I too came back to see if this mod was updated, since I find even the updated map to be too colorful at nearer zooms and prefer this still!

Would it be possible to make a variant of this mod which keeps the look of the map immediately after the zoomed in transition from the paper map mode like in the first image? I personally love the look of the terrain at that stage but personally dislike the look whereby it becomes too transparent. Great mod regardless!
