SS Water Witch 1862

Açıklama
Steam Packet - S.S. Water Witch, (Spring,1862 - November, 1863)

Note: This ship is an out of date historical depiction, the real ship did not look like this. This was based off of historians
guesses, models, and depictions of how the boat could have looked, that are now all out of date.

This is based off a boat that sailed on Lake Huron.

Backstory (True)

The S.S. Water Witch could best be described as a "experimental" boat, using a never before seen engine configuration that was only ever used by the Water Witch and its sister ship the B.F. Wade. The story of this unique boat begins at the beginning of the civil war in the spring of 1862, when a wooden hull white steamboat was launched from Newport, Michigan with the name "Water Witch" painted on the bow and stern. The Water Witch was not just unique for being one of two beam board steamers to every sail the great lakes, but the Water Witch also had a one of a kind rubber lined bulkhead at the bow, meaning that if its bow was damaged the ship would still be afloat. This radical bulkhead design was put to the test on Saturday, June 7th, 1862, when the Water Witch's engine came to pieces. The damage that occurred from this sudden malfunction was enough to cause the water Witch to start sinking. The thing that saved the Water Witch that day was the fact that the bilge pumps where in the bow of the boat and the fact that the air trapped in the bow bulkhead which kept it afloat. The Water Witch had survived itself that day in 1862...but it wouldn't be so lucky a second time. In a strong November Gale in 1863, the schooner G.D. Norris spotted the Water Witch listing hard to starboard with the funnel flying off the top deck, seeing the Water Witch sinking some of the G.D. Norris's deckhands started climbing the rigging for a better look. By the time the deckhands had reached the top of the mast, the water Witch had vanished, never to be seen again...

I found that it's actually a very easy fix. You simply need to set the boiler water to 4% in the builder. Also, one other thing that I found was that the pilothouse has no light, even though there is a switch for one. On a side note, I very much enjoy this creation, and love sailing around in it!
