Zombie Farming Locations

This guide is an evolving list of the most efficient farming methods for each type of zombie. Since many of these farming location have a variety of zombies you will be able to work on multiple weapon upgrades during each run. Please feel free to share your favorite zombie farm locations and ill be happy to add them to the guide (and credit you).

Introduction
The purpose of this guide is to create quick reference for players trying to complete the DLC weapon upgrade challenges. I will add some of my favorite farming locations and I encourage you to share some of your favorites in the comments and I will try to add them to the guide when I have time.

I'm not very good at formatting so I will do my best to make it as clear as possible. My intentions are to list the primary zombie being farmed in a location as well as secondary zombies that you can farm along the way in case you are working on multiple challenges. It will look something like this:

**I recommend you play on easy with 4 player zombies to be as efficient as possible.

**A few farming methods will require you to be on nightmare mode. If so, I will state that in the beginning of the entry with the map location.

**Some locations will be posted more then once if it has multiple "Primary" zombies.

Armored Zombie
PRIMARY: Armored Zombie
SECONDARY: Engineer, Zombie Grunts

Located at Molten Nightmare - Night on the Town. Leaving the safe house will lead you to a blood fountain. Activating the blood fountain will spawn about 8 Armored Zombies and ton of Engineers with Zombie grunts mixed in. Zombies will keep coming if you kill them outside of the fountain zone. No more armored zombies will spawn after the initial surge of them.

PRIMARY: Armored Zombie
SECONDARY: Elite, Zombie Grunt

Located at Terror Lab - City of Secrets. When leaving the safe house, head to the blood fountain on the right side if the map. A surge of Armored Zombies will spawn but no more after that. This also an unlimited source of Zombie Grunts if they are killed outside of the fountain zone. Its also common for a random Elite to spawn here.

PRIMARY: Armored Zombie
SECONDARY: Sniper, Necromancer

Located at Zombie Zoo - Planetarium Assault. Leaving the safe house will lead you into an open area where a Necromancer is waiting. Killing that Necromancer will spawn several more. You can use the Necromancers to infinitely kill and revive the Armored Zombies in the arena, you can do this more efficiently by destroying the bodies of other zombies so that only the Armored Zombies are revivable (Thanks for the tip IS0LAT0R). Multiple Snipers will spawn on the outside of the arena after killing a few Necromancers.

PRIMARY: Armored Zombie
SECONDARY: Flamer (Elite), Shadow Demon, Creeper

Located at Zombie Zoo - Don't Tap the Glass. Make you way through the level until you get to room with the giant shark hanging from the ceiling. You will have an objective that leads you to a room with a switch and a Flamer. After hitting that switch the objective will lead you back downstairs to hit another switch. After hitting the second switch a hoard of Creepers will crawl out of the tank that's below the hanging shark. After the rush of Creepers have spawned, 15+ Armored Zombie will spawn followed by a Shadow Demon. (Thanks for the tip Mr Al)

SECONDARY: Butcher (Elite), Creeper

Located at Zombie Zoo - Don't Tap the Glass in Nightmare Mode. Immediately after leaving the safe house a group of about 5 Armored Zombies will be waiting in a hallway. Continuing through the broken doors you will encounter 2 Butchers in an circular room. After defeating the Butchers continue until you reach a set of stairs. An Infinite amount of Creepers will pour down the stairs as long as you stay at the bottom of the stairs. (Big thanks to Arclight for the tip)
Blind Screamer
PRIMARY: Blind Screamer
SECONDARY: Grenadier, Armored Zombie, Heavy Gunner (Elite), Creepers

Located at Zombie Zoo - Welcome to the Jungle. After leaving the safe room the first Blind Screamer can be found in an animal enclosure. After killing the first screamer follow the corridor to the second animal enclosure to find another screamer. After the Screamer, go up the stairs and exit the house. Outside the house you will find a handful of Armored Zombies and Grenadiers. Once inside the giant greenhouse you will hit a checkpoint proceed to fight though the green house until you see room with a big rhino statute. A Heavy Gunner surrounded by Creepers will spawn next to the rhino statue. If you wish farm the Heavy Gunner DO NOT proceed past the rhino room, respawn at checkpoint after killing the Heavy Gunner to start back at the beginning of the greenhouse.

