Since 2011, the negotiations between the Altis government and the insurgent leaders of the ALF (Altis Liberation Front), and the AOCB (Altian Orthodox Christian Battalion), have been kept in tension as agreements could not be reached due to the great mistrust generated by the numerous occasions in which ceasefires have been violated in the previous triennium, of which both sides accuse each other. The negotiations, as they dragged on, have generated dissent, especially among the ALF insurgents, with respect to their own leaders, adding to the atmosphere of tension a real possibility that hostilities will resume because of small groups that intend to continue by way of arms.

The situation in the area sorrounding the city of Pyrgos is getting more and more complex. As rogue groups attempt to destabilize the process of negotiations between the Altian government and the insurgency, ALTFOR troops increase their numbers to prevent the escalation of the conflict, increasing the number of mounted and combined patrols with the Altis Armed Forces (AAF).
