Can't Touch This - Achievement Guide
By Sostin
Some tips and a guide on how to get the Can't Touch This achievement.
Description: Clear an Act on Suicide difficulty without taking any damage.
This guide will focus on the Wizard class. It's possible to do it with Ranger class too, maybe in future I add to the guide.

Achievement Basic Rules
1 - You must complete an act (Killing the final boss of Act 1,2 or 3) in Suicide difficulty, with any class, without taking damage of any kind in any stage.
2 - Your summons/slave/dog can take damage or die, no problem.
Basic Gameplay
  • Be patient!
  • Try to always kill the enemies one by one.
  • After a kill back to a safe place(prefferently a visited area) and recharge your mana bar (see: Classicist Perk).
  • Use the bushes when available. The bushes grant +2 stealth and -2 Defense, ideal to avoid attention in the initial levels.
  • Save your items, when possible, to use in the last stages.
  • Use your slaves wisely and pick the skill in level 6.
Recommended PERK
Classicist
Use a single mana bar for all Magic Spells. MP grows with intelligence and every Magic spell equipped.

This perk allows you to cast your fireball (and others magic spells) multiple times in the enemies using a "magic bar" than recharges using turns. Your "magic bar" capacity increase obtaining more Magic Spells (red ones) and increasing your Intellect stat. With the correct build you can kill any monster with a complete mana bar(and a bit of luck).

How to unlock: "As a Wizard completely clear the Mage Academy (3-4) of enemies on Suicide Difficulty."
Recommended Gears
Crowd Control
Start with the extra spell 'Teleport Away'

OR
Now You See Me
Start with the extra spell 'Blink''

Any of these spells can easily be considered useless BUT they granted you an extra start magic spell, this means your classicist mana bar starts with 24 points, enough to cast 3 fireballs in sequence without recharge. I particularly prefer the Teleport Away spell, it is good for sending strong and very close monsters away, but you can choose Blink too.

Why not "Soulmancer" Gear?
Soulmancer
Start with the extra spell 'Form Wisp' at the cost of -2 base Attack.

Soulmancer is a great gear, the wisp can help in some situations BUT, in my opinion, there two big problems with this option:
1 - The 'Form Wisp' skill is rechargeable by Xp, this (using the "Classicist" perk) means than your magic bar will be reduced to use all your magic spells until you get enough experience to increase it again. This, in fact, means than you will be able to cast less spells until recharge your mana bar (with exp).
2 - The wisp is crazy a lot to me, it teleports monsters, moves a lot and it could draw attention of enemies when you don't want.
Our streategy consists in kill one enemy at time and wisp is unpredictable and, in my opinion, don't worth the 2 base attack (2 attack can save your run at the first/second stage)
Skills/Spells
Most usefull spells to the achievment:

Spell Damage
Increase the damage done by Fireball and Ice Blast.
Recommended level: 2+

Your main skill and principal damage source. At level 3 you can probably kill the boss(Act 1) with a single magic bar.

Willpower
Overcome your enemies' magic resistance by sheer force of will.
Recommended level: 2

Willpower is a must have skill in Suicide Difficulty. The enemies have medium to high magic resistance in this difficulty, Minotaurs (Asterion and Lieutenants) have 45% magical resistence, for example.

Enslave
Heal and permanently enslave an enemy on less than 50% health.
Recommended level: 2

Your "tank" skill. Use your slave to tank the final act enemies. Ogres are good slaves, Cockatrices are fast and have great magic resist and Minotaur Lieutenants are the ideal(good HP, good damage, good magical resistence), if you can slave one them, do it!

Inspiration???
After casting a spell, gain a chance that it will immediately available to cast again.
Recommended level: 0 or 1

This is a great skill but, IMO, is not so much important when you use Classicist perk, is great when you cast spells "for free" magic points but is Luck based. I preffer using this point at Willpower 2 or to increase Spell Damage to level 3. Pick this one if you want but I don't think it's necessary.

My preffered skill sequence:
If you kill all monsters you will get at least level 8 at the final stage.
  • Level 2: Spell Damage 1
  • Level 3: Forcefield 1(Requirement for Willpower)
  • Level 4: Willpower 1
  • Level 5: Willpower 2 or Inspiration
  • Level 6: Enslave
  • Level 7: Spell Damage 2
  • Level 8: Spell Damage 3

Random Spells
You will find some random spells, take all them and for each run decide how to use, all skills you find will be situational, use wisely, there is not to say except you must always give priority to Magic Spells (red ones) to increase your magic bar capacity. Definitively Slave and Fireball will be your main skills, more points in your magic bar = more chance to kill enemies before taking damage.
Stats
Your stats are basically defined by your equipments, so select equipments in the run than can help you to the achievment. In order of importance (IMO):

Speed: Determine the duraction of your turns. IMO is the most important stat to this achievment because your wizard start the game with only 4 speed points, if you don't increase this stat the enemies will come close to you before you kill them.

Magic Resistence: Determine the chance of block magic skill, improtant in the last stages of the Act, Goblin/Mages/Succubus/Blobs can cast magic in you, so always is good to have some magic defense. Magic Resistence

Intellect: Increase your magic bar capacity. Is good to have but if you have 5 magic spells you probably will have a good mana bar to kill any enemy.

Stealth: Determine the chance of the enemies detect you. A very important stat to avoid be detected to multiple enemies simutanealy. Important in the early stages, you can temporarily increase this attribute by standing in the bushes(+2 Stealth, -2Defense)

Defense¹: Determine your chance of block an enemy attack, is your "last defense" in case the enemy aprochs enough to you.

Attack¹: Determine your chance of hitting an enemy with physical attacks. Only necessary, sometimes, in the early stages when the enemy is adjacent to you and don't have enough mana to cast fireball.

¹ -Your strategy always should be not to let the monsters get close enough to the point where you need to depend on your attack or your defense.[/u]

HP: Useless for this achiement, 1 Hp is enough.

Enemies
Werewolves
Apes
Ogres
Spiders
Ranged
Minotaurs
Asterion

You don't need to kill all enemies but the experience and the items always help. I recommend get, at least, level 7 before the Boss.
Avoid to kill Werewolves and Apes in the initial stages.
Be carefull of ranged enemies, give priority to kill them if there is not djacent melee enemies.
Be carefull to kill Ogres without a slave.
Extra carefull to kill Spiders if you don't have anti-venom potion.
Minotaurs are the best slaves to kill/tank the boss.
In the figth against the Boss use all your itens, summon all slaves you can before open the door.

Video example, it's not a perfect run, but it's enough to see the principles to get the achievement.

Notes/Updates
  • Act 1 is by far the easiest to get the achievement, no doubts, I don't even know how to kill bosses of Act 2 or Act 3 without take damag (excpect with potions of invincibility)
  • It's my first guide and I'm not a native English writer, so I accept any corrections/tips.

I prefer another way:
Act 1. Use Ranger. Perk - +10%arrow attack, Gear - Brisk leather shoes
Skills: 3 times upgrade arrows, poison arrow, then 3 times upgrade dog damage.
Keep away from enemies, get as much speed as you can.

It's about time the game got some guides like this. It deserves it.

Great guide, too, I'll definitely give it a go. I've been trying to get the achievements in for ages but I've hit a roadblock :p