PRIMARY: Blind Screamer
SECONDARY: Zombie Grunt

Located at Hell Base - Not in Kansas Anymore. After leaving the safe out you will encounter a fork in the path, both paths will have one Blind Screamer on it. further down the path there will be an additional Blind Screamer where the paths connect again (a total of 3 Blind Screamers). You can run past the Blind Screamers and climb up a ledge where they cant reach you, but be careful as a handful of Zombie Grunts will spawn ahead of the path after climbing the ledge. Butcher (Elite)
PRIMARY: Butcher (Elite)
SECONDARY: N/A

Located at Rotten Coast - The Best Laid Plans. After leaving the safe house follow the path down into the sewer. Once you reach the bottom of the sewer a Butcher will break though some wooden boards at the end of a short corridor. This is relatively close to the safe house you start at so its quick to repeat this run.

Located at Hell Base - Let's Get Out of Here using Nightmare Mode. Once leaving the saferoom pick up the ringing phone and 3 Butchers will spawn. There is a panzerschreck by the elevator that can be used to help remove the helmets off the butchers.

Commander (Officer)
PRIMARY: Commander (Officer)
SECONDARY: Flamer (Elite), Enraged Zombie

Located at Death Canal - Ghosts and Gondolas. Leave the safe house and cross the bridge. Once on the other side of the bridge, A wall will explode and a Flamer will appear. After killing the Flamer, continue a short distance, defeat a small wave of zombies, and enter the building where you will see a Commander on top of a balcony. Killing the first Commander will spawn another Commander on the ground floor. Restarting at checkpoint immediately after killing the two Commanders will put back at the start of the building, making it easy to farm the Commander. leaving the Commander alive will give you an unlimited source of Enraged Zombies.

PRIMARY: Commander (Officer)
SECONDARY: Zombie Grunt, Enraged Zombie, Sniper

Located at All Roads Lead to Hell - Hitler's Welcome Party. After leaving the safe house there will be a bunch of Grunt Zombies surrounding 3 explosive barrels as well as a Commander. Shoot the barrels to kill the majority of the grunts. After shooting the barrels Snipers will spawn on the surrounding buildings.
Creeper
PRIMARY: Creeper
SECONDARY: Flamer (Elite)

Located at Meat Locker - Into Darkness. After leaving the safe room, your objective will be to activate 4 different switches. After activating each switch a group of Creepers will spawn. After the power is on, it will lead you to a closed door. When the door opens a Flamer will be waiting for you.

PRIMARY: Creeper
SECONDARY: Suicider, Suicider General (Officer)

Located at Molten Nightmare - Come Hell or High Lava. Leave the safe room and follow the path until you get to a small open field with some ruins in the corner. Here you will fight Creepers and Suiciders. After a few waves, 2 Suicider Generals will spawn. You can also leave them alive and kill the Suiciders that they spawn.

Engineer
PRIMARY: Engineer
SECONDARY: Armored Zombie, Zombie Grunts

After killing the Flamer, continue a short distance, defeat a small wave of zombies, and enter the building where you will see a Commander on top of a balcony. PRIMARY: Enraged Zombie (Skeletons)
SECONDARY: N/A

Located at Deeper than Hell - The Dark Beneath. Leaving the safe house, you will walk up to a wooden wall where multiple Enraged Zombies (Skeletons) will break through and attack you. After killing them, proceed through and activate the generator where even more Enraged Zombies (Skeletons) will spawn. After killing them, restart from checkpoint and repeat the process. Flamer (Elite)
PRIMARY: Flamer (Elite)
SECONDARY: Commander (Officer), Enraged Zombie

Located at Death Canal - Ghosts and Gondolas. Leave the safe house and cross the bridge. Once on the other side of the bridge, A wall will explode and a Flamer will appear. After killing the Flamer, continue a short distance, defeat a small wave of zombies, and enter the building where you will see a Commander on top of a balcony. Killing the first Commander will spawn another Commander on the ground floor. Restarting at checkpoint immediately after killing the two Commanders will put back at the start of the building, making it easy to farm the Commander. leaving the Commander alive will give you an unlimited source of Enraged Zombies.
Grenadier
PRIMARY: Grenadier
SECONDARY: Zombie Grunt

Located at Zombie Zoo - Trouble at the Zoo. After leaving the safe house you will find yourself at the entrance to the zoo. After killing a few zombies, you will be introduced to the Grenadier. Several Grenadiers will spawn as well as a load of Zombie Grunts.

Located At Terminal Error - Ghost of Vengeance. After leaving the safe room you will be attacked by a hoard of zombies containing a Heavy Gunner and 4 Grenadiers. (Thanks Ch1oRinE.)

