locker that cannot be accessed without a key-card.
The locker location is shown below. It is to the right in the photo.

The key-card can be found hovering above the element 115 meteor, in the hole of the ceiling. To obtain it, you'll need to ride the zip-line from the Lighting Rod build location to the meteor room. Once you've dropped off the zip-line, you'll need to correctly time pressing the interaction key as you fall in order to grab the key-card.
NOTE: This step can be quite annoying, as any failure results in having to run all the way back up to the roof above Juggernog. A good trick to get this every time: imagine that as you ride the zip-line you are facing North, or 12 o' clock. As soon as your character drops, turn to face the Northeast, or about 1 to 2 o' clock. The timing can be difficult, but doing this ensures you have the most amount of time to interact with the prompt.
The key-card's location is shown below from two different points.
  • Inside the meteor room.

  • On the roof, from the zip-line.

Once you've collected the key-card, you can head back over to the locker we found on the roof above Juggernog and unlock it. Inside you will find the Uncharged Wundersphere sitting on the floor.
The Wundersphere is shown below, after the locker has been opened.
Step 7: Charge the Generators
Located around the map are three generators that need to be charged. These generators will activate the final soul-collecting step once they've been powered on. In order to power these generators, we'll need to use the Wundersphere.

To begin, start by placing the Uncharged Wundersphere in our newly built Lightning Rod. The sphere should fit inside the frame we picked up from the blown-out-wall room. After it has been inserted, wait roughly twenty seconds or so and lighting should strike the Lightning Rod. The electrical components will convert the incoming lighting into power that can be used for the Wundersphere.
The Wundersphere both powered and not powered are shown below.

Now that you have obtained a charged Wundersphere, you'll need to go to one of the three generators previously mentioned.
The generator locations are as follows:
  • Right beside Juggernog.

  • Right beside Speed Cola.

  • Right in front of StaminUp.

Once you've located a generator, place the Charged Wundersphere in the frame that looks similar to the frame of the Lightning Rod. BE CAREFUL — as soon as you place the Charged Wundersphere into one of the generators, purple barriers will appear locking you into a confined area. After roughly a minute or so of being locked in, the Wundersphere will finish powering the generator, and the light on the generator will turn from red to green.
NOTE: The generator right beside Speed Cola is easily the most challenging, as the area you are locked in is less than half the size of the other two areas.
The purple barriers are shown below, as well as what the completed generator should look like.

After each generator is completed, you will need to recharge the Wundersphere by taking it back to the Lightning Rod to be struck again. You'll need to charge the Wundersphere a total of 4 times: Once before the first generator, and one time after all three.
NOTE: Even after all generators have been completed, you MUST recharge the Wundersphere to move on to the next step.
Step 8: Place the Wundersphere
Veteran zombies players are going to love the next step, and most likely anyone else.
REMINDER: The Wunderspere must be charged in order to move on to the following step in the Easter Egg.

After all three generators are complete, take the Wundersphere back to the roof above Juggernog where you picked up the Lantern weapon. Across from the two lion statues lies a pedestal close to the fence.
Pedestal location shown in left of picture.

Go up to the pedestal and place the Wundersphere on top.
The Wundersphere placed on the pedestal is shown below.

Using the SL1QU1F1ER, shoot the Wundersphere and carefully watch where it goes. As soon as it is shot, the sphere will fly in the direction of Pack-a-Punch, but will eventually bounce all the way down towards Speed Cola. The player must hunt the ball down and shoot the Wundersphere to keep it moving. There are a total of 5 spots the ball will get stuck at, in which the player will need to shoot the sphere.
The 5 spots, in order, are as follows:
  • In the hallway leading directly towards Speed Cola.

  • In the hallway leading to the contamination containers. (yes i edited the photo)

  • In the hallway leading to Deadshot.

  • On the crate between StaminUp and the first lantern.

  • Up high on the wooden pole on the roof above Juggernog, just beside Elemental Pop.

