uh, it turns out Customize Animals actually includes a trainability setting for each animal too, so .... thanks :)

This mod "Customize Animals" lets you simply turn off the Roam Interval stat, that should be ok

livestock animals have a "roam interval" stat that you might consider disabling as part of this mod, there does not seem to be a way to adjust this without modding. I'll also look for a mod that does this I guess.

This makes pen type animals (boomalopes, toxalopes etc) wander outside of pens and is pretty annoying to manage, Ilike the idea a lot and want to use this but I don't see how to make it tolerable to use with the whole pen mechanic.

I don't know which mod would be causing the issue, but try moving this mod below those ones in your mod list

Seems to have some compatibility issues. I am slightly deranged so I have a very large modlist, so this may be incompatible with VGE, draftable animals, or maybe even Sentient Animals Continued. I had Train All Animals and Animal Work Implants before, but even after removing those, new animals didn't have hauling training. Curiously, there's still options to enable cleaning, hauling, mining, crafting, research, etc in the animal tab. I'll do some more experimenting to pin down the cause.