Heavy Gunner (Elite)
PRIMARY: Heavy Gunner (Elite)
SECONDARY: Grenadier, Armored Zombie, Blind Screamer, Creepers

Located at Zombie Zoo - Welcome to the Jungle. After leaving the safe room the first Blind Screamer can be found in an animal enclosure. Located at Alpine Blitz - Lumberjacked. After leaving the safe area follow the train tracks until you get the 'Clear the hoard' objective. A few Suiciders will run out of the train tunnel followed by a Heavy Gunner and hoard of Zombie Grunts that have Creepers, Engineers, and Armored Zombies sprinkled throughout. This is also a great place to get 50m+ kills. (Thanks IS0LAT0R)

Shadow Demon
PRIMARY: Shadow Demon
SECONDARY: Suicider, Zombie Grunts


Located at Death Canal - Shadows of Venice. Leaving the safe room will lead you to a blood fountain. The blood fountain will spawn Zombie grunts and, periodically, a Suicider. Zombie grunts will continue to spawn if you kill them outside of the fountain zone. After the blood fountain follow to path to a bridge. Several Suiciders will spawn on top of this bridge. Once on top of the bridge you will be introduced to the Shadow Demon, which will spawn on the other side of the bridge. Restarting at check point after killing the Shadow Demon will put you back at the top of the bridge, making the Shadow Demon easy to farm.

Located at Molten Nightmare - Hot on the Trail. After leaving safe house and talking to the cultist behind the locked door go through the door that is knocked down by the zombie and go to the outside balconies. There will be a small group of Zombie Grunts in your way. At the end of the balcony there will be about 5 Snipers out on the rooftops in the town in front of you. Suicider
PRIMARY: Suicider
SECONDARY: Suicider General (Officer), Creeper

Located at Molten Nightmare - Come Hell or High Lava. Leave the safe room and follow the path until you get to a small open field with some ruins in the corner. Here you will fight Creepers and Suiciders. After a few waves, 2 Suicider Generals will spawn. You can also leave them alive and kill the Suiciders that they spawn.
Suicider Commander (Officer)
PRIMARY: Suicider General (Officer)
SECONDARY: Suicider, Creeper

Located at Molten Nightmare - Come Hell or High Lava. Leave the safe room and follow the path until you get to a small open field with some ruins in the corner. Here you will fight Creepers and Suiciders. After a few waves, 2 Suicider Generals will spawn. You can also leave them alive and kill the Suiciders that they spawn.
Water Zombie (Incl. Spitter)
Primary: Water Zombie
Secondary: N/A

Located at Rotten Coast - Trouble in the Styx. Exit the safe house and go a short distance until you get the "SURVIVE THE ZOMBIE HOARD" objective. Hoards of Water Zombies and Spitters will start walking out of the water.
Zombie Grunt (Incl. Ammo carrier and Medic zombie)
PRIMARY: Zombie Grunt
SECONDARY: Sniper

Found at Blood Count - Keep of Death. Simply activate the blood fountain right in front of the safe house and Zombie Grunts will pour out of either the left or right side of the fountain. as long as you kill the zombies outside of the fountain zone they will keep coming. Sniper zombies will occasionally spawn on top of the castle wall behind the blood fountain.

@Ганфайтер Medics spawn with zombie grunts so anywhere with a lot of zombie grunt spawns.

There's another good Suicider spot, and it's the very start of Meat Locker "The Hunt For Dr. Schweiger" when you go past the house on the left to the more open area, and around 10 Suiciders run after you. Spam that checkpoint however many times you want. Recommended to go Easy, 4 player setup.
Just always preferred this way over the Molten Nightmare method so anyone else who didn't like that one can do this instead.

for suicide commanders you can use Hell Base part 4, steal the relic
after starting the fight 3 of them spawn, you can get them much faster compared to the Molten Nightmare one

also a motherload of ammo carriers spawn

For those who want to do the 50m with a rifle and don't have the Alpine Blitz DLC, you can do it at the end of the first chapter of Death Canal. When the boat stops at the shelter to end the level, the zombies are spread out on top of the buildings and you have an ammo box fixed to the boat.

Just found Abaddon Asylum Chapter 1 "Angel" is probably the best medic farm. After going out of the safe room, go right generally. You'll encounter some loose group of zombies, each group contain at least one medic and one shieldless grenadier. If you find zombies stop appearing before step into a small town, reload the safe room. You can have 3 to 5 medic in each run this way.

The final battle of the mission has several waves of dozens of suiciders each spawning alongside hordes of grunts and armored zombies. Eventually, several elites spawn.