After shooting it for the fifth time — from the wooden pole — the Wundersphere will fly across the map into the giant statue above Pack-a-Punch. You will not need to shoot the sphere anymore.
The final spot, inside the mouth of the statue above Pack-a-Punch.
Step 9: Collect Souls
Once the Wundersphere has reached it's final location, you can now move on to the final step before the boss fight. Before we can fight the main fight, we first must sacrifice around 150 zombies to the sphere.

To do this, go up to the Pack-a-Punch roof and head towards the highest point where the first Sliquifier part spawns. Once there, a prompt will display telling the player the Satisfaction Trial must begin.
The prompt is shown below.

Once activated, the player will no longer be able to leave the Pack-a-Punch roof. However, not all is bad as Pack-a-Punch is still available during this time, along with Vigor Rush. Simply kill as many zombies as possible, and after some time the world will turn white for a moment before a new prompt appears. As you kill zombies, you will notice their souls being collected by the Wundersphere.

At this point, all players will receive a free Perkaholic, and the choice for the final boss becomes yours.
NOTE: The Perkaholic is not everlasting
Step 10: Boss Fight
As you stand in the area in which you activated the Satisfaction Trial, a new prompt appears declaring the player must Find the power source of the Titan you must face....
The final prompt is shown below.

This next step will initiate the boss fight. There is no turning back.

Once the new prompt is being displayed, head over the meteor room with Double Tap again. Around the meteor you will find the final prompt asking if you'd like to begin the boss fight.
NOTE: I absolutely recommend getting all perks, or at the very least good weapons, as the boss' primary attack will down any players outside in a single hit... but we'll get there.
The boss fight prompt is shown below.

Boss Fight

Once you begin the boss fight, a new indicator will appear on your HUD as giant distant footsteps march in the distance. You'll need to sprint towards Speed Cola, and upon arrival, the boss fight will begin.

Attacks

The boss has two attacks I know of so far — the first involves obliterating everything in sight. This attack will down any player standing outside in just one hit, however, the boss will make a loud constant sound that will increase in pitch and volume over time. After roughly 5 seconds of hearing this sound, the floor will shake and any player standing outside in the open will be obliterated.

The second basically sees the boss spit fire balls down on the players head. The damage they do is nothing compared to his other attack, so its likely you can take up to around three of these attacks before you go down. Unfortunately, the attack basically causes the sky to rain these balls, so it might be in the players' best interest to stay inside.

How to Hurt the Boss

Something I'm sure you'll notice right away is the lack of hit-markers when shooting directly at the boss. This is because bullets, as well as the Sliquifier, are harmless to him. The only way to do damage to the boss is by using the Revelations beam trap thing. They will spawn within the center of the boss fight, and the first thing the player should do is activate it. This will cause the beam trap to charge up, and as soon as it finishes, activate the trap and shoot the boss.

After the first beam trap hit, you'll be directed towards other areas of the map to rinse and repeat. After the third beam has been fired, you will have to run around and activate all three beams. This will kill the boss and you will have beaten Kowloon.

WARNING — BOSS SPOILERS BELOW. THE BOSS IS VERY HUMOROUS AND REWARDING. PICTURE INCLUDED

The boss is Godzilla.
Here's a picture to show just how shredded this man is.
Tips and Key Notes
This map is really fun because it is really intense. The fact that half of the map consists of tight corridors and zombies that spawn on every side of you means you'll be having a tough time on this map. At least, I personally did.

As far as tips go, the following range from pretty straightforward stuff to some early game strategies to help you out --
  • Zombies seem to sprint pretty fast, so it's best to move through the map with heavy caution.
  • Early rounds are a beating compared to later ones, so for those struggling in the earlier steps of the egg, don't give up! It only gets easier the more you complete.
  • Use the Sliquifier often in the close quarters rooms, assuming you don't have a Pack-a-Punched weapon.
  • You can start filling the lanterns by round 4.
  • It is recommended to stay in the spawn area until round 4 the latest, but do not spend any points.
  • It is recommended to do the steps in order, as they provide the quickest means of completing the egg.
