About the Aircraft:

The P-40 Warhawk is the third most produced American Fighter of WWII and it was used extensively by most of the allies in every Theater of the War, this variant of the Aircraft, the P-40F, uses a Packard Rolls Royce Merlin instead of the usual Allison V-1710. The idea to use this engine instead of the Allison originates with the British who were noticing their Allison equipped Mustangs and Kittyhawks (their version of the Warhawk) were performed terribly at high altitude. These new Merlin equipped P-40s were superior than the Allison equipped P-40s in terms of performance however they lacked the reliability of the Allison and had a decreased directional stability.

Aircraft Operation Tip:

1. Make sure to use minimal rudder while taxiing

2. Try to keep the throttle at 60-70% for Cruising as its the most fuel efficient

3. Might need to use Rudder on Takeoff




Take Off:

1. Close Canopy (if not already closed)

2. Turn on wheel break

3. Throttle up to 20%

4. Make sure RPS is at 4-4.6%

5. Turn off wheel break and slowly Throttle up to 50% with full back stick, use rudder if needed

6. Once you lift off bring in your Landing Gear



Landing:

1. Slow to 40-30% Throttle

2. Extend your gear

3. Land
