Meta Knight from the Kirby series glides into Rivals of Aether!

Meta Knight’s moveset is mostly intact from Super Smash Bros., although with some changes to better accommodate the gameplay of Rivals. Rush at your opponents with fast attack to repeatedly deal damage, and use your Specials to move about the battlefield and take out your opponents!

Neutral Special: Mach Tornado
In comparison to its incarnations in Smash Bros., this is more in line with Smash Ultimate’s version of the move. By holding the special button, you can rise. This move has a strong hitbox at the start with a weaker hitbox that lingers for the rest of the move. This move will send you into pratfall, so be careful.

Forward Special: Dimensional Cape
This might seem weird to put this move on FSpecial and NOT DSpecial, but that was to make room for his new DSpecial. So Dimensional Cape was moved to FSpecial, replacing Drill Rush entirely. By using his cape, Meta Knight can disappear and teleport away a fixed distance. You can also not move anywhere by not inputting any direction. Hold the Special button to reappear with a slash! If you hit the opponent with your slash, you can avoid pratfall!

Up Special: Shuttle Loop
Meta Knight will slash upward, then circle around into a glide. This move is more in line with how it appears in Brawl than it is in Smash 4 or Ultimate. When gliding, input up or down to move in the corresponding direction. If you either cancel the move with an airdodge, cancel the move with an aerial and whiff said aerial or glide for too long, you will be put into pratfall, so watch out! You can also cancel the move with DSpecial when gliding. Hitting a wall will bounce you off of it. Chase after opponents with this move to continue a combo, or use it as a vertical finisher with its initial hitbox!

Down Special: Meta Condor Dive
Taken directly from Meta Knight’s moveset from the Kirby games, Meta Knight dives upward then dives downward at an arc. On hit, this will spike opponents as well as bounce Meta Knight upward. Meta Knight will also bounce upward upon hitting the ground. This move can be canceled with a doublejump or an airdodge after falling for a while, so it’s not a suicide move if used offstage. Use this as a nasty combo extender onstage or finisher offstage!

YOOOO this character is sooo goood but one problem,his ladder feels really inconsistant for some reason like i cant really put my finger on it but its inconsistant mby add more knockback to his up b or give him another jump. otherwise, great charachter! (sorry for bad spelling)

This is a really good character, small issue however.

When pick the "Novel" alt for this character and win with him, it plays the victory them for the last alternate colour that you used, but If you used the Novel colour first and won, it just plays the default rivals victory theme.

Great character, just wish there was a way to swap the inputs for Dimensional Cape and Condor Dive, it really messes with my muscle memory.

Went from 3 stocking CPUs to getting 3 stocked by this abomination. Can’t tell if I just suck. You can bet I’m keeping him in tho, what roster is complete without a few broken characters

I've been using this Meta Knight for a while and it's become my favorite version of playable Meta Knight. However, I recently tried using him and it just crashes my game. I don't know if this is a problem on my end, or due to an issue in a recent update, but it's pretty sad ngl :/

Ah, yes.

Meta knight is still as, if not more powerful then he was in brawl. (Because of wave dashing.)

They sure do grow up fast, makes me shed a tear. :marten_sip:
