How to Project and Build
A video guide is available showing the steps to weld the printer.

  1. Build the Projector first. + symbol facing Up, and the | symbol facing forward.
  2. Build a Battery below the Projector.
  3. Load the Blueprint onto the Projector.
  4. Weld the Station.
  5. Continue onto the steps to Initialize the Printer.
How to Initialize the Printer
A video guide is available showing the steps to initialize the printer.
https://youtu.be/H-0iStEF4jw

The following steps need to be performed once after the station is welded from a projected blueprint. These steps must be completed even if the printer is pasted into world in Creative Mode.
  1. Build a Light Armor Slope 2X1X1 Base on the exposed partially extended Piston.
  2. Build a Light Armor Half Sloped Corner on both sides of the previously built Light Armor Slope 2X1X1 Base.
  3. Build a Landing Gear underneath the previously built Light Armor Slope 2X1X1 Base. Put the "longer" side facing away from the Welders.
  4. Access the console. Search for Landing Gear. Rename the Landing Gear (incomplete) to "PrintBed Mover Moving Landing Gear" and add it to a group named "PrintBed Mover Moving Landing Gear". Click Save.
  5. Uncheck Autolock.
  6. Weld the previous placed blocks.
  7. Paint the light armor blocks and Landing Gear.
  8. Grind down the two light blue Half Light Armor Blocks connecting the PrintBed Mover to the Station.
  9. Access the Console on the nearby Battery, and convert the grid to a Ship. Give the grid a friendly name, "PrintBed Mover"
  10. Grind Down the Advanced Rotor Part on the Advanced Rotor.
  11. Press the Initialize button (first button) on the Button Panel nearby the Advanced Rotor.
  12. Wait while the PrintBed Mover is moved along with the Welder and is fully seated into the Advanced Rotor. Movement will temporarily stop part of the way through while the PrintBed Mover repositions itself, continuing waiting.
  13. Press the PrintBed Mover Stabilizing Landing Gear button (second button) on the Button Panel nearby the Advanced Rotor.
  14. Press the Wekder Head Rotor button (third button) on the Button Panel nearby the Advanced Rotor. This will lock the Welder onto the Advanced Rotor.
  15. Grind down the single light blue Half Light Armor Blocks connecting the PrintBed Mover to the Welders.
  16. The Bootstrap Printer Station is now ready to use.

I was trying to remember how to set up a much, much smaller printer and print out a ship but couldn't do, just a complete brain fart. So I looked in the guide which lead to yours, I was intriguide by the first clip, really confused by the second and then totally blown away by the last. Just stunned at how you managed to work out all of the steps and stages to make it 'look' so simple when it is the complete opposite. Fantastice work ands brain power there mate, just F.N. great. I won't be needing anything likethis for along time but just had to rant about your work. Chhers dude.

@LucidThePlagueDoctor Use the spur that fits the ship you are trying to print, or make your own, or add onto an existing one. It's only purpose is to serve as a grind-able block between the printer and the ship being printed.

If you have something like an engine nacelle that is connected to the ship several blocks along the print job, you'll want to make sure the spur connects the nacelle.
