All trees have a chance to drop seeds.


Below is my results from chopping down 10 trees of each type, then 100 trees. Then I will give my opinion on which tree is the best.

• Found on Small and Large Islands.

• Takes 15 Minutes to grow.
  
• Pine Trees will always give 7 WOOD.

• Found on Balboa Island and Evergreen Islands.

• Birch Trees will always give 7 WOOD.

• Found in Tangaroa.
  
• Takes 12 Minutes to grow.
  
• Banana Trees will always give 4 WOOD and 2 BANANA (plus chance for some extra bananas).

With over 200 hours of gameplay on the Raft, I can confidently say Banana Trees are the best to have overall. While Pine and Birch Trees give the most wood, their seed drop rate is very low. The 4 wood per Banana Tree is a good trade off with their high rate of seed drops. This means you can constantly replant them without worry of running out and having to search for more. You will have more wood in the long run from this.

On my playthrough, I have 12 Large Crop Plots on my Raft. All of these will grow Banana Trees. Ever since I figured out this little trick, I've been able to complete a lot of my huge projects I've had around my Raft, as wood is the main crafting ingredient in most recipes. With so much wood, I started upgrading my old foundation to the solid foundation that was added in the "The Renovation Update" for a much better look.

Banana Trees
Pros:

Cons:

• No Leaves

Notes:

• Leaves will pile up fast from collection nets
  
• Wood will pile up fast from the nonstop seed supply

(So much wood, I started making a stairway to the sky. Completely made of solid wood.)

With how frequent banana seeds drop, you'll start having chest fulls of them.

My tip: Keep them.

Have a storage area dedicated to these. As the game continues to update, the devs may decrease the drop rate as they've done with past trees. If that happens, you'll regret throwing those extra seeds overboard as I have done in the past with palm seeds.

As for all the extra bananas. Biofuel Refiner. Start dumping them in there.
