Middle click a tile to get or select its item! Works for most tiles and walls and even modded ones!
You can also set a setting in the config to give you the item if you don't have it; useful for builders.

Updated to 1.4.4. You can now set the Pick Block button in the controls menu; Default is Mouse3

I agree with @biancapowell, the input should be customisable in the controls menu

can it rather than using mouse3 in the general options for its controls use a custom one? like in the mod controls section? since I have a mod that already uses mouse3 and I would like to change it but both have to use mouse3 within the general section.
