STEP #1:
In order to start this is to go to: FILE EXPLORER/(your hard drive)/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Fallout 3 (Or Fallout 3 goty) and right click on it ONCE and a menu pops up, click on PROPERTIES.
Final Step:
Go to COMPATIBILITY and click on RUN THIS PROGRAM IN COMPATIBILITY MODE FOR: and you click on (perferably) Windows XP (Package 2). Run the game and you can play!
Problems
Current problems: The current problems people get. Make sure (Before you comment) your problem is here, and if it's solved.

1.The original 42 could not be located in the dynamic link library: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\xlive.dll
Status: Not fixed
NOTES!!!
This may have fixed your problem, but there WILL be a border around the window of the game. Even in Full Screen!

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS, INCLUDING:

-Save Corruption

-PC messing up

-Fallout stop working all together

If you have issues, I cannot help you anymore, mainly because I upgraded to Windows 10. I will keep the guide up, but I can't solve ANYTHING. The community will have to solve it, and if a problem is solved, I'll add it to the problems tab along with the status "resolved". I hope this doesn't make people think this guide is useless because I can't personally find the solution. This guide WILL continue to update with new problems and answers, so everyone can enjoy the best version of Fallout 3 before they get their hands on Fallout 4. Thank you for reading this small essay of mine, and you better stay sexy inside the beautiful enviroment of Fallout 3. :)

honestly i cant remember, the only thing i can say to people trying to fix there game is: Google it, ask on forums, if that doesnt work, ask steam for a refund and then get angry if they say "no its been more than 14 days!"

I think I have an idea for you Spectre, try installing (I feel bad for you) LIVE. Why I think this is because of your error: "C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\xlive.dll"

I hope this works so I can change the status of this error to "Solved".
